  1. Seeing that list kinda reminds me of Homer simpson prattling off what features he needs in designing the perfect car...
  2. Yea I know, we're so completely buried in snow over here in Euroland that I took it for granted that snow must be everywhere. I feel so sorry for you guys, Im heading to Italy tomorrow where theyve already got 164cm :):):) Just rubbing it in...
  3. How'd I miss that post I got no idea. And its kinda on the way to Stratton as well :) I think Id be able to take my TD3 SIs so Id have everything dialed in, so I guess Im set. Thanks Queeqeeg, if the Pureboarding center doesnt work out Ill be sure to hit you up.
  4. Hey all, Ill be in the US and planning on taking a weekend trip during Dec 16th up to the NY/NH/VT area, probably Stratton, but cant take my boards. Is there ANY shop that can rent me a board for a few days. I emailed the Starting Gate but they havent been doing any alpine stuff for years.
  5. Ive read a lot of articles, journals, press releases, papers, write ups blah blah blah and f knows what else, and that was a hell of damn well researched and accurate cover story
  6. Neither :) I mean the snowboard clamps you have on your work bench, are they Toko, Swix, or maybe a local Slovenian manufacturer? I want to buy clamps as I am tired of having my snowboard move around during sharpening, waxing and general work on my snowboards
  7. Hey mihi, what kind of clamps are those? And how much did they cost?
  8. Do be careful with the topsheets, they scratch and nick VERY easily and imho although high on looks they are low on durability. My 09/10 looks beat. If you want to maintain it use a plastic rejuvenator. I used a vinyl/rubber spray from Meguairs.
  9. I think I had the same thing, when I finally got it through my head that to turn I had to use my hips, my upper body just followed. Once I was able to touch the snow with my trailing (outside) hand on the snow I think I got it.
  10. ive seen people with matching pants riding before but matching jackets would look wierd
  11. Im no F2 fanboy but I had a number of them under my feet and they are excellent boards for the money, I concede that they are a step or two below in terms of build quality, but for the price of a new Virus you can buy 3-4 used F2 boards and narrow down what you really like, which is exactly what this guy needs.
  12. I asked this question when I had the 3m clearbra put on my car. He said he doubted it would stand up over time due to the snowboards ability to flex, which would cause the film to start peeling, but if it were cut up into a few sections to allow for expansion/contraction then it might hold up.
  13. Squats squats squats squats I have a weak back so I concentrate more on that and ride a bike/run for endurance, but it bores the hell out of me.
  14. Everytime I think a board is 'stiff' and unmanageable I try to get on an even stiffer board, get my ass served on a platter, go back to the first board and its like wooosh I can do anything I want with it.
  15. Im a slow person... uhh, which jacket in the picture is it? The red one?
  16. nah, it has to do with the fact that most older stock filters are pretty restrictive, installing a non-paper filter or even a cold air intake allows air to flow in more freely which increases horsepower. same thing with exhaust, go up to a 2" exhaust and ditch all the smog equipment and you can see some big increases. though most modern cars (like after 2005s) have pretty good filters so it may or may not do anything. i normally get 5% worse diesel mileage, of course a lot more when the car is packed with gear
  17. Also down for some info, as I need to buy another pair of bindings this season and being lazy and all I only go for stepins...
  18. Problem with political threads is most people have no idea what the hell they are talking about. Zero historical/sociological/economic background, zero analysis, just "thats a stupid idea/republicans=hitler/america=police state etc etc. Useless for all. Nobody learns anything, changes their minds, in fact all it does is further digs people into their little ruts and just flare a lot of tempers. I like this forum because we concentrate on hardbooting. Keep it that way! OT threads should be light fun reading, not expounding some armchair generals views on geopolitical military theory in Iraq.
  19. Dont you guys remove your bindings for the summer?
  20. head stratos pros with yellow springs, weight 180pds (80kgs) with TD2 stepins on yellow or purple erings. i ride on a lot of ice and need to be down low on the board quite often and need to ride very neutral, the stock HSPs were just way too stiff to allow that, i even cut off some of the plastic inside em, but now im really happy, i can just buckle them up or down to make them perform how i want them but even with me saying the above id only take peoples recommendations with a grain of salt, the most limiting factor (like with almost all equipment 'reviews' online) is the lack of experience with different setups and conditions and riding, ive never tried blue or red springs and am a kind of lazy rider
  21. a resounding NO, NIE, NIECHT, NIEN, NON, NI I ride softboots and this is the last place I want to read about em. The LAST place, dont take that away from me!!
  22. Jan 15 folded the nose and went over, badly inuring the ankle, nothing broken or severely torn. Was put in a cast and this season and told I wont be able to ride. Feb 10 I took it off, starting training and exercising by myself while waiting for an open spot at the rehabilitation clinic, Feb 20 went out the first time but only managed 3 runs due to the pain. Meanwhile kept exercising and doing balance exercises on the ankle, and just this weekend (Feb 31st) I was able to ride a few hours each day, just taking it easy, and avoided anything resembling a bump or mogul. Ankle was swollen each night but everything felt ok. I still cant run or jump, but god damn this takes a long time to heal.
  23. I see a couple of guys using step ins, and everywhere you read "step ins are too stiff, no good, for fat lazy types' :D I love how everybody really has a chance here, not just media kings/queens and the usual suspects Btw, why are a couple of competitors not starting? They just give up, not wanting to even try?
  24. Snow/weather conditions to die for, and quite honestly the course looks pretty crappy At least there are a few closeups of equipment sometimes, Kessler, Oxess, SG, plates all around, and almost everyone on F2 bails
  25. I agree 1000%. For all the high and mightiness of the Olympics the entire venue and philosophy of the games were sold out a long time ago, all thats left is a bunch of smoke and mirrors with regular announcements by the IOC 'how important this all is', self congratulation, and a **** ton of money to make off people. I remember some people saying the whole games changed when that anti corporate president resigned in the 80s or something, but for me it was the Atlanta games, the merchandising and commercials just killed it for me, and I still remember the Norway games. Now the Olympics are just as pepsicolaGMhsbcbankofamericaNIKEetcetc as any other sports championship.
