  1. Hey all Long time no see... I'm looking for a all mountain / decent powder softboot setup. Thinking Lib Tech Litigator or one of the shorter Tanker sizes (172 preferred) if anyone has a decent mid-170 board let me know. I'll probably be in the market for stiffer highbacks and a pair of the sturdiest boots I can find. One step at a time. Price is a major factor for me. Trying to stay sub- $250 for the board. Thanks all Tex
  2. Just heard the news that Jay Adams passed away yesterday. 53 years old is way too early to go. He was an inspiration to skaters and his style influenced my snowboarding as I was figuring out how the edges were supposed to work. rest in peace, J.

    Durango

Anyone in the durango area? Sadly no board, but I will be skiing wih my son next Monday thru Wednesday 3/10-13 at purgatory. Love to share a beer with anyone in the area.
  4. Heading for Durango in a couple of weeks. I am "between boards" at the moment (ie skiing with my son again) but wondering if there are any shops worth checking out in the Durango area?
  5. I liked bill Johnson until he opened his mouth. And the US 4x100 team at Sydney was a bunch of idiots. I'm not calling them out for being Canadian. I'm calling them out for poor sportsmanship and not understanding the Olympics. I had the honor of training with some of the first snowboarders to compete in the Olympics, so I take that olympic spirit very seriously.
  6. I like the Canadian uniforms. Too bad their slope style team forgot the concept of good sportsmanship, or I could have been a Canadian snowboarding fan.
  7. A wu tang is a parabolic section off a jump. Mellow transition to steep takeoff.
  8. No, us ski & snowboard said they will not bring in the alternate.
  9. I don't know...but with horgmo out and several other injuries this has the potential to be a very disappointing event. I hope the half pipe is better. I have to believe it's easier to build a world class pipe than a world class slope style course.
  10. Yeah I know not carving, but the biggest name in our sport on the biggest stage in the world...I guess that guy with the blog about how bad the conditions were in Sochi was right. Egg all over Putin's face this morning...
  11. Really? This board is over 20 years old. I think vintage/collectors items are not infringing on Fin's business. Anyway- to the OP, if Oldsnowboards doesn't snap this up, there is an active vintage snowboard group on Facebook ... I'd guess the value of this in the 200-300 range to the right collector. Hope that helps.
  12. Might be interested in skis and alpine bindings. Can you check shipping to 78015 (Boerne, Tx)?
  13. Probably do better posting in the "want to buy" section of the classifieds than bumping a 3 year old thread. ;)
  14. Nice! I noticed the intro had an ad for Powder Ridge- did that molehill open back up?
  15. Welcome back, Curt. Now can someone bring back PSR as well?
  16. Also be careful if you use brass. It seems like every board I've had with brass inserts had stripped threads. If you have the choice, use SS
  17. Helicoils are pretty commonly used when screws strip out. Easy to install. I would be hesitant to use them is a ski with no metal though. Every time I used them there was a metal layer in the ski.
  18. If this guy passes I'll take them. MSG me with shipping cost to 78015 Thanks.
  19. I blame the government shutdown.
  20. Rear (left) foot. I still have problems turning right on skis as well- just can't take that much pressure
