Just got back from a short day on the white ribbon of death, and it was quite pleasant. Snowboarder Pete and myself enjoyed 3 astoundingly empty runs before the race teams, jibbers, b-liners, and clueless showed up. We still found a few decent windows for the next 2 runs, but after that it was starting to get a bit crazy, so we pulled the plug. The snow was suprisingly good, and the coverage was exceptional, though runs were on the narrow side. I wouldn't hesitate to take my best board out, I wouldn't worry about my base, but the race teams and kooks make me nervous.
Stats for day one: 5 runs/5000 vertical, most excellent turns on my favorite heelside: 3/5, Good linked turns: whole herds. Big A$$ grin: still got it.
Every one have a safe, and fun season!
