  1. Road biking., lots of road biking 200-400 miles a week. I do 10+ centuries over the spring/summer fall. Also with all the snow we have had and are still getting here in Tahoe (another 3ft. tonight/tomorrow!) I can't get out on the road consistantly so I bought a smart trainer - Tacx Buschido and am using Zwift Zwift is pretty cool, really pushes me to keep up the pace to stay with the pack or beat a PR. Really good workouts Also still hitting the weight room 3x week Really should do some Yoga!
  2. QQ, I was wondering the same thing, especially considering Timberline's inconsistant grooming??
  3. Videos.....Hmm Back in the day..........I thought Chris Karol was a living legend and "Don't Pat The Dog" was the ruling video and style of the day - Later this photo from 2001 of Mark Fawcett was and still is inspirational:
  4. Would love to go but 9 hours drive from Tahoe is a little much for a day or two............but I hope somebody represents and post back how it went!!
  5. Looky, Looky what was waiting for me today!!.......... the just released 2017 Swoard Extreme Carver (Gen 5) 175 H Flex waist = 23.1, radius = 13.3, running length = 156 Sadly were expecting over 3ft of pow Thurs-Sat Guess I'll just have to ride the powder board a few more days So I will have to wait until Sun. to turn it loose on some soft groomers It looks Freaking FAST just sitting still!! This should come with consumer warning labels, "Breaking Sound Barrier Will Cause Avalanches And Possible Bodily Harm"!!! Patrice from Swoard says this is 1st Gen5 EC in the states!! I'm a Lucky boy!!
  6. Ok....went with the original: 3m Pro 8 mil 12x72 USPS Priority - -$4 extra for Priority = $39.95 Should be here Monday http://www.ebay.com/itm/142322569722?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
  7. Here's a 4mil 12x72 for $69 https://www.amazon.com/Rshield-Paint-Protection-Film-Sheet/dp/B0058NW13S?th=1 I would think 4mil is the way to go - Anybody found anything better??
  8. Ha! Jim you may be right but I'm always tinkering on something and looking for a new project - Additionally this topsheet protection idea has been on my mind because with my Swoard Dual I've noticed scratches on the edges of the topsheet from ECing the board. When laying out toe or heel side turns the board is tipped over to around 90 degrees and it's dragging the sidewall and about a couple of inches of the topsheet through the snow!!.... so this could be the answer
  9. Hey Michael I was just thinking how am I going to protect my new 175cm Swoard Gen5 EC carver from the lift noobs and here you go and spell it out for me - Thanks!! What do you guys think of this - 3M Scotchgard PRO Series Paint Protection Film Clear Bra 12" x 72" Sheet $35.95 and Free Shipping!! http://www.ebay.com/itm/142322569722?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT Great price with free shipping - I've seen this 12x72 inch size/cut for as much as $51 Supposed to be the latest generation of 3m film protection. It doesn't say anywhere but from looking around the internet I'm pretty sure this pro stuff is 8mil thick - my only concern is the thickness.......is 8mil too thick??
  10. Hey RS Check the forecast ...........could be a tough weekend for carving - another big storm is heading towards VT and NH for Fri/Sat!!! I see 9 inches at Killington by Friday night...................and it looks like it sweeping across between Mt. Snow at 13 inches at 13 inches Friday night and Killlington, .....and personally, I would go anywhere But Killington.............south of Killington is Okemo, Magic, Bromley, Stratton, Mt. Snow.....not sure if their all still open but they all are better options than Killington and their all are supposed to get over 10 inches by Friday night! Hope ya got a Powder Board!
  11. Ryan Impressive on multiple levels.....soft boots, duck stance, avarage radius board and not to mention filming at the same time! Is that Gopro or your cell phone your filming with?? Your on the right track....with your board you look most comfortable and locked in to the turn when you grabbed your toe side edge........other wise try stretching it out like the European ec riders, see photo below....straight knees and leading arm way above their head and head is leaning on the leading arm dragging through the snow ......toe side arm is straight down by their hip. Not my style of ec.......but some where between the two is where you will find the sweet spot for you and your board...........of course you will have to leave the filming to someone else....which could be a game changer by getting both hands into the reach and rotation!!
  12. Haven't heard........is it on this year? Looks like closing day is April 9th
  13. Ha! Got too excited to notice the post date.... Duh! Well that Prior Slasher was a sweet find I wouldn't have found otherwise.....Man, I'd be all over that if I hadn't already got my Moss Performance Quad......seems like every board manufacture has a "surf inspired" board in their lineup now...........
  14. Lon I couldn't get the links to work for the "collector" from Reno selling 90 boards in Reno/Tahoe CL........went trolling myself and saw these of interest: Sims Race - $100 https://reno.craigslist.org/spo/6010372287.html Prior Slasher 156- New $300 - https://reno.craigslist.org/spo/6014099973.html

  16. Hope you wrong coast boys are out finally Getting Some!! My son works at Cannon Mtn. NH and he said it was "Puking Snow" all day today....and that's on top of the 23 inches they reported this morning!! Enjoy!!!
  17. Hey Corey, Could be more closely related to H.D. - aka: Hyperpicky Disorder When the groom turns to lumpy mush by mid day I not only bring along a second softer board, I also bring a second pair of softer boots! I swap out the Track 700's for Track 325's and my pumped thighs and knees have been rejoicing ever since. Of course going back to the car to swap out board and boots can be a pain depending on the vastness of the resort. Too much trouble where you have to negotiate a huge village and remote parking like at Squaw or Northstar. Not a problem at Alpine or Kirkwood where you can park right infront of the lift........
  18. Anybody coming in early for TTC? Sunday I'll be at lift 5/Solitude at 9am for some warm up runs on L. Zachary then chair 6/Cornice for Upper Zachary if groomed.... text me if ya want to ride............ Barry 530-448-4114
  19. Hey Ripster!, Wow......that's gotta Suck Sorry for your troubles. Sounds like Jim has come to the rescue - Yeah Bomber Family!! I know it doesn't help right now but I would think about upgradung to Step Ins/fintecs......especially if this is the second time you have broken the standard heel bails! It sure would be hard for me to ever again have alot of faith and or aggressive carving on that system holding up if I had already broken it twice! Keep the faith and I hope your trip gets better
  20. This sounds like some of my experience with a super stiff Virus. When I would get my Virus UFC to flex and loaded up into the turn it wouldn't release on heelside sometimes if I got pitched back even just a little. Lots of built up torsional energy looking for easiest line to dissipate I assumed...... I loved the board but my thighs were toast before noon and that won the debate to move it on.......
  21. Man you Canuk guys are quick to critique - must be something in the water up there?? Thanks Blue B for the save there!~..yes Neil their steep but I have come down from 65/55 (when I set up the Moss I was just matching the setup that was working on my Swoard Dual) to 55/45 and reduced my rear lift from 6 to 3 and traded out Track 700's for 325's............ liking it and it's working for me.
  22. With my new Moss PQ 60's shape and then the addition plates and hardboots........well it seems it is just Too Much (different?) for almost everybody to comprehend! I had a buddy come in for a 3 day Tahoe hit and run - (1st chair to closing every day at three different resorts) ...and on day 1 on the first ride up I get the usual bombardment......in the lift line, on the lift, at the top of the lift........... skiers and snowboarders alike, even he lifties chime in, it's a montage loop of:..... "what's that?, cool board!,nice ride!, surfs up dude!, cowabunga dude!, going surfing?, Where's the surf?, Hey, the ocean is that way!, whoa-look at that, Is it.....fast, maneuverable, for pow, for groomers, for BC".......and then they start in on "the ski boots", etc, etc......and those in the lift line that are not close enough to ask questions are gawking and pointing and saying all sorts of nonsense. My buddy is in total dismay at all this attention and by the third lift ride up he says - "Man, is it Always like this"? All I can say is - "Yep!, I'm the recipient of unwanted attention "...Ugh! By the 4th or 5th lift up it was nice to also hear from some of the same people - " Hey!, Wow!, Crazy! nice...turns, lines, carves, runs"
