  1. I might take the sims. how much upturn does the tail have?
  2. Actually I use my Raichle or blax and just hand set the heel binder, not exactly kosher but it works for me. I have Nordica gran prix when I do any hard skiing.
  3. WOOO HOOO!!!! Becki & I will be there. She instructs skis & snowboard at schwietzer but hasen't used her hard boots much so it'll good for her (and me)to try out some good carving boards. Thanks for setting things up, looking foward to this as Lookout is one of the few INW areas that I have not ridden yet. A session with out human gates would be awsome:D
  4. You could get 400 bucks for that square tail on ebay, I'd bid on it but my quiver's a year newer:lol:
  5. It's much easier for me to ski in s/b hard shells Than it is ride in ski boots. I often switch gear during the day just to mix it up without changing boots.
  6. I've only gone regular twice sucked both times, but I can go heels first all day long & lay a decent carve switch butt first, duck is for eating not carving:biggthump
  7. Burton didn't have metal edges til 85 or 86.
  8. I'd like to see intec pins built into the DIN heel pieces. No swapping involved,if they where designed with a little underbite bootout wouldn't be too much of an issue:biggthump
  9. that is by far the best pad I've ever used or seen in 20yrs of riding. I didnt know bomber carried them, I have them on 3 boards & I'll get 1 for the 3800, Thanks buell
  10. malalo is definetly a better all around board than the fish.
  11. My favorite slide ride was a '78 gremlin w/304 V8. I love to over power a short turn radius. It was an automatic so I could keep hold of my beer.
  12. I've gotta add Kudos to the plow drivers & linemen who work the wee hours to keep us rolling thru the winter storms. This turns for you:biggthump
  13. Nice to hear from you Mark, the next storm is here. I'm taking my new 3800 out today at schwietzer, It's a great pow board. It'll be nice to hook up w/you, I haven't been to Mt spokane since I was a kid so it'll be all new to me.E mail me thru BOL If you can get to schwietzer this week.
  14. shred's ride must be long & stiff:lol:
  15. How about an old t-handle crosscut saw w/big mtn painted on it. I know I want this board, it's a given. I'm not gonna replace the grocer now cause I'm sure the Garage is what I need:cool:
  16. I've found a mix that works well in all temps. I use a hard green swix mixed w/one balljay flouro graphite. I start with 4:1 , hard:graphite for sub 0 and go to 1:1 for above freezing. Structuring makes a big difference but I'm lazy & seldom work too hard on it. Try mixing in the graphite with a hard wax it does wonders:biggthump
  17. The only lesson I've ever had was bought for me in 73,1st time on skis. I could never afford it. I've gotten and given a couple impromtu lessons for only tips. If your going under the table do it under the table. It's probably someone who cant afford $100 an hour any way. as far as hardboot lessons they don't exist, If I got paid to teach someone to snow board in '88 I sure wasn't taking away from the area as snowboard instructors didn't exist. Consider it a tip and don't ask don't tell. Advertising is one thing but if they seek you out it's an exchange between friends, no dilema.
  18. beginner instructors are beginners. Until someone has lived a "SKI" area life style they are influenced by peer pressure of the masses witch is created by snow board companys advertising to only raging hormone teenagers. If any snowboard company actually advertised or catered to adults, perceptions and understanding would be very different.
  19. stiff & mean is exactly what I want for an all mountain ruler. 178 might be big for trees but I have the 3800 for that. If you have a used 178 you'd sell that's good, otherwise replacing the 173 NOS or used would be great. Might be a couple months before I can afford a new garage;love that name.Still the finger print graphic?
  20. hey doc, will john have some garage demos at the Big Fish session???
  21. Way want me a 178 carbon tell john the 173 rocked untill I broke the core spinning off a chunk of avy debri. I got that board when Blacktail opened and it ruled all conditions, it's a cap w/ carbon rods kevlar stringers, a little wide for my 27.5 feet but underhang aint so bad. tell him I'm the guy that rides w/ poles, he'll remember me.
  22. The workers admitted sharing the blame on camera, gonna make it tough on the their lawyer. can you tell I'm american?
  23. you pay your dues to get higher pay and be 1st in line for a job.
  24. Happy & merry . not nessescarily in that order. Being the only hardbooter is like starting your own religion, you have to watchout for the white coats they'll make you wear straps & laces.
