  1. No......mostly the opposite, no control and resistant to going left/heelside. I'm actually fighting it (more like the board is fighting me!) both ways..... I turn right then too much speed then wash the tail and side slip to slow down then drop the nose then fight to nose to go left but end up throwing the tail out to side slip left and slow down...... then drop the nose etc, etc. I'm actually having (a little) more success on the groomers with my Donek Rev and Coiler Angrry in getting my groove/riding back to pre collision.....but even those turns are butt ugly compared to last year but the boards are not fighting it happening! Probably would if I had one here! I pretty sure I have one back east at our summer home....but that's not going to be of any help until I can get my hands on it!
  2. I got TD3 SW SI's with a 3 degree cant disk on the front and a 3 in the rear on a Moss PQ60 with has a lot of backset. That was working great for me last year, at least before my collision....but for the life of me this season I can't find my groove in the pow and the boards fighting me and I'm just barely able to ride it, but not drive it like I had been!. I have a little more control on the groom but was thinking of putting a 6 cant disk on the rear to get some power/weight back on the nose..............which, of course is counter intuitive considering it's design/backset to ride the tail but I'm at a loss and about ready to make toothpicks out of this board by running it through one of the state highway industrial size snow plow shredders we got out here!
  3. Where you at? Is that the Loaf?? Wow....that actually looks like real snow....not that man made crud I was riding in NH last week!
  4. I think on ...Unofficial Networks? it said the guy that caused the Tbar Bowling got charged/arrested! .......because his actions sent 4 people to the hospital!!
  5. Hey jims Thanks for the info. Yeah I have always wanted to try one but the most frequent feedback I heard is the MK has a leg numbing buzz which wears ya out and adds to it not being ridden more than 2-3 hours per session by most riders. Sean and I discussed the use of a UPM plate could reduce this buzz and increase it's all day potential. So I know what my next board is to be if/when I need an (even) more turny board! With all the ft. of snow were getting out here groomer days to let this little Coiler bandit run has not happened yet. I've only had maybe a dozen test ride runs in soft afternoon chopped up groom....but it's lively! Alas, were expecting another 60 inches over the next 5 days again so out on the pow board again tonight! Have fun and stay safe out there! Her's the little bandit.........
  6. I didn't think Intec cables and Fintec cables could be interchanged as the connection to the heel is enclosed and permanent on Intecs. The only cheaper option would be to just use Intecs heels.....YYZ has the whole heel for $99 cad. Which equals $73US which comes out to less than half of Fintecs......of course Intecs they have their own pros/cons also at that price. https://www.yyzcanuck.com/shop/boots/f2-intec-heel-kit/
  7. Jim is yours stock or a mutant offspring like Corey's?? How long you had it?? How long can you/do you ride it when on the hill? I was tempted by Sean's willingness to make me a 20w UPM MK mutant but I went with a Coiler Angrry 160 UPM (F PLate) that just arrived before xmas. Really enjoying that as a step up from my Donek Rev 163 UPM (F PLate) in .......livelyness, velocity, violent direction changes and ability to ride it all day long!
  8. Yeah, I'd really like to do this with my 425's but my pow board loves to carve when I pop out on the groom so using BTS and 1/2 edges really makes a difference on my carving but doesn't seem to cost me anything in the pow. I was hoping to get rid of BTS but just haven't found anything better considering I do both mediums.....on the same run usually!
  9. Positive Angles Baby!
  10. Hmm?......I guess it must be priceless!
  11. Guts wise it's a pound for pound copy of Cory's 160 Angrry with XXT scr treatment. Bruce added torsional stiffness for my 230lbs. and to reduce the strain on the UPM inserts. I will as soon as I can get it dialed in (with the plate!) and can drive it instead of just hanging on for the violent velocity change as my dental fillings are popping out from the g-forces! If the ride with the plate is any indicator, to ride it without a plate I'm gonna need a G-suit to keep from passing out when changing direction!
  12. Ain't gonna happen I like my 425's and just ordered the new 425's in the cool colorway.
  13. Took the Little Red Corvette out for the 1st test spin today....aka Coiler Angrry 160 UPM F Plate It was dust on crust in foggy conditions and I made some mediocre turns.....but Wow is it lively! The takeaways so far are: 1- It tracks super straight off the lift....with no input from me! I'm just hanging on like being launched!! 2- It picks up crazy speed in a straight line ...more so than my Rev 163 or K168! 3- and in that micro second it takes to get to speed/mach 1 it starts pulling the nose off the track...like it's saying, Hey! let's go over there! 4- and as soon as you whip it around to that direction you feel it pulling the other way! No, we gotta go over here! 5- the transitions don't need any coaxing from me and really feel like the board is wanting/telling me to start the turn and happen lighting quick....and as far as inputs from me I'm just trying to keep up with this little Bandit! 6- but when your in those turns the board really looses speed and for a micro second time seems to slow down and then.....Wham! your headed the other direction!! 7- At the moment I'm just a passenger along for the ride! It will take a few more days of better conditions to Release The Kracken and Learn To Drive this go-kart! 8- and What's Really Scary is I've barely taped this little beasts potential....... sure hope it's not a Jekyll and Hyde and it just decides to pitch me in the woods! More updates to come!
  14. So when I get new 425's I'm going to make the old pair dedicated pow boots.....softer tongue, oem liner and move the BTS to the new boots. The BTS didn't seem to hinder me in any way when in the knee deep pow but thinking no need for BTS if that's the old boots sole purpose. So wondering what other hard boot pow riders are doing/using if any suspension. stock suspension, walk mode, aftermarket BTS style. ???? My pow ride, Moss PQ60 loves the pow but loves to carve it up also on the groom..............so maybe I'll get another BTS setup for the pow board if it isn't as responsive on the groom without BTS. Huh!, I think I just answered my own question! 1/2 edges and BTS don't impact or slow ya down in the pow but Really come in handy on the groom!! Geez! ...more shit to order!
  15. Nuff Said! Fintecs it is.....again.
  16. I might be getting new boots from YYZCanuk and they offer intec heels for $79 cad/$58 US All I have experience with is Fins version....but at less than half the price the Intecs heels are tempting! Anybody got any experience with both??
  17. Ha! Maybe.........but I like my 425's, so getting newer and newer color way won't disappoint! If I was to switch I'd go MS but I got way to many boards that all have step-ins!......but I might switch 1 board to standard bails if I found a once in a lifetime MS deal on a C shell!
  18. Probably! ..... but going from Deeluxe to UPZ's there's a lot to have to change to get them to work + additional boot upgrades (stiffer tongues and springs) and then theres the boot ramp to get use to! I didn't/don't think my heel lift was significant but my 425 shells are 5 or 6 seasons old and I average 100+ days a season on them ......so with the instep buckle popping open more frequently got me on this train...plus my wallet has an itchy trigger finger! . So new 425 shells, maybe down a size will do!
  19. Too early to tell........but the quantity alone will impact lift/mtn. operations!
  20. Ha! I got too many (UPM) plates as it is........God forbid I try another plate system! Just curious mostly.....
  21. Yeah....that's what I was hoping/thinking. Since my 28 shells have heel lift, going down to a 27.5 with a thinner liner might still fit and I'd loose the heel lift.....in theory! I'm going to try some Intuition C and L pads to see if that will decrease my heel lift on my current Mondo 28 Intuition Power Wraps/ Mondo 28 425 Pros.......but I plan to buy new 425's (just shells hopefully) anyway.
  22. Doesn't Deeluxe Track boot shells sizing overlap? Meaning isn't the shell for a mondo 27 the same as a shell mondo 28...it's just the liner that's the difference in size......right? My thinking is I'm currently a mondo 28, but thinking I might could go mondo 27 with a thinner liner to take up the 1/4 average heel lift I got. I imagine this size overlap really helps cut down production costs! ...........anybody got the specs of what the produced shell sizes are??
