  1. Thanks Mario, now my only excuse is lack of income:freak3:
  2. I could carve in crap then, I can carve in crap today, 1 stick or two. That doesn't mean I want to create a demand for high tech polished turds. I will not buy lace up ski boots with strap bindings for 1 stick or 2. But thats cause I'm gettin old & am fond of ease of use, convenience, & DURABILITY. I'm not trying too pizz anybody off but I believe any surge in hardboot popularity is driven by a desire for high performence gear.
  3. AT boots followed by SB hardshells got popular into the '90's because snowboard boots & bindings where crap. Most snowboard/boot manufacturers opted to polish up and advertise this same crap to people who couldn't tell it was crap. The current wave of popularity is again driven by people tired of being forced to use crap due to the unavailability of High tech gear. Then bomber came along with stuff that was't cr... you get the picture.
  4. That should be standard equipment in every rental shop on the planet!!
  5. I like about 10* +/-. As much as 15, 20/35 on a powder board to as little(for me) as 7, 43/50 on narrow carver, 2*-3* inward cant, no lifts. flat is too little, 6* is too much. Can't do paralell, tried out a squawl & felt like was always tripping, but I can link turns on one ski with either foot:confused:
  6. The last K2's I tried were skylords w/built in high back great boot, little soft forward cause I'm used to plastic, but I'm not a fan of clicker so my buddy got a killer deal.
  7. A cuff cant lockout w/ built in spring to progress flex when released. GREAT IDEA!!!!!
  8. Clickers clog easily making them finicky, Rossi is a hinge pin at the arch, prefer toe and heel retention, Switch is easy to use, doesn't clog too badly & offers a modicum fore & aft hold. If switch made a buckle boot I'd consider that for free style.
  9. universal butterfly plate in 0* & 3* , 18 & 22 widths, stiff or soft flex, I want some!?!
  10. Becki loves her burton stepins. she stocked up on extra boots & 2 sets of bindings for other boards, for 200$. all NOS off of ebay, I amost set up for under 100$ but cannot bring myself to **** with laces.
  11. kaniksu & quicksilver are better for Hard Fast Carves:biggthump
  12. I have not yet met Mark Harris and don't know of any hard boot racers I do see other hard booters occasionally. Any Hard boots/bindings less than 10yrs old should be compatible. Since laces rule this part of the world I'd suggest trying on some skiboots at any shop to see what mondopoint, narrow or wide, fits you the best.
  13. Hi Mike, 1st off boots, by far the most important piece of gear. Comfortable snug fit is a must. Search on BOL (raichle, head, UPZ) to get an idea of what will fit you best, also check http://www.alpinecarving.com/boot_models.html lots of information. Check the Ride board, Steve over at Lookout Pass can set you up with a demo & a lesson to get you a jump started. Once you have an idea of what you need the classifieds here are a great source. welcome Bomber, keep us posted Troy
  14. I could pay you 40.00 next week, shipped to 83864.
  15. Is that a silicone patch from the toe bumper?
  16. I must sadly decline Steve, post gear budget crunch leaves me skiing my pass until the lookout ses, gonna miss bigmtn too:( On the bright side being layed off lets me ski/ride a lot this awesome snow year:biggthump If you can make it to Schwietzer in the mean time any day works for me:D
  17. Thank you for clarifying my thoughts exactly and AMEN BRUDDA:ices_ange
  18. +1 can I get 1 with a spare pair of cables?
  19. you can set the two outer discs at 0* thru 8* and it fits 3 or 4 hole and angle the cant parallel or perpendicular to the foot.
  20. I used burton race plates & they have a rubber base gasket so that is probably why I had no issue.
