  1. They're yours, then. PM me your details; I'll work on getting freight rate options & we'll get this rolling. Thanks!

    Prior ATV 167

just too narrow for softies (23-something waist; don't have it with me) - was running 45* rear on hard boots. i like to keep my gear collection lean, so time to purge.
  3. Kerrc has presented a lower number; holding out for my asking price for the moment (or the closest thing to it before I get tired of these things cluttering up my office). Thanks!

    Prior ATV 167

Trading in my all-mountain carver for a softboot setup (gasp). Really fun & versatile board; I may be regretting this. Appears Prior may be discontinuing these - no longer listed on the website, just the 4WD. Anyways. Hasn't seen much mileage, no base grinds. A bit of lift line rash on the tail (see pic), and a shallow rock grind on the base are the worst of the damage. Looking for $300USD + ship (from Vancouver, BC). Cheers!
  5. Reducing the hardboot inventory a bit. Would like to try to sell the lot at once. Overall decent shape. Both 3*/6*. Typical wear, not a huge number of days on them. A few of the tapered baseplate to cant screws are slightly stripped (ham fisting with a cheese allen key). More stripped on the outer portion; they still work fine with a good shape key, so had no reason to replace them. A bit of finish flaking on the silver toe levers, and a little on the baseplates. There's a spare toe lever & an extra set of medium elastomers. Would like $420USD + shipping for the lot (coming from Vancouver, BC). If there's no interest in the bundle within a reasonable time, I'll split them up. Cheers!
  6. we were up on sat with the kids (my son has decided to ditch the skis for a board this year, so we're back on the bunny slopes). was snowing pretty nicely in the am, but getting progressively heavier at mid-day. good to get out, regardless. hoping for colder temps! random - i picked up a rossignol experience (essentially the jeremy jones model renamed after he left); evidently I don't like magnatraction (at least the aggressive version it uses) - put the board on it's side and the edge is noticeably slow. Those serrations really seem to dig in, and not in a carve conducive manner. up on CL it goes.
  7. ok, figured out what i'm doing with gear. looking for $350cad for the ATV. going to keep the f2's for the moment (mounted on the kessler; not going to let that go quite yet, the sweet thing that it is). flogging 2 sets of TD3's however. will go $250cad/pr for locals. will list in the classifieds if there's no immediate interest here. US exchange is favorable for such things. boris - still curious about the palmer risers. which ones are they, and what do you want for them? cheers, p. ps - local snow forecast does not look good. ugh.
  8. yeah, he's got a couple decent softboot carving vids. always good to see people that know how to use their edges.
  9. if i pick up a new board, it'll most likely be something fairly new. i do like the looks of the jones flagship. i'm looking for some highbacks, but stiff (ie, burton diode, flux dm; there's a couple other carbon highbacks out there). Which palmer risers you have? may be interested in a set. cheers, p.
  10. yeah, i find similarities in aggressive cornering on a mountain bike - ie, the bike squats into the apex of the turn & the tires bite as you aggressively load them, affording surprising traction & lean angle, then you're popped out of the turn as the suspension unloads - sometimes airing out, depending on the dynamics of the turn. similar with riding sport bikes. the load / pull g's / weightless release of cornering is rad, regardless of the vehicle.
  11. you guys are old. i'm going to sell my prior atv 167 (going to go with a softboot all terrain setup this year); if there's anyone local interested, let me know, otherwise will throw an ad up on bomber. will also be unloading a set of td3's; perhaps a set of f2 ti's as well. haven't figured out prices yet, just putting out feelers for now. cheers guys!
  12. ^very cool. may have to give one a go...
  13. speaking of jones... has anyone spent time on a flagship? design seems pretty progressive and carve friendly - ie, directional cambered shape with blunt rocker nose. the carbon version looks rad as well (though i'm also fond of the wood top). looking for a a fun, versatile soft boot carving machine. does this fit the bill? cheers!
  14. i tried softies again this season after a couple year hiatus; i'm loving it! applying the carving technique i learned on hardboots to the soft setup is good times. i love the versatility & forgiveness of the soft setup. now to start looking for carve friendly softboot gear upgrades... that coiler looks sick.
  15. what a season. 3 days under my belt so far. cypress could be done for the year. heading to the interior this w/e, though temps there are pretty warm as well.
  16. is that a new version? curious how they work as a fun hog freecarving rig.
  17. makes sense. i've never tried them myself (when i transitioned from skiing to boarding i used super stiff lange zr boots in highbacks), but i assume novice oriented ski boots are a good bit softer, and might offer a range of flex applicable to alpine use (in conjunction with a flexier binding like an f2). anybody tried something like this?
  18. unsurprisingly soggy last night. i actually don't mind riding in the slushy slop; fun to push around (for a while, anyways). certainly no crowds to contend with. losing base fast, however. doesn't bode well for spring if this continues for long.
  19. the 'own the podium' program has been funding the olympic alpine effort, but it does appear to be in danger of drying up - see jasey jay's comment: http://www.thestar.com/sports/sochi2014/snowboarding/2014/02/22/canadas_snowboarders_didnt_get_it_done_at_sochi_winter_games.html
  20. ^do AT boots differ in snowboard compatibility with standard ski boots (ie, different flex characteristics, etc)? some nice at hardware out there (was drooling over some super light carbon dynafit boots the other day).
  21. signed! i'm canadian, but agree that the lack of alpine funding is a travesty.
  22. i was up a bit later in the evening (7+). flats were pretty solid by then, but the bumps on lions side had lots of loose granular to keep things forgiving and somewhat entertaining. will most likely be up on sunday, but juggling kids, so quality carving time will be limited. looks like we've got some decent snowfall coming our way as well...
  23. a fat 20cm dump awaited us sunday morning. i'd nearly given up hope of a deep snow day this season, but there it was. as usual, the main runs got tracked out pretty fast, but there were still lots pockets of fun to be had everywhere. good times. really loving the atv in that stuff; versatile & fun. good to see a few of you regulars up there. got out of dodge before noon; judging by the parking lots & traffic still coming up, looked like it was going to be a slammed afternoon.
