  1. I,ve been the guy on the short end of that stick:eek:
  2. Love the piggy back fork lifts & the "softhat", aint no OSHAit in china, they must not have enough lawyers:lol:
  3. How can they crossdress when all "new school" fashion is the same, you can only tell if they have four tips or two:lol:
  4. I don't wear strappy lacey things yo mama does:eplus2:
  5. I know the atomic is a good board, but I have the 169. For the deep heavy pow the grocer ruled at 186 w/twin tips, a must as I freeride & carve switch all the time. I cant afford a new tanker or I'd buy the 182 today. If you know someone w/ a used one in that range I'd be interested,
  6. All I do is free ride the whole mountain, love to hit natural terrain features & love to trench the groomers and play in the trees in the same run. If your going to use ski boots I'd suggest a soft flexing one, stiff ones make the adjustment to hard boots tougher. I use old Raichle 123's that are way softer than any skiboot & most hard boots, witch is better for free riding. My extra boots are 27.5 so I cant help you there, better a little tight than too loose. I look forward to riding with you.
  7. A good mental trick I use to get that early transition is to always be thinking of your next turn; If you think too much about how you're finishing the turn that your in, especially at speed, it's too late to make the "early" transition. Let your body finish the job while you head leads the way:biggthump
  8. Looking for 180+/- am twin tip, 169 3800 is too small, 186 grocer is now camberless, 173 Identity carbon has broken core. Help me santa, I'm on a budget:ices_ange
  9. sounds good Steve, looking forward to a mini session at Lookout, will try for a day or two a the Big Mtn session also. hey Gus let us know what size you are & between us we'll get you geared up, I can probably do 49 after the holidays:biggthump
  10. Nice idea but you'll likely break the latch on the highback as it is not designed for those kind of forces:(
  11. Boot fit is everything. Get the stiffest you can find if you want to carve in laces. I'd recomend finding a shop that carries hard shells (good luck) & try'em on to see what fits then look here & ebay to set up cheap.
  12. Sounds like what used to be called a Hybrid. I've used that system once (rental), it seemed bulky and I didn't like the hinge pin in the center of the foot. Your alpine model is better i'm sure. I found no advantage to any of the soft stepins (hybrids) that I have tried (burtonSI, switch, clicker, rossi) over softer Raichle's w/intec's or standard plates other than finger exersize cinching laces & tweaking airs in the park.
  13. Has anyone out there gotten 10 years of hard use(min 30 days per year) out of one pair of soft boots & straps, if so do you still like to use them??
  14. I'm bettin on 5 pages W/out video, c'mon, 2:1:boxing_sm
  15. Did a nice head plant in freshie bumps showin' off under the lift just yesterday with some hard core buddies watching:lol: In 25 yrs of ski bumming I do remeber a few days that I didn't at least do a head roll, but that was high alpine back country. I still catch an edge & body slam in front the wetbutts blocking the run entrance once in a great while, much to their joy:nono:
  16. My old raichle 123's are a soft(er) boot step in w/out laces, and they rule the pow, bumps, trees & steeps. I have 4 buckle Blax w/out lateral cuff flex for hard carving but seldom bother to swap to the stiffer boots. In '02 I bought a pair of big bad stiff K2 skylords thinking soft boots had improved over the years (been in plastic boots since '90) I sold'em after 3 days of trying hard (pun intended) to like them. Straps Belong on the boot & laces belong on tennis shoes:argue:
  17. There's a couple good spots for this at schwietzer & I've managed some ellipses on hero snow, but that's not purely carve. the nidecker 165 might be the tool to get me there this year, but since I don't have video I won't post until I find a camera man on a hero day:D
  18. TVR, paypal sent, thanks:biggthump Cartharsis, I guess Bryan's are for you:D
  19. 3 pockets for PBR, 1 for sausage:biggthump If I need a carbo load I do a fully loaded (bacon, tomato, chili, cheese, onions) spud at the outback shack:p (it is Idaho after all)
  20. I want'em Thor, email sent:biggthump
  21. Guess I'm a mono skier, as I always use poles:biggthump
  22. WOW!?! Guess I'll have to thro away my whole quiver as they're all 10-18 yrs old, Gee, just when I was gettin good on my asym primes:rolleyes:
  23. My wife has bad circulation in the fingers & toes, and being an instructor has to stand around a lot. She has Thermic footbeds in her Atomic skiboots & can't live w/out them. Full time instructor, used everyday for 4yrs,discharged often & still goin strong:biggthump
