  1. black snowboard of death?! *frantically googles for more info*. alas, that deck has about 8" of superfluous tip & tail, AND it's too narrow, but i like the sentiment. i still have to hand it to MIG - there's not much on the current market that measures up to the diamond blade. the donek flux looks rad, but it comes at a stiff price premium.
  2. this old(er) guy concurs. there are a few stiff boot & binding setups available, but the freecarve board spectrum is still relatively sparse.
  3. i've got a rayne nemesis (drop deck) w/ indys - super low carve puppy. def get similar sb carving vibes. feeling guilt for neglecting the thing.
  4. i've seen a handful of the cypress blue jackets working on carving turns on their SB setups. may be a general trend, but carving (regardless of hardware) does seem to be catching on.
  5. ok, this makes me want to dust off the LB. love the chill carving.
  6. the fullbag diamondblade opened my eyes to the potential capabilities of modern softboot hardware, and precipitated selling my hardboot setup. i discovered my happy place on this setup.
  7. yeah, picked up a lib orca this season, so good to go, thanks. will need to buy another softboot carver for next year, however.
  8. heads up (for what it's worth): stolen today (feb 18) @ cypress. Fullbag Diamond Blade w/ El Heffe carbon bindings. why someone would nick something unconventional like this is beyond me. perhaps they'll flip the bindings & toss the deck. regardless, thieves all need to die. really liked this board.
  9. ok, that's funny. need to remember that one.
  10. yeah, we left coasters have a different perspective when it comes to temps & the associated snow conditions impact. i come out to calgary every xmas, and seriously don't have enough clothes to keep warm in the mountains, and the snow is more often than not bulletproof. you're a hard bunch. that said, the carving thing has certainly opened my eyes to the glory of fresh cord. the pow vs cord tossup is novel, but real.
  11. random - i've got a dh (bike) helmet that uses linen fiber construction. granted, it's in conjunction with fg, and i get the feeling that it may be more of a marketing / aesthetic application than anything else, but kinda neat, regardless:
  12. travis runs pretty standard sb angles. love that deck:
  13. as one who's hung up the plates & hardboots for the foreseeable future, i'd like to think alpine is more a state of mind than a hardware prerequisite. it's all about using those edges; how we interface with the board is secondary.
  14. sweet graphic! i once had an apex sl.

sounds good. sorry i haven't been quick to respond; deep in the middle of an all consuming reno currently. i'll work on packaging things up, and will ping you for payment when i'm ready to ship. if you can message me with your contact / shipping info in the interim, that'd be great.

i can do that. expedited parcel (canada post, i believe hands off to usps) indicates 4 business days. i assume border processing may take a bit more time. that work for you? cheers

Bought used direct from Hansjürg a few years ago and only used 3-4 times since. Have since moved back to softboots; feeling bad about leaving it to gather dust so here I am. Base is in great shape, no scrapes of note; needs a fresh wax. Small nick in the nose is the worst damage. Appears to be a custom build; a bit wider than the stock 171 Alpine - see attached build sheet. $450 obo + shipping. Prefer paypal. Currently located in Vancouver BC
  20. another pretty deck. tho the supernaut is 1cm wider at the front insert. damn, the fullbag is looking pretty good right now.
  21. it does look good beside its brethren.
  22. yeah, love my DB. just looking for a tighter, slashy plaything for plundering pow pockets. and carving in between, of course. mig - give the above: lifer vs supernaut?
  23. my initial interest in these shapes was piqued (primarily) by the widths - ie, production boards over 270mm wide, often with a bit of (gasp) camber, and (relatively) stiffer construction. and i like the look of swallowtails (twins are just a waste of length for me as i'm directionally handicapped to forwards only). now if this board was a couple cms wider, i'd already own it (my first board was an antigravity with the same graphic; high nostalgia factor):
  24. i have been eyeing up that and the lifer as well...
