  1. Same here at Franconia Notch/Cannon Mtn. No snow even in the yard! but Loon Mtn. was well covered Mon. considering...... and Cannon Mtn. was/is still icy but ridable!
  2. Hey T, Post a photo of this rare species.....so we know what your dealing with
  3. Loon was Spring conditions today.....worse up top but ridable........not carveable imo due to "day after holiday" crowds was Krazy! Did I mention there was 1000 Race Team Wanabe Racers ziping and ripping by on every run! Oh yeah.......and lets not forget the overcast flat lighting was fun also I didn't fall and didn't get hit! So otherwise a successful day!!
  4. Uh.........Is this still the 1 or 2 finger method.....or something newer? Yeah..... what he said!
  5. Well......all this discussion on heel hold makes me wonder what's too much?? Considering I'm a size 11.5 in most street shoes/boots and I sized over a full size down to a US 10/mondo 28 in my 425's I never felt I had much heel movement, maybe a half inch both heels, but what is too much?
  6. I'm going to Loon tomorrow/Mon. We live at the base of Cannon Mtn. and my son is there most every day and he has said it's good...considering! The conditions haven't been terrible but cloudy, flat lighting for most of last two weeks. If it's not bad I'll go again to Loon Fri. where I hope to turn loose Bruce's Angrry Go-Kart I got in Dec.! We will see! I fly back to Squaw/ Palisades Jan. 8th so going from not enough to, way too much will be fun! A lot of Tahoe resorts haven't, still can't open for the last two days and another 7 days of snow is forecasted!
  7. Thanks for clarifying ....yeah to large for me. I'll pass..........
  8. So Sorry Buddy! Hang in there! It's been two years since my rotator cuff surgery and I'm now back up to 3 sets squatting and 3 sets benching 135lbs. 3x per week. The Doc. said my shoulder would never be able to handle that amount of weight again ......but with a lot of patience and persistence I'm back! You will be too! One day at a time........
  9. Hey Scott, May be interested. What size boot were you running in those? I'm back at Squaw.....you still make it up to Truckee/Tahoe often??
  10. Hey B. Surprised these are still here! I'm a 28 mondo in Deeluxe 425's. According to MS site it looks like I could go either C or D shell. What's your mondo size?
  11. Ha! He's another one who's hardly ever there or responds! ..........but thanks for the price update Big M!
  12. Yeah, I sent him (it's an annoying way to get a price!) price request.......he never responded! Ugh! I'll try again........
  13. Who's everybody using? I only see direct from MS option....but no price! What's the normal price these days??
  14. YES! Curious Minds Want To Know! - When are we going to see the before mentioned Step-In Heel option in the MS lineup.....?????
  15. Yeah........ it seems that's just one of the numerous steps required to make the move from Deeluxe to UPZ! I might just wait for MS to offer a step-in heel option! Sounds like that's what all the cool kids are using and I'd skip UPZ and already be on MS if they offered a step-in heel! I'm surprised some DIY hadn't already tried milling a MS set out for Fintec's!
  16. Damn! Thats probably true in my situation also. There's another $200! Geez! I don't dislike my current boots or the fit to want to deal with all the time, trouble and not to mention money this entails! I'll ride my 425's through this season and deal with the buckle if it keeps happening......and keep an eye out for a deal of the century to make UPZ's worth the trouble! Thanks for the info guys!
  17. Hey K, Thanks for the info. I don't have Any of the above issues, which makes me question going to this much trouble switching everything around for the UPZ's. My sole issue of upgrading was the ankle/instep buckle blowing open on toe-side carves..... and the 425's are 6? years old. Maybe ill logic here but my only other rationale for swapping boots is thinking/hoping I would see/feel another boost in performance from upgrading to the UPZ's like I did going from T700 to the 425's!! Decisions, Decisions!!
  18. The sizes are comparable, that's one less headache! I'm running a 28 Intuition Power Wraps in my 425's. Can I expect I will be able to just transfer them to the UPZ's ??
  19. 10 inches today and 80 in the forecast! And that's just for the base of Palisades, expecting over 10ft. on the slopes!!! And as it happens in a Heavy snow year I lose way too days on the mtn. because it will be too much snow for the resorts to open or the lifts to spin but, Ya Gotta Love it!
  20. Ha! That's not bad at all if that's 10 years of use! I average 100+ days per season and my red rubber heel pads look like yours every year! I replace my heel pads every season and I always have in the car a spare cable release and a set of pliers...just in case!
  21. What's is (UPZ's) "ramp angle" issue? What bindings you running?
  22. Doesn't even look used but way to small for my petite 230...but if ya had two could make water skis out of them!
  23. I don't have any heel hold issues with the 425's. but if I changed from Deeluxe to UPZ (probably RCR model). what should I expect in getting them to fit me and my TD3 SW SI's ?? Obviously add Fintec heels but I hear: 1- UPZ are more difficult to get in and out of 2- The boot length is much shorter so would have to adjust toe/heel bails 3- The heel ramp is different and will probably need to adjust TD3 cant disks 4- Sizing is difficult and doesn't match up to Deeluxe sizes? Just because I ride a Deeluxe mondo 28 doesn't mean the UPZ 28 is the right fit What else is in the change from Deeluxe to UPZ??
  24. I would love to try that board.........but wish they did UPM! Seems like one of the best top 5 mass produced boards out there!
