  1. I find myself pretty much in agreement with BlueB & others here in that just because you started a thread, once the community has contributed, it belongs to the community. Feel free to delete your posts to satisfy and/or cleanse your sole if you must but leave the shared work of others unmolested.
  2. IF... I'm lucky enough to ever make it, I'll gladly wear a silly jacket, fart-bag, whatever, so long as it's reasonably warm :)
  3. your updates really, Really make me want to drop everything and get out there. Alas, I'll just look again at the pics & vids while I hope for anything better then wet granular for this weekend

    Out of line?

that is, to a word, what I saw & was thinking
  5. wth, I'd be quite happy with either! btw, I readly admit to having rarely ridden on true powder, and then it's only been less then 10-12" deep. I've had a fair amount of time ridding in heavy, deep mid atlantic snow, but "powder" around these parts is very rare, much less "bottomless" I have skied deep powder out west years ago but since having a child, just haven't been able to justify those trips.

    Burton step-ins

seen it Many times before... Talent, Skillz, Experiance + Conditioning on just about Any equipment will easily kick your azz no matter what you're riding/driving, etc. for example, put me in Travis Pastrana's Rally Car, and him in my POS chebby pickup and he'd easily kick my fat talentless azz on any track ;)
  7. my dumbazz is quite impressed with the colorful maps in motion, but it's all geek to me guess I'll have to rely on my local weather guy to let me know if it's time to pack away my boards and get back on the mtn bike
  8. I agree! But to this dumbazz, big wave skiing does "look" easier then big wave surfing.
  9. Boot Tuning System look at number 12 in the PIC here; http://bomberonline.com/store/boots/parts_sb.cfm and here is the BTS kit (and a more detailed explaination); http://bomberonline.com/store/boots/BTS_kit.cfm
  10. I'm sure it will hold the lil cam, what I was thinking is that as your chair reaches the unloading ramp, the chair may very well land on the mount, bending/crushing it the way it does the BTS on some folks front boot
  11. I'm loving the PICs (and Wishing I was there!), Thanks for sharing
  12. I'd be surprised if they let you on the lift with it... and if they do, if ot survives. I'm thinking you would want to do a covert removable/reattachable set up that can be stashed away for the lift ride, then quick-connection mounted when you're ready to drop in.
  13. ...any extra inserts behind your backfoot? maybe you could make a little raiser bar to get the cam "following" you, up off the board about 12"-24"
  14. Best wishes for a sweet day btw, remember that just like your first run ever on a board, it may feel a bit akward but give it a couple runs before making changes, and then make small changes, one at a time, as you try to close in on "your" setup.
  15. Hi Scott, I hit mass-o-nuttin, wintergreen, snowshoe, wintergreen & seven springs. not many hardbooter around these parts. maybe we can ride sometime.
  16. deadhorse, sure... but beat it I will. 1. Not 100%, as you claim, but I already agree that the 'straightliner' shared fault. 2. the linked artical quotes wittnesses who said while riding fast, he was in control. 3. quite a few folks here already agree that folks loitering outta sight under headwalls & rollers present not just a risk to themselves, but also to others. 4. if you, yours, or anyone you see goes down in such a spot, educate them as to the hazardous situation they're in/present while helping to clear them out of it if you dare. 5. folks traversing trails at speed, locked on the edge (carving), rather then 'fall-line' skiing/riding, hit & are hit by folks too 6. What you doing on a black diamond run with training wheels? 7. I bet a number of folks even get hurt every years while 'snowboarding' on Wii & PS3 8. eat right, get plenty of exercise, get plenty of sleep and die anyway.
  17. yep, IX, X, XIII, XIV, XL, & XLIII I'm an idiot
  18. I'm a Steelers fan and looking forward to using the 6'burg reference!
  19. Did you come to Richmond when the North American Handmade Bicycle Show was here last February? I went with several friends to help support a few of our local friends who hame-make bicycles. I love craftmanship and really enjoyed seeing all the excellent examples that were presented there.
  20. dittos.I saw no mention of the straightliner passing through a timing trap. those estimates are just the estimates of wittnesses who no doubt, just like the vast majority of folks, couldn't estimate the speed of a rider, skiier, or even themselves to within 20 mph as they slide down the hill. I also think that most folks have no idea just how fast 40 mph on a snowboard is, or just how serious slaming into a stationary object/person at those speeds is. As was already mentioned, it was a horrible day for all involved. to unearth the sraightliner's body for burning at the stake is as redickulous as the thought that anyone not laying total blame on him is encouraging folks to repeat his final performance and yes, I am a parent that has in the past laid several 'Jack-Attacks' on straightliners' for their boneheadedness. I've also utilized many 'teaching-moments' to express the importance of getting oneself out of the way of oncoming traffic ASAP when stopping to chat, collecting yard-sale items after a crash, or even fixing a flat on the road while traveling to the hill.
  21. aside from owning multiple boards, and not enough bindings to go around, I also have a project I'm working on.... ---------------------------- Rick, I sent the $60 your way via PayPal to the account you listed in your e-mail.
