  1. I've personally never been to Zermatt but I stumbled across this interesting article this evening. Snow and avalanches have been crazy here too! https://www.thelocal.ch/20180124/weve-got-the-slopes-to-ourselves-zermatt-happy-in-its-own-world-after-the-snow Zermatt remained cut off from the outside world on Wednesday, with a rockfall on the railway line between Visp and the village only hindering the clear-up operation, which is expected to take until at least Wednesday evening.
  2. Please note: Talking about "old" men winning, don't forget about the "old" women who are winning too! One example (urning 45 this year) Claudia Riegler from Austria stands on the podium quite often. They know the game, they know their equipment and they have what it takes to win! As for Olympics and the watcher statistics... let's just say, the statistics from viewership in Sochi played a big role on our decision to do our boot project. Just a quick hey and thank you to the great people who came to see us at ISPO 2018! It was a blast!
  3. We've noticed softboots are getting harder, so there are many possibilites for both to have great carving opportunities
  4. Hello MN Surfer, we live right by South Tirol and we stay in the area called "Ortler Arena" That's a total of 16 different ski resorts and 1 pass can be bought for all of them. Our favorite areas are Sulden, Watles steep slopes and small resort, Schön Eben is great with the family, Nauders Austria is great too... http://www.ortlerskiarena.com/en/skiing-in-italy.html If you have any other questions, let us know... 5. Hey pow4ever, Sure! In the US, we have On Board Sports in Colorado. Please feel free to send him a mail. http://allboardssports.com/contact/
  6. Hey guys! I thought I'd post an update on how our boot project is doing. We started production on 17.07.2017 and the predicted finish is the beginning of Septemper (this includes the couple of week vacation Italy takes in August) We've had pretty good success with the test boots with a big surprise #1 Europa Cup the first time wearing the Point.951 by Bormolini B-Shell (in Scuol, Switzerland) Pictured above are all 4 shell sizes A, B, C, D (Mondo: 23-29.5) Extra in box will include an extra spring set and sticker. We will also offer spare parts and accessories. If you have any other questions regarding the boot or the project, feel free to send me a message.
  7. All of your gear and setup is important. And what works for you, won't necessarily work for others. The board is part of it but the boots, binding, (and if you use one) plate are also important.
  8. Puuuuh... for a second, I thought we'd have some extra competition. We are expecting it to happen sometime but not in 2018 Ahhh April Fool's is great when it is after April 1st
  9. Hey Bobdea We have a few of the world cup riders on the new Point.951 boots: Quote from our Mountain Slope Facebook site: https://www.facebook.com/mountainslope.ch/ "Congratulations to everyone and our #Point951 riders in Winterberg Germany! #VicWild (4th & with Team Alena 6th place), #DarioCaviezel (with Team Julie 4th place), #SebastianKislinger (9th place)" We are still taking pre-orders on our site just in case if anyone wants to reserve a pair: https://www.mountain-slope.com/Pre-Order/ If you have any specific questions, feel free to write us at: info@mountain-slope.com Greetings Jennifer
  10. Hello Tramp, having considered your question and suggestion, we did decide on making 2 stiffnesses. https://www.mountain-slope.com/Point-951/ Greetings Jennifer
  11. Yes, you're right... my apologies, Pretty much everyone at that point DNF or made at least one mistake on that run that day. I thought the video made was a greatd start to show what we are offering and the details are pretty amazing! We did post a pic of boots in box on their way to Japan Snow Expo...
  12. By all means, go check out (for example) Bad Gastein World Cup last month. The very first part of the video, you can see Vic Wild riding our new boots... In this specific event, he had been riding the boots for a week and went from 15th place riding his old 950s to 10th place with the Point.951 https://www.facebook.com/130657527048707/videos/1200701120044337/ Max Carving has uploaded many WC videos here... just take a look: https://www.facebook.com/Max_Carving-130657527048707/?fref=ts
  13. Thank your Groundhog Phil!!! Since your prediction last week, it has snowed every single day here in Switzerland... Winter snow is finally here! Apparently Westcoast Canada and Ontario both got blizzards yesterday. Bring on the snow!!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dS-tzJiXl90
  14. They won't cost more than 1000... or are you suggesting we sell them for 2000-3000 Euros?
  15. Hey guys, thanks for all of your replies. Neanderthal... You'll have to wait until Fall 2017. We were very lucky to get a modern version of the same plastic and the same colour from the same company! - Hey Neil! I've always written "less than $1000" and certainly not the black market prices currently going skyward for the 20 year old Point.950... - Hey Ace! We originally looked at carbon options as the moulds are much cheaper. We've even had meetings at a local carbon company who does boots and tongues in carbon for other companies and it really doesn't look like current carbon technology will work properly for an Alpine Snowboard boot. - To all the Intec questions (thanks Queenqueg) We will work on step-in at a later date. It will not be Intec.
  16. Hey Atom Ant, You may be interested in joining the extremecarving forum and the frozen-backside crowd. Both groups have a bunch of meetings and events every season all over Europe. Take a look and maybe meet some locals! Also, I found Englishforums.ch very useful when I moved to Switzerland. Greetings from Val Müstair, Switzerland... Jennifer
  17. I replied before I changed the avatar. Sorry about that! Changed it :)
  18. You guys are hilarious! Thanks a lot for the laugh I'm pretty sure the new ones won't squeak of squirrels or mice
  19. Please take a look at the Slytech gear. We have Shred/Slytech in our online shop and can say the quality of their protection gear it pretty awesome! Here is a link to their site: https://slytechprotection.com/
  20. They are already for sale in Europe. Not sure if they are in North America yet.
  21. No, C will be approx 42-44 (this is what the current C is and what HR and I wear)
  22. Yes. C is already done... the rest will follow shortly A, B, C, D will be available for fall 2017. We want to make a smaller shell than A and E at a later time.
  23. We will have at least 37 - 44 (EU) but we will not know for sure until the liners are completely finished. You can change the liners for your personal size and preference. That's not a problem. I don't want to quote you a size until we are 100% sure.
  24. Hey Tramp, Both the yellow and the gray boots are the exact same forms. The gray boots were meant to be a less expensive version of the Point.950 yellow boots. All 3 boots (white, gray, and yellow) are all different types of plastic from cheapest being the white and most expensive being the yellow boots. All materials have degraded over the years. As we now see "new" white boots being sold and breaking right away. The gray are a bit more stable and have kept their hardness over the years but also break around the buckles and tongue quite frequently. The yellow boot material seems to have softened over the years but generally never break. We will only be using the yellow version of plastic and we will be testing different % hardness of the plastic next. Hope this helps. Jennifer
