  3. maybe only partialy so... my Black HSP's came with both orange and black (seemingly stiffer) tounges I'll dig out my manual and see what it has to say about this...
  4. I'm about ready to drill the rivot to get at the last little bit of sticktion
  5. From This thread, Post #9 Direct link to the video : click here btw, I have done All with the exception of drilling out the rivot but I plan on doing that very soon...;)
  6. Holy Canada Post!!! (Though I agree I'd still dropthe cabage if I had it to spare)
  7. Giant Freakin Ditto #1 Giant Freakin Ditto #2 (how much did y'all pay for those ScoobyDos? I also highly recommend them but finding a good example under $4k???) Giant Freakin Ditto #3 We had 4 late 90's Cherokees in our company car fleet where I work. All went well over 300,000 mostly trouble free miles. the remaining one now has over 450,000 on the clock. btw, I also agree with the comments suggesting "Real" snow tires as a good set will take a 2WD car through snow that will stop a all-season tired 4WD in it's tracks
  8. Had that same season ender happen to Both of my old & beloved Reactors last year
  9. if it has lived a life anything like the 'loaners' I've driven, regardless of receiving scheduled maintenance & managing to have avioded a reported crash, it Will have been beaten regularly!
  10. understood & absolutely nothing wrong with that. But, telling some poor sole he is a knuckle dragging idiot because he's not skipping what might be to him an entire season, two or three's lift ticket budget to get on a metal board is bs that I think is a detriment to any 'growth' in hardbooting (not You Jack, I'm just using your post as a springboard... but I've seen a post or two by a few regulars here in the past)
  11. I've not seen it.... on the hills. in the forums, yea I've seen peeps here hate on budget minded folks trying stay in *or* get into hardbooting. to a few, they may as well be a dreaded 'softbooter' :(
  12. at some hills I've been to the problem is Not skiing TO the lodge for a quick snack... the Problem is the extended walking/waiting on line to get the snack and then waiting in the liftline from Hell with all the sheeple & never-evers in hopes of making it back out on the slopes
  13. :lol:Haters... they're everywhere :D nut is a small resort with barely any runs, so-so grooming & narry a hardbooter (I've never seen another when I've been there) but it does have a decent amount of vert 1,000+ ... and, I don't know who chit in your cornflakes way back whenever, but they've Always had a pro-boarder adittude. that's what I like, especially when compared to the other 'local' hill - wintergreen. Anyway, I hit them both, along with road trips to snowshoe & seven springs. Post up, If I'm around I'd like to go ride. in fact, it's been a tradition to meet up with my best friend from OH up @ Seven Springs every superbowl weekend for the past 12 yrs. (and yes, I've been to Boyce. my sister is about 10 minutes from it and that's where I taught her two boys how to ride )
  14. I wouldn't consider mine boney, but I've never really looked at other mens ankles. That said, I know what you're saying. I've since played around with the canting and the little adjustable side panels which seemed to help distribute the clamping forces of the boot across a wider area. That and a little more time in them and we'll see! Thanks
  15. hmmm, if I don't get my new Heads to fit like I want...
  16. I am Soooo with you heck, I bought two of my three mountain bikes used too
  17. got any pics of them Reactors?
  18. I walked around the house a few timesin them and now finally managed to get the wind in my face out on the snow in my new Head Stratus Pros. they felt ok the first run but very shortly thereafter I developed pain from a pressure point on the inside ankle bone. OWCH! I continued to ride 4 more hrs before surrendering the day. Two days later & due to tenderness I'm pretty sure I couldn't ride them tomorrow if I had to :( Anyway, I was already thinking about making a few of the mods discussed herein to gain flex, Now I'm looking for a little bone-out relief. Any ideas?
  19. If he can't help you, maybe I can
