  1. Why all the negative nannys? So what if this was done before? Does their system work? Do people like it? I know of at least two people who love it. I'd give Burton kudos for doing SOMETHING to improve how sucky it is to bend over and strap in. p.s. I haven't seen any other system with the "teeth" on the side. So maybe they did innovate on something.
  2. They actually enjoyed watching you and commented favorably.
  3. We did have that group of tele-skiers up on top of Roulette. They said something to the effect of "well nobody can carve like these guys". You run across niceness here and there.
  4. I love it! Finally someone forging something that is not a knife.
  5. I don't think this would work with high angles but for low... This could be awesome! It would definitely have a lower footprint and the connection to board is superior IMHO. I would love to try them.
  6. The flip side is that a big boot will cause chafing and pain as well. It needs to fit, period. FWIW replacing the liners to Intuition made the boot fit way better and it's now as comfortable as my soft boots.
  7. First up talk to Sean directly. Maybe you guys can work something out. That being said, you should put bindings on it and ride it! I had an earlier model twin which was a blast!
  8. I would agree. Looks kinda spacious in there. It looks like what I had with MP28 size shells. I changed to MP27 and was a lot happier about the fit. (keep in mind that I also changed from a Deeluxe 325 to 700s so that wasn't the only change)
  9. Wow! That is a super nice board! I love the clean look of these blue Donek boards. The only top sheet I like better is the gray scale squares.
  10. Had a chance to ride with him a couple of times now. I gotta say that he's even more impressive in person. Nice guy too!

    Beaver Creek!!!

WTF! That sucks. Wish her a speedy recovery!
  12. Bump: good bindings, great condition in need of a good home
  13. I spent the last 4 days on a softboot pow board. While very turney I am totally missing my Coiler. I’m just starting to understand this alpine hardboot thing and the things that stood out to me the most are: 1) Don’t like moguls. 2) Love speed 3) While the soft boot board is carvable it really can’t hold a candle to my alpine setup. Give me groomers!!!
  14. Side slipping clinic? All kidding aside. Tried it today and it's not easy! Will try to get you some alpine and SB carvers side-slipping tomorrow. @HillB @Odd Job
  15. My experience with some of the listed boards (keep in mind I ride normal widths so YMMV): Donek: Honestly that would be my choice for a wide, stiff board. You know Sean. You know what he offers, nothing more to add. Korua: I was really disappointed with the Korua (can't remember which one I rode). The reviews were awesome but the board didn't deliver IMHO. It could have been just me. Gentemstick (Manta Ray?): MEH. It was fine but that was just it. They are really well made though. I am really curious about the Soul Pitch Wing. Would love to try it... Looks cool!
  16. Honestly all the boards mentioned in this thread can do all of these (granted, rider dependent). Some will excel at one thing at the expense of others. Demo as much as you can and see what speaks to you!
  17. I love my Coiler and my D.O. but there is something to be said for mass produced boards. Usually easier to ride as a demo and some of them are really not bad. Lately I've been really impressed with Burton's camber boards (Skeleton Key in particular). If I had the capital that would probably be my all mountain SB setup. But alas... Coilers are sooooo nice!

    Yo Lci!!

ME!!! Definitely. When I went off to examine Mambo I stopped at the end of Catwalk (where it gets wide). I pulled long and sat on the side of the run by the trees only to be nearly hit by two patrollers that thought it's a good idea to launch off of a boulder into a busy beginner run. Not only that but they gave me that look of "what is she doing there?". It sucks because I had a really good day. I too hope that this is only the winter break crowd but honestly, I'm afraid that it's not. Focus on the positive - that teleskier group was really nice and we did get a couple nice runs off of Roulette.

    Yo Lci!!

Georgetown 11:15 going EAST This is getting out of hand!
  20. FWIW, I moved the bindings back to the center (had them all the way forward). I feel the board likes to hold an edge better like that.

    Yo Lci!!

    What exactly do you mean?
  22. Do you know what the side cut on it is? We really need to meetup on the hill and swap boards It seems to me that one is a "slalom" board while the other is a "GS". I have a feeling that you are right and the heavyweight part might be the reason you like the 165 and I liked the 161. That and the fact that you're also way more agro than me Either way I'm stoked you bought it! p.s. remember I moved the binding back a bit? It made a huge difference in the handling. While my heelside still sucked I was able to hold a very decent toe side on it though at lower speeds than you.
  23. I'm interested in the bindings. Are they still available?

    Yo Lci!!

    Good call... Not carving conditions
