    Yo Lci!!

today was... well, it sucked, literally. conditions were slow and it was crowded by 10AM. main lot was full. valley lot was full. overflow lot on the east side of #3 was 3/4 full.
  2. you're killing it little dude! Wish I could have been there...
  3. Call Bola at All Boards Sports (303-415-1600) and get a NOS SG BX board. He might have a demo Kessler that he'd be willing to sell. Just give him a call and tell him what you are looking for.
  4. Start with the Super Wet Base Prep, then follow with Plum or Hot Rod, depending on conditions. Use an iron to apply the Super Wet, then a cold rub and Wax Wizard to apply the Plum/Hot Rod.

    Yo Lci!!

Shelly is sick, so sadly, I must send our regrets for tomorrow. Ink - I'll give you a call on Monday or Tuesday. Need to drop off that package we discussed and pick-up the prototypes. Rumor has it that one of the national breweries talked Lovey into buying their product instead of Tommyknockers. I propose that we move the post-ride libations to Idaho Springs. I'll be dropping Lovey management a note in the next few days, letting them know my displeasure with their decision. I'm thinking about nixing my daily breakfast in protest...
  6. Thanks to another BOL member, here are the specs from Steepwater
  7. we must have both purchased used boards from the same person

    Yo Lci!!

Sorry I missed you, again. Glad to hear you had a good time.
  10. Head Stratos Pro Boots w/ BTS (liners not included): The boots were ridden ~80 days. You can get new liners at the Bomber Store. MP 26, modified with Bomber BTS with blue/blue springs. There is one crack on the left boot, just below the ankle buckle, where I did not get the plastic tongue laying over the top of the lower last prior to buckling the boot, causing a small indentation in the lower last. The crack formed from the indentation but has not grown since the initial incident. I could drill a small hole to arrest the crack, but figure I will allow the new owner to make that decision. Both shells have been blown out to increase the overall width. In this above photo, the boot was stretched between the toe buckle and the "D" in Head (between my fingers) The boots come with the soft heel/toe pieces, and the soft (orange) tongues. Price $135 + shipping
  11. I am selling a 171cm Steepwater Plow for a friend. The board is used but in good condition. The Steepwater website is no longer supported so I do not know the exact specs. Waist is around 25.4cm, SCR is just over 11m – this is one of the best-carving softie boards ever made. The boards were made with little camber, so that the rider would not have to fight for edge contact in steep terrain. The board is stiff and has lots of pop! There are binding marks on the topsheet. The base has been dripped in a couple places (dripped not base-welded!) There is one spot on the tail where the topsheet and top layer of glass were damaged when the board fell over. I will epoxy and clamp this spot prior to shipping the board. There is mild lift-line rash all over. This spot is the worst. There was surface rust on the edges. This is what they look like after ~5 minutes with a gummy stone. All indications of rust will be gone after a day of riding or after a light tune. Price $200 + shipping - obo

sorry to hear it didn't work out :( hence out motto :D
  13. draw a free-body-diagram and you will be enlightened <iframe id="dit-video-embed" width="640" height="360" src="http://static.discoverymedia.com/videos/components/dsc/c1ecfb3418504be88dd64d244bbfd16359c286ca/snag-it-player.html?auto=no" frameborder="0" scrolling="no" allowtransparency="true"></iframe> while MythBusters uses energy to explain the results, conservation of momentum (linear and angular) is the time-tested method, recognized by SAE, State courts and Federal courts and 99% of the technical schools, in automobile accident reconstruction. Conservation of energy becomes too sticky because, in theory, you should account for all forms of energy [potential, kinetic, light (sparks), sound, etc...]
  14. I agree with the above statements that sampling at a slow rate will mean that the top speed per the GPS will be lower than actual. My data so far this season: Day 1: top speed = 39.4 mph, avg. speed = 16.0 mph Day 2: top speed = 39.6 mph, avg. speed = 15.9 mph Day 3: top speed = 49.5 mph, avg. speed = 15.8 mph My consistency in average speed, whether accurate or not, tells me that my comfort zone is well defined, at least here in the early season. I'll be interested to see what happen as more terrain opens and the season wears on...
  15. Really??? Is that the best you can do DB? Anyone who has been on this site for any length of time knows that Divebomber's reputation is questionable at best. The one thing he consistently brings to this community is pent-up anger and B.S. No matter your story, you always treat people like sh*t. I'm another happy Hardbooter customer, on several occasions. I would happily recommend them to anyone.
  16. Not true....the fatality rate has dropped 30%, adjusted for population. - In the United States? When comparing statistics such as these, keep in mind that DOT standards for vehicles in the US does not necessarily apply to vehicles/manufacturers in other parts of the world.

  18. Bought Raichles from Bomber - painfully narrow, even after being fit/tweaked by a professional. Bought Heads from Bomber. They were modified by the same bootfitter to increase width in the forefoot. Forefoot was comfortable, but liner packed-out, ankle became loose, added foam, was better, liner packed, loose ankle... Tried on Virus Edition UPZ RC10's from All Boards Sports - pure heaven. Took them home and installed my custom insoles - even better. Rode the first day - they were a delight. Currently dialing in the forward lean and flex adjustments. I may need to purchase the stiff tongues... Luckily I had easy access to retailers who sold all three brands so I could find what worked best for me.
  19. FYI - getting the board higher on edge is a function of rider input. As your comfort level increases, you will find yourself getting the board higher on edge.
  20. Time to clean house a little. For sale I have to following: HSP's, MP 26 and BTS with blue/blue springs (shell and BTS only - no liners) <strike>2 pairs of SnowPro bindings</strike> 171cm Steepwater Plow (I'm selling this for a friend) Item descriptions/specs/prices are located below... A couple rules: 1) Items are for sale, the only trade I would consider is for a unique Arbor board that I don't already have 2) I will not hold items, the first person with the money gets the item. Head Stratos Pro Boots w/ BTS (liners not included): The boots were ridden ~80 days. I am not selling the liners, only the shell with BTS. You can get new liners here. MP 26, modified with Bomber BTS with blue/blue springs. Head Stratos Pro Boots w/ BTS (liners not included) - Price $175 + shipping SOLD <strike>SnowPro Race Bindings – Set #1:</strike> SOLD I purchased these about 4 years ago and have ridden them only a handful of times. These bindings are in almost new condition. Both bolts that set the toe lever height (when clamped) have been replaced. The cant is built into the toe and heel pieces. Bindings come with 4 wedges that can increase or negate the cant, or add toe/heel lift. SOLD <strike>SnowPro Race Bindings – Set #1: Price $125 + shipping</strike> SOLD SOLD <STRIKE>SnowPro Race Bindings – Set #2:</STRIKE> SOLD I purchased these about 2 years ago with the intention of converting them for use on my splitboard. I have not used them. They have moderate use, but are fully functional and don’t appear to have any issues. These bindings are missing two screws: one for the center puck, and one tiny screw that holds the rubber toe damper to the toe block. The original owner increased the lift by adding blocks underneath the toe/heel blocks. These can easily be removed but may require the purchase of shorter screws (easily available at Ace Hardware or any other local hardware ship with a decent selection of metric fasteners). SOLD <strike>SnowPro Race Bindings – Set #2: Price $75 + shipping</strike> SOLD Steepwater Plow 171cm snowboard As I mentioned above, I am selling this board for a friend. The board is used but in good condition. The Steepwater website is no longer supported so I do not know the exact specs. Waist is around 25.7cm, SCR is just over 11m – this is one of the best-carving softie boards ever made. 21. Your answer lies in this thread. Lovey opened more terrain yesterday. The early morning carving was mid-season good, other than the crowds and kooks. I imagine it would have become pretty soft in the afternoon. Coverage was fine; I'd ride any of my quiver on the groomers.
  22. Ice uses Precision in Frisco; I've never used them myself. There is one guy at Boulder Ski Deals that is supposedly worth while - he did a good repair job on one of Ink's boards. I'm not sure who Bola is using these days. Regarding places in Denver, I've never been anywhere twice - I've never been happy with any of their tunes or their inability to follow simple instructions. I used to have access to a machine, so I did them myself. Sadly, that "mom & pop shop" closed, now I'm have to figure out what I'm going to do...
