  1. Thanks for the input everyone! It's been a nice couple of days. Had dinner at Coast Resaurant on Tuesday - it was great. Went to Vij's Restaurant last night - best Indian food I've ever had. Sadly an ignorant bureaucrat made a mess of my plans, he turned what should have been 6 hours of work into 15.5 hours. Instead of having today to play and enjoy the sites, I worked until 3:30. Granted, that did not stop me from visiting Whistler. I'm sitting at Araxi enjoying an aprs dinner espresso. The drive up was definitely worthwhile! I've definitely drank some great local wines this week! Had I seen you your post before now, I would have hit you up! I have; I need to bring the wife up here!
  2. Looking for suggestions on what to do in Vancouver. It looks like I may get my scheduled workload complete tomorrow (Wednesday); therefore, I would have Thursday as a play day. I was thinking of heading up to Whistler and checking out the area, but that will only consume part of the day (I'm figuring 7 hours with the drive and sightseeing). What suggestions do you locals or others who have visited the area have for things that are on a Vancouver must-do list? PS - I'm staying near the airport, so I know I'll have to drive to get to most of the good stuff...
  3. for years inkaholic rode and raced a foam core Rossi using the "original", small disk TD1's with homemade bumpers and never had an issue - just sayin'
  4. You say you are moving on yet continue to post photos and re-tell your drama from last year. If you have truly moved on, there wouldnt have been photos on your SG in this thread. You continue to blame SG and state that the TD1's were part of the problem, let's not forget that you lost one o the bumpers from the TD1's and therefore all of the applied force was cantilevered off of the insert pattern... In my book, you were more to blame than SG or the TD1's, combined! Unless you have scientific proof the SG is at fault (I'm not saying that they aren't, I haven't seen any testing to prove one way or another), it would seem appropriate for you to quit blaming them in a public form. If you want all of this to go away, delete this thread and start a new one talking only about your Revs and make no mention of SG.
  5. As Corey said, get in contact with Bola. The number at the shop is (303) 415-1600
  6. Glad to hear that it worked out for you! Work - I spent two trips visiting a mine north of Saskatoon dealing with some broken parts. Then another trip looking at the broken parts at SRC.
  7. With boards made from the older technology, I found that it was necessary to ride the boards aggressively and often forward in order to get them to turn. With the new technology, aggressive riding will cause you headaches. Finesse is the name of the game; finesse the board and you will be in heaven. As others have pointed out, minor adjustments in body position will result a different portion of the SCR engaging the snow and the turn radius changing. It's all about saddle-time with the new board and developing a symbiotic relationship.
  8. Try United since Denver is a United hub. You then have then option to drive from Denver or continue on United to Vail or Aspen. I've done the Denver - Saskatoon route a few times in the last year and the prices weren't bad.

    Yo Lci!!

hmmmmm, interesting... I may have to meet up with them. If so, I'll start early, entering at the northern-most trailhead, and drop down to the coachline lot at my midpoint. Tell Farmer to keep his eyes open for a fata$$, who can't catch his breath, riding a "natural aluminum" colored Cannondale.

    Yo Lci!!

the food was great Bigs, thanks to you and P for hosting! it was great to see everyone and to finally get to meet the "G"
  11. Virus makes a variety of lengths, I've seen a 176cm Avalanche FLP AFT at ABS, but yes, they are expensive (over $1K). PS - that 2010 Selecta on eBay has a rockered profile. I cannot vouch for how a rockered Selecta carves; I am only familiar with the older Selecta with camber.
  12. I gave him a call; the company that hosts his site is having issues. Give him a call; he opens at 12PM MDT. He also has numerous Virus boards that would suite your needs (Avalanche FLP or AFT).
  13. All Boards Sports - www.allboardssports.com or 3O3-4I5-I6OO My comments are about the older version with camber, I have not ridden the newer version with rocker. ABS has both in stock. I had a 192cm Tanker (the white '02-'03 version). It was a great board in the deep powder, but beat the living crap out of me in choppy conditions. YMMV. IMO, most softy boards have a SCR that is too small; therefore, they carve like sh*t! Make sure you take the SCR into account.
  14. I'm still interested. Is the Vist available???
  15. If you are riding pristine powder on open slopes, then the D1 is a good choice. If conditions are more variable, you should also consider the older version of the Volkl Selecta that has camber. I prefer the blunt nose over that of the Dupraz due to it's crud-busting capabilities.
  16. I send you an email a few days ago; let me know if you did not receive it.

    Yo Lci!!

you could have stepped out of the limelight and let one of the newbies fill that role...

    Yo Lci!!

Definitely a fun day! It was entertaining watching Mario trying to move mountains, literally, one mouthful at a time :D
  19. As others have already said, it will be hard to find someone to re-chrome plate your rims. Electroless nickle is an option, but will be slightly more amber in color than chrome plating. The easiest option would be: <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/u6d8eKvegLI" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
  20. Fin, sorry to hear the news :( It's never any fun to loose a family member... She'd make me snicker when she'd walk by and do a little finger-nibbling on the way.
  21. This footage leaves me speechless... <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/AZei9lJ2G1k" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> A big thanks to all those who were/are out there working the fires!
  22. Our office is within the evacuation zone and, therefore, closed. Several co-workers had mandatory evacuations, two of which live in what I would call "high-risk" areas. A few other evacuated voluntarily. At this point, it's just a waiting game. Me, I live 40 miles away, plus I'm currently out of the country...

    Yo Lci!!

a wise man recently said to me that I needed to keep the [work/life] balance. I took his advice: thanks wise man!
