    Yo Lci!!

I might be up for a mellow ride on Sat. Trying to nurse a sprain back health this week, so I don't want to push it and re-injure myself.

    Yo Lci!!

very cool, tell the 'lil dude congrats!
  4. How much is your medical insurance co-pay and deductible? That's the minimum you will end up paying after a cheap binding explodes and leaves you with a trip to the hospital. I'm not saying that you have to spend $250+ for bindings, but anything in the price range that you are looking for will simply spell trouble in the long run.

Too busy being a working stiff... Need to get that board to you, drop me a note
  6. PS - the F2 Titanflex could also be an option as the built-in riser would require greater board-to-snow angle to get boot-out. I have two sets of these on "play" boards for days when I feel like screwing around.
  7. two_ravens - I, too, am perplexed by the problem that you are encountering... Is part of the cause of you boot-out due to softer snow conditions? Here are a couple photos of my wife's set-up that may provide some insight about the F2 Ti binding. Here are the details: the binding is a Kessler-badged F2; this is the smaller-sized binding with the heel and toe pads moved to the closest-spaced set of holes; front binding angle is 52deg; the bindings are set with 0 bias; boots are MP23 Raichles with sole length 261mm; board is 18cm wide. My wife weight about the same as you, but she is 5'2" on a good day - meaning she has less leverage on the board than you. Feel free to hit me up with any questions you may have. It might be helpful if you posted photos of your set-up, with similar views, so that the rest of us could better visualize your configuration. Photo 1 - overhead view of the front boot. Yes, it does appear as though there may be some overhang... Photo 2 - rear view of front binding. On firm snow, boot-out starts to occur when the board is making a ~70deg angle with the snow. If the snow is soft, she either rides a wider alpine board (with F2 Carve RS bindings) or rides softies. Photo 3 - binding without boot. The toe and heel pads can be moved approximately 1/4" towards the center of the center disk; this is some of the bias that you could dial in once you account for the the difference in sole length.
  8. white blends in with the snow I used to wear black... It does not have enough contrast from the trees and shadows. I had too many close calls. Agreed. You would think red would catch people's attention but instead they must think that you are a matador and they are the bull... I currently have two jackets that switch between when on the mountain - one is blaze orange (just orange, not blaze/camo) the other is bright green. I do not wear the blaze jacket during the Spring Break madness. I wear the green and differentiate myself from the blaze orange/camo/Starter jacket wearing idiots that seem to overrun the mountain during that 3 week period. I also wear a brightly colored helmet that contrasts from my jackets.
  9. Sold! Sorry JP1, someone beat you to them...
  10. SOLD - Selling a pair of Head Stratos Pro boots. Shell size is MP26. These are shells only - no liners are included. The shells have been modified to fit the BTS kit which is included. BTS springs are blue/blue. Shells are in good condition, used about 100 days. There is one location where the shell cracked because I did not have the tongue and shell overlapped correctly when I buckled the boot. I arrested the crack by drilling a 1/8" hole at the endpoint. Includes stiff (black) and soft (orange) tongues and second set of heel/toe pads. $125 shipped in CONUS. Contact me for shipping charges if outside the US. Payment via PayPal gift only. The quickest way to contact me is via email.

    Yo Lci!!

Her knee cap isn't tracking straight, so everything inside is inflamed. It put an abrupt end to her cycling season and hasn't improved with 5 months of PT. The ortho is unsure that surgery will help... Trying to figure out what to do next.

    Yo Lci!!

Shelly's knee is royally f-ed, so Sundays are probably out for the rest of the season. Besides, Sunday is a great day for me to twist the throttle on the single-track. Hoping to make it up on Saturday...
  15. I have the JJA plate on my JJA Cypress. The plate is comparatively soft at least compared to the other plates that I have handled.. The combination has the ride and float of a '70s vintage Cadillac with the performance of a modern Ferrari. It absorbs and floats of all of the crap, yet when tipped on edge will rail a turn so tight that the g-forces will make you high-side if you are not paying attention. Slow speed feel is a little muted, then again, I have not spent much time playing with the plate mounts to see they alter the feel and performance. The way I see it, this GS board was not made to give me a warm, fuzzy feeling when riding at a turtle's pace...
  16. same comment at pokokeonig... They are essentially a beefy F2 binding. I like the low overall height - I used them on my VIST plate.

    Loveland

Maybe consider going to Eldora on Thursday or Friday and Loveland on Saturday. If you hit Loveland on a Saturday, you will be more likely to encounter other carvers - granted, leave early to avoid the heavy traffic going up I-70. ;) -- There's a reason why there's typically a flock/gaggle/herd/drove/swarm of carvers at Loveland on Saturdays and Sundays. P.S. Loveland Sucks!

    Yo Lci!!

both of us should be up on Sunday (notice that I said should...)

sorry, I only have SI'S hoping to make it up both days this weekend...

    Yo Lci!!

mo - sorry to hear about your incident, that's never good... New Years Day - in typical Lovey fashion, it was cold, it was windy, and best of all, it was empty! I had the JJA out - I made a few tweaks to the plate placement in the off-season and, man, am I glad it was empty. I was basically along for the ride; granted, that ride was super smooth, incredibly stable and at mach-schnell speeds. The carving conditions were nearly perfect! Time to head downstairs and move that plate again. I am psyched that the board/plate combo is readily tunable!
