  1. Ummmmmm. How much for a nice 48" deck?
  2. Purgatory has become my go-to resort since moving to Texas. Pagosa Springs is close enough - I will be there next Spring Break guaranted!
  3. Paging CMC... If I hadn't moved to where I get 5 days a year of riding I'd buy this in a heartbeat. Last I saw original 158s were in the $1000 range - this is a steal. Hop you're doing well Shaggy.
  4. Jeff still needs to deactivate that site - it is still possible to go through an order and checkout...even though we all know that he hasn't delivered a binding in years...(and I agree he was a great guy every time I dealt with him)
  5. By the way, you wanna tell us what this next chapter is ? (It may have been covered here but I missed it)
  6. Looks like his response was appropriate to the way you handled the situation.
  7. post proof that it's a scam. you said yesterday that he emailed you back. scammers dont do that.
  8. Funcarve, I appreciate the fact that you had a bad experience with Thor, but you joined this forum yesterday and all you have done is post negative comments on Thor. Several of us have used their gloves and had positive experiences. I don't think it's right for you to be throwing around derogatory comments like "scammer" when you have not been a part of this community and the people from Thor are not here to defend themselves. Post up some proof of scamming or pipe down.
  9. if you can't find one, any ski shop that carries head ski boots should be able to get you something very close.
  10. Michelle, I don't spend too much time here anymore, but you will be greatly missed. You were so helpful every time i called bomber for another binding part, a new set of bindings, or trying to arrange a demo. You are irreplaceable and I hope you still stop in occasionally to check in and let us know you're doing ok... best of luck in the next chapter of life.
  11. back in the late 80s/early 90's, 17.5" was a pretty normal stance. rear knee tucked right behind the front knee, locked together for all turns. If you watch old Peter Bauer/Jean Nerva videos, you'll see that they never laid out turns on the heel side - because nobody could get edges to hold in those skinny stances...
  12. that is a fun board but the skinny stance is gonna kill you unless you're 5'0" the channel was a little gimmicky but it worked well for its day - only real problem is it's a total pain in the a$$ to tune. Have fun. I'm pretty sure that's 1991-1992 model (maybe a year or two later - i don't remember much from the '90s :)) edit - didn't notice it's drilled 4x4... be very careful to check the binding screws before you ride. I don't think this board has inserts - just a metal retention plate like a ski.
  13. probably not a board you're going to find on this forum (but you never know) - we tend to concentrate on alpine racing and carving boards. Backcountry.com has them new for $385 right now - I have no idea of their cost to ship to Portugal. Good Luck
  14. I would avoid those scarpas. The second strap is going to impede ankle flex, and at your (our ) size, you're going to break them. Depends on the binding. Burton race plates/ibex are much shorter than Bombers (I think...never actually measured.) Until you get much better at carving, the additional leverage from stack height of the bindings won't be noticeable. The hard boot increases leverage so much that binding height isn't noticeable at first. (Did that make sense? 2 hours sleep...)
  15. You can do it, but it's not ideal. I rode for years in Raichle Flexon Comp ski boots, and they were great for the time and the application (racing), but in general, ski boots suck for freecarving. If you can find flexons or something similar for cheap, try them out. I think you could find used boots and bindings here in the classifieds for a couple hundred bucks. use the boards you have already to start. That Prior sounds like a fun board.
  16. bump. going to box them up and ebay them in the fall. $125 including shipping or trade for bx/all mountain board in the 160s or Burton Cartel bindings...I like those now :)
  17. he's got the same burfday as me... I'm guessing Dave ESPI?
  18. seriously. bumping a 10 year old for sale post? post in the "want to buy" section. it will yield better results.
  19. also interested in trades for 160-170 bx or powder type boards... happy Friday!
  20. Any interest in trading for the volkl?
