  1. Seems to be modeled after the MS .951 Not seeing any info or reviews on this forum. Anybody got a review or opinion?? https://upzboots.com/product/2023-rcr-yellow-free-flex/
  2. Hey NC Maybe that's happening........but why just now? almost daily? I'm running F3/R6 cant disks on my TD3's. The problem buckle, my instep buckle on my rear 425 boot is worn down to the base metal for over half it's length..... from dragging it through the snow on toe sides.
  3. Thanks J, That's an interesting fix I might try....... I have none of the usual Deeluxe heel lift issues but want to stick with my step-in TD3's so the hot topic MS .951's are not an option. I did read all of the MS 951 thread.........interesting stuff. I'm not sure it's worth changing up boot systems when I'm pretty happy with the 425's heel lock when mostly hoping/looking for another quick performance upgrade. UPZ RCR look interesting............ or new 425's. Will have to think about that.......
  4. Hmm......gotta nice flow going but he's looking left and his knees are pointing right....looks like he's counter rotating and/or his arms are behind on the turn? Probably a consequence of his "old school really tight "Squeeze the knees" technique. You would think a man of his intellect and importance would know to wear a helmet!
  5. I like my black with green tongue Track 425's, (BTS and Fintec heels/probably 6 seasons on them) and felt they gave me a noticeable performance improvement over my old track 700 red shell/white tongue boots but recently I'm popping open my rear foot instep/ankle buckle from it dragging in the snow on my toe side carves. It had happened a couple times a season most every season but now its happening almost daily! The buckle looks and feels solid with no wiggle or odd angle compared to my front foot boot and it tightens up like usual. The only difference is that rear foot boots instep/ankle cable that connect to the buckle snapped this month and I replaced that but it was and still happening before and after that. So was thinking to upgrade to the latest edition blue/orange 425 Pro's but thought I'd ask the Sages first..... Is there another boot that I'll see/feel another step up in performance beyond the 425's?? Happy Holidays Everyone!
  6. What also has helped is getting back to doing squats. My rotator cuff surgery had limited my ability to reach back to grab the olympic bar when behind my neck. Im now up to 3 sets of 135lbs 3 times a week. Really notice more strength getting up off the ground or coming back up from being on one knee adjusting my boot, etc......
  7. I feel it most on my front knee when Im skating in the lift. But I feel it and have swelling on both outside knees at end of day and next morning! What's helped is pre and post advil and knee wraps with cold packs for 15 minutes on each knee after a day of riding.....really takes the majority of the swelling and soreness down for the next day!
  8. Yean, I had also looked into that board after your positive F2 experience and would of loved to tried one but no UPM option shut my wallet down! Sounds like a real screamer for the money!
  9. Ha! I stand corrected. I know I had that Rev+F Plate discussion on the forum with somebody? Must of been your evil twin brother! But yes, since the collision my memory and riding (still) suck! I also sold my K168 + AF plate because My Rev 163 with a F Plate UPM is even more OMG! I wish your Rev was UPM because if you are impressed with your 4x4 mount F plate You Got To Try A UPM Mount F Plate!! You know I had Sean build a minty fresh UPM mount F Plate this year for my new Angrry. He says he's still got enough parts to create 1 more UPM mount F Plate if needed. I tried the 4x4 mount F plate and the ride was good but the stack height is significantly higher than the UPM mount and just didn't feel as natural or as responsive as the UPM mount imo. Even Sean says there's a noticeable difference in ride/performance between the 4x4 mount and UPM mount F Plates! Happy Holidays Brother, I hope Santa is good to ya Stay safe out there!
  10. Someone wise once said, Rev is Wow! Rev + F Plate is OMG! Damn! I hate it when I'm right! Welcome to the faith Dave!
  11. Even on a plate I'm more concerned with: 1- my splay is the same as on other board+plates 2- I've done the fuego test to prevent any boot out 3- My angles are set to match my other boards Last, and least critical to me, I'd just eyeball it and move both bindings to visual center of the plate inserts. Lay a tape measure (or string or cord cut to the splay length) on the plate at the splay length and you can see/move the tape/string forward/backwards to see what looks center. As a nose stomper I go more 1 set of inserts more forward, even on my plates....while keeping my splay the same Ezy-Peazy............ride and adjust as necessary..................
  12. Yeah.....that's what I thought also but Yami had a JJ board here in the classifieds with what looked like UPM I was interested in and so I asked Jasey himself. He said it's based on UPM but offset so only his plates will fit...........so call it a JPM, I guess!
  13. I believe Corey's referring to the hole pattern on Bomber BP Plates....but either way, according to Jasey J. himself, a Bomber BP Plate will not fit the UPM hole pattern on any JJ board....only a JJ plate will fit a UPM JJ board.
  14. Hey KT Hmm.... Hey KT Not sure I understand that question?....are you just trying to center your bindings?? If so don't even take in to consideration the UPM inserts. Use the standard mounting inserts and just average your placement based more on your splay measurement... the distance/measurement between your bindings center to center. I think the norm these days is around 20-22 inches between bindings All I know is Jasey has a proprietary UPM setup... you have to buy/use his JJA isolation plate, the attached plate and the bindings on the plate would be how/where you could set center or more forward to weight the nose or more behind center to weight the tail.....but your splay would be the same no matter where you centered/mounted your bindings.
  15. Wow! A Patroller! I'd like to hear his excuse for that! ...but it sounds like he didn't own it and just BS'd the situation......correct? I would have verbally assaulted him........and then reported him, probably to no avail! You and me both Brother!! These days I start getting nervous if I see the parking lots mostly full........cause you know there's an unknown quantity of drunk/stupid/arrogant straight liners out there who's got my number!
  16. Hot Damn! It's about time I get to join this party! Here she is.......Coiler Angrry Hammerhead 160 20w UPM SSSCR (Super Secret Sidecut Radius) I could tell ya, but then I'd have to kill ya....as Bruce has threatened to hunt me down like a dog if I divulge more! 100% Angrry.....none of that Thirst/Contra mumbo jumbo in this baby! In the fastest color of course! Looks too good to ride! I should of got two just to hang one on the wall! Bruce and his graphics guy did exactly what I wanted.........couldn't be happier with it's looks.......and if it's half as fast as it looks I'm going need a G-suit and better life insurance! Now I just gotta get my mojo back ......and find some Big Kahunas before I strap this puppy on!
  17. What's scary is those bills Keep Coming!! It's been almost a year ago, as of Jan. 19th! The last combined bill I saw for medical, air transport, ground transport was over $100, 000 Thank God I was working! Workers Comp is a blessing...and a curse! They were going to get me better.....even if it killed me! They made me take time off from work twice which means they only pay 75% of your usual income. Not a game changer but being forced to take time off and less income is trading one stress for (a financial) another!
  18. Hey Pow, if it makes you feel safer, Do It! It can't make the situation any worse but Reckless is color blind and doesn't see/care what your wearing and is still gonna flatten ya! Keep your head on a swivel and wait for your skill and comfort level to tell you go or no go. If the slopes get crowded I switch to a more maneuverable board and slow down or just go home......actually I'm usually done by 11am or sooner, when the lift lines start overflowing the ropes it's time to pack it in. Stay safe my friend!
  19. Glad to hear it went well for ya and your already out and about Neil! Impressive!! Keep us updated on your progress.
  20. Aw Man! So sorry to hear that Scully. ....but been there, done that also! It's a long road back strength and mobility wise. I'm 2 years out from my surgery and full PT and just now getting back 90% of normal movement and just now back up to benching, decline and squatting 135lbs....which is what I used to warm up with! Which the Dr. said my shoulder would never be able to handle again because he could only repair one band as I had 2 that were unrepairable because I kept putting off the surgery. On a more positive note, I was back out on the hill (a few times) 4-6 weeks after surgery! Just cruising mind you with my arm in a sling.....but It Felt Great and was a positive ending to a bummer season! Hang in there! ps....you should post your situation in the original "Alpine Injured List" to update everybody...... I started this topic about post concussion recovery and not as many will see your situation if only here imo.
  21. ....and it just keeps coming! 40 inches More Snow Overnight and expecting another 10 before it's over!
  22. Yeah, it's disgusting!, every day there is more and more new snow! Geez! I'm going to have to file a complaint with the mtn.! They need to stop! There's Too Much Snow and you would think they would know it's cutting into my hard charging groomer carving days! As for the de-icer additions, they worked quiet well today in all this annoying new snow! I could bang my heels together and the whole icy block would fall right off. All the upgrades made getting into the stepins much quicker and smoother!
  23. Correct! Not only are they hard to get leverage on, those red tapered buckles will also pinch the crap out of ya if your not careful!
  24. Ok........here's what I've gleaned and applied from you Ice/crud masters to make getting going faster once off the lift! 1- Anti slip tape for outside decks and steps applied to Fintec heels on Deeluxe Track 425's 2- For those floppy Toe bails with worn out wavy washers that plop down just as your starting to step in I added my own bike tube bunges to keep it up! 3- Red duct tape on all TD3 receivers This weekend we have over 40 inches of Pow predicted right here in the Tahoe Basin which means double that up on the higher slopes which means perfect conditions to see if any of this helps! We shall see..........
