  1. Last time my wife did that I bought her a new pair of skis.
  2. Be careful, they have a 11-14" base.
  3. I found that the weak part is where the cable extends through the cut out in the plastic foot bed. The cable eventually frays from contact with the plastic, so I took a 1" section of a drinking straw, took the handle off and slid this down the cable. Now there is a protective sleeve keeping the cable from rubbing.
  4. An incredibly stylish kook, I might add.
  5. I have no idea. When I ordered it I told Bruce that I wanted a board to handle narrower runs that really likes to turn. I know it is variable sidecut, and it likes to be on edge. It also looks really cool.
  6. 1979 Town Car, the last year of the gas sucking dinosaurs. I'm thinking about hanging a hammock in the trunk.
  7. Sorry, built 2015 for a 180 lb. rider. 20cm waist. Sidewall says "170 NFCE 015 KH 6-7+5"
  8. 170 Coiler Nirvana Energy, tight radius. $500 plus shipping U.S. Base and edges are perfect, one small ding in top sheet (shown). Barely ridden, very lively.
  9. You will probably love it, i asked him to make mine a little narrower than the one you demo'd. I'm looking into one of the XC's as well.
  10. Will you be riding a new Idaho built board?
  11. That's what I heard, but since most of those guys ride 5-6 days a week I'n not sure it matters when we show up.
  12. If you go the Proteus route you might want to ask Sean about the round tail option. Probably a bit more forgiving than the standard shape.

    Ski Carving

    Knuckle draggers.
  14. Update: I just talked to Mt. Bachelor, they don't seem to see hardbooting as a legitimate interest and will charge so much for us to be able to have demo's that it makes no sense. I told him that we're coming anyway. I am now working with group sales to get us discounted tickets. There will be Thirst Snowboards to demo but it most likely will not involve a demo tent. I'm still not sure about the UPZ boots and SG bindings. But we will have boards, and riders and groomers to trench. Moderators, feel free to move this to the ride board as I don't know how. See you in Bend, I'm buying the first round.
  15. I carry a meat tenderizing mallet, on a chain. You should see the looks on the faces of the lift ops when I de-ice my own chair.
  16. If you face plant and the board hits you in the back of the head, it's a Scorpion.
  17. I keep the cables and handles under the pants. You can still release the bindings, and it seems to confuse people more when they can't see how you do it.
  18. Ryan, In the next video can you mount mirrors on your helmet? We need to see some high speed toeside slipping. If this becomes big I think you should start a cat or heli-slipping business.
  19. NICE: January 22-27. WTF: 1/29-2/3. I got the word from a guy in Idaho who makes snowboards that these are the official dates. Parking is free...
  20. Fully detuned edges and fiberglass. The Glass Slipper.
  21. I was going to hold off on this until everything is for sure, but in light of what may or may not be happening to this forum I decided to make this announcement: Mt. Bachelor April 3-7. I have an event proposal submitted. If all goes well we will have a booth with free demo boards from Thirst Snowboards, UPZ Boots and SG Bindings. If things fall through, we will have some awesome riding and Thirst will have boards in the parking lot for people to sample. The mountain should be 100% open at that time of year, weather permitting. We need 20 people for discount tickets. Lodging is cheap. Anyone interested? This is part of a planned series of rides and demos called the "Thirst Snowboards Let the People Carve Tour". More rides and dates TBA.
  22. My apologies. Did you remember to scold everyone?
  23. I just want to let all of you snow starved people know that I'm working with Mt. Bachelor, Oregon for a tentative carving session April 4-7. Demo boards, boots and bindings included. Also discounted tickets if we get more than 20 people to commit. They have an elusive marketing department, but I will post more details. There will most likely be an earlier session or two at some other NW locations. TBA
  24. Dan, I don't know about rental pricing but if I could go any where with slope side accommodations for a month it would be Sun Peaks. Three mountains funneling into one village with great carving. Big White is just a few hours away, if you wanted to split it up.
