  1. Nope....just once and done! Usually while sitting down in the Funitel riding the lift up.
  2. Thanks Ladia, I have Squaw pass via work...so no Mammoth. Hmm...I thought I saw Kirkwood fully open 7 days a week until 15th ?? I'll check again!
  3. It's a almost 2 hour drive from Squaw but thinking of getting out of the Tahoe Basin for a couple of mid week days next week. Kirkwood's on my Epic pass....and No, I don't have a pass to Mammoth, so that's out! Haven't been there since the Jim and Angie CA Trenching Convention visit. A few of you guys were there....Was that 2015?? On that trip I made the rounds with other riders from lift to lift but remember having difficulty finding a groomer that appealed to my crappy style. I ended up running laps on the front two Blues? off the main lodging/base area. Short, but fun. Any other lift/trail recommendations I might of missed?
  4. I looked into MS. Like Carvin Marvin I too live in Stepandclickistan, and at my 66 years, I am used to things happening at a certain speed and ease. If they were stepin compatible I'd be there already. I replaced my 7-8? year old black/green 425's with the latest blue?/orange 425's this year and that was a solid step up in performance
  5. Like it says I'm looking for a set of the original forward lean adjusters from Deeluxe boots. If you bought new Deeluxe boots for this upcoming season and upgraded to BTS or some other spring system and you got these just laying around and want to get rid of them let me have them. I'll pay ya for the USPS Priority shipping to 96146 and what ever you think your times worth to package and ship...... Thanks!
  6. Hey Ladia! Great to hear you were out on the slopes!! Yes I was there Sat. running a few laps on Gold coast. Surprised we didn't cross paths! I'm still struggling post collision to get my mojo carving game back so I still suck and can only handle Gold coast and Big Blue for a couple of hours max.....but the crowds were massive Sat. and the lift lines were backed up out of the corral ropes by 10:30..... then I was done. In those crowds my anxiety can't handle it! Today/Sun. was almost empty! The forecast had called for overcast/cloudy but that didn't roll in until 10:30-11am So it was Sunny and No Crowds for me. Wasn't this the last weekend for Heavenly? What lifts were you guys riding? Once they shut down my favorite, the Olympic lift my season is done there.
  7. It's cold here...starting tomorrow! A week of snow and temps below freezing every night expected! 5 inches+ expected here in the valley to get the storm rolling Tues....so 5-10 up top to start the storm week!! Should be awesome carving by next weekend with sunny but cold forecast!! Jack I tried every and all combinations and adjustments. All red, red/blue, blue/red, all blue, blue/yellow, yellow/blue and all yellow! And on each boot I tried No forward lean, little forward lean, medium forward lean, maxed out forward lean and I guess I'm too strong...or too weak or too dumb to notice any difference riding them. For the last 2 seasons I've been on all blue to use on my daily drivers and all yellow for the pow boots. With this new pow coming in I was going to drop the yellow bts and put my other oem's forward lean back on my pow boots but I seem to have misplaced that second set! Anybody got a set of Deeluxe OEM 5 stage forward lean mechanisms they want to get rid of ASAP!!!
  8. Trying something different and removed the BTS (all Yellow springs) and went back to the OEM 5 way adjustable forward lean mechanism. I set it up with 3 clicks all the way back/vertical on front foot and 3 clicks all the way forward on rear and I really liked the immediate resistance/response! Even in 60 degree temperature mush the board was much more agile! Here's some photos from the slush fest today................ not crazy Angrry tight but I feel like I'm finely getting back some of my carving mojo......only taken 16 months post collision! Can't wait for a firm day to give it a another go!
  9. For once I wasn't the only hardbooter! I never crossed paths or got close enough to identify their boards with the other two carvers but #1 had a chrome helmet and #2 had white deeluxe boots. They also were riding solo it seems. Was that anybody from here???
  10. ....If were going to continue to stay off topic Forget battery powered! Let's Put A Big Ass Engine On It! https://unofficialnetworks.com/2018/10/29/watch-this-2-stroke-powered-snowboard-is-brilliant/
  11. No joy in riding the Arbor A Fame.....it was a crudbuster for sure but surprisingly, considering it's scr was about as responsive as a Dumptruck! Not the width your looking for but I second the vote for the Alloy DO....especially a 1st gen!! I really enjoyed it's super sexy high gloss black and gold topsheet and turns so quick it would pop your fillings out! I'd give my left lug nut for another (nos) one of those!!
  12. My reading choices are fairly random but I've finished these two most recently: 1- An intriguing mystery novel which had quite a few unexpected surprises. 2-A testament about global warmings vivid demise of the Boreal forest and it viral effect on planet earth. An informative and worrisome page turner. 3- Next to read is the Pulitzer prize rendering of the Vietnam war and it's impact on Vietnamese immigrants to America.
  13. Hey Roro.......not sure where your getting your info considering "you never try the BTS" but BTS weigh a couple of pounds Each! You must have some really baggy pant bottoms! It's too restrictive for me to cover them. I put my pants cuff between the upper spring and the boot.......so Yes, quite visible.
  14. Hmm?, well that would be a first....as being called out as one of the last remaining old school knee jammers!
  15. Thanks for the input guys. I currently have all blue springs on my daily drivers and yellow on my pow boots. I've tried mixing in red springs but I just never saw/felt much difference and/or performance from any combination or spring adjustment....like I said I'm maxed out on rear boot forward lean and at 1/4 or 3/4 of an inch forward lean doesn't seem any different performance wise. I'll admit I've never liked the added weight, bulk and attention/questions they bring. Maybe time for a change.........if the oem 5 position lean mechanism is good enough for Sean (on a MK!) maybe It will work for me!
  16. I've got my BTS forward lean maxed out on my 425's rear boot. I've tried it at all increments from 1/4 - current 3/4 inch forward lean and I can tell no difference in my heel side turns.....doesn't help or hurt! I've seen plenty of Good Riders riding with just the 5 stage OEM Forward Lean Mechanism engaged at +3 or more on their rear boot and locked dead vertical on their front boot. I'm thinking of trying something else and scraping the BTS. Anybody tried BTS on just front boot and OEM Forward Lean on Rear???
  17. At Heavenly Sunday at the Olympic lift on a 160 Angrry, F Plate, TD3's and pulled up behind 3 post college age snowboarders right before loading: Them - Damn! We saw you ripping it Dude! You Looking Good On That Mono Ski!!! (I swear I hear "Mono Ski(er)" at least once a week!) Me - My grin evaporates into a frown, rolling my eyes I take a deep breath ready to roll into my scripted infomercial.......but then I get a Aw What Tha Hell Moment and Roll With It!.... "Damn Straight! And I'm The Best Damn Mono Skier On The Mtn! I'm Better Than All Of You! You Wanna Race!" Them - Dudeeee!!! No F---ing Way Dudeeeee! ...and their gone! I think I scared the bejesus out of em as they exited stage left quickly at the top of the lift and I never saw them again! Thank You Shane McConkey and the Game of GNAR! Snowboarders, of all people!
  18. Lifts still spinning here in Tahoe easily into June. Heavenly was good Sunday on Olympic. Getting catchy down low. Time to carry some rub on or paste speed wax!
  19. I found this to be a exceptional read on the global impact that the Boreal treeline (which encircles the earth via Scotland, Norway, Finland, Russia, Greenland, Alaska, Canada and is significantly much larger and more effective as the heart, lungs and circulatory system of the earth than the South American Rain Forests) is actually moving because it's following global warming! After reading it I bought additional copies for friends ........and especially the naysayers!
  20. Yikes! Sorry to hear it B. Hope you got some solace you made it through most of the season and won't loose much riding time!
  21. Never even looked back to start his turn! ....much less over his shoulder during the turn!!
  22. Bummer JJ! But Hey....If it's any consolation I fully dislocated my left ankle ....yes, as painful as it sounds, a decade or so ago and needed the same surgery. Fast forward to today and every Orthro Doc. I've seen over the years says my left ankle has better range and is stronger than my right! Six Million Dollar Man Baby!!! Welcome To The Club! https://gifdb.com/gif/speed-up-six-million-dollar-man-d8kp21b6q650mtmd.html?embed=true
  23. Jack you beat me to it! There's just plain Dumb.....and then there's Dumber!
  24. Stay Calm!, so true........but easier said than done in most cases as the omg!, claustrophobic!, holy shit!, what do I do!, sets in....while hanging upside down! If your arms are free enough to maneuver it was no problem In my upside down situation to release the Fintecs. That is why it's recommended for skiers, when going into the pow/glades to remove their wrist straps from their poles..........once the poles are trapped by your side your hands are stuck there if in your wrist straps!
  25. Specs Man! We need the Specs.......and a photo or two!!
