  1. I've been the more agressive one for about half of my relationships (including friendships). The feedback I received was that it was unique and interesting as well as flattering. Some of them also liked it because they knew they were too shy to have acted without the security of knowing the interest was mutual.
  2. I love using pick up lines!!!! Some of my favorite quotations (not necessarily pick up but whatever): If heaven had a height, you would be that tall. Never stop smiling because you never know who may be falling in love with your smile. If you want to know where your heart is, look where your mind goes when it wanders. Does this rag smell like chloroform to you? I am not going to tell you that I can't live without you, because I can. I just don't want to. (The Graduate) I believe that everyone has a right to their own religion. Be it Hindo, Jewish, or Muslim, I believe there are infinite paths to accepting Jesus Christ as your personal saviour. (Steven Colbert, White House Correspondents' Association annual dinner) Always forgive your enemies, nothing annoys them more. The widespread use of silicone implants by women and Viagra by men in the United States, one may remark, has almost turned the nation into one where artificially enhanced women are being chased by artificially aroused men! (Jagdish Bhagwati- In Defense of Globalization)
  3. My worst scars are from alpine slides: you just fall, get up, get to the bottom and they all ask "are you ok?" "sure I'm fine, just a bit shook up" and then they point at your blood....
  4. How do you injure your back while brushing your teeth??? Were you alone or was something else happening?
  5. I did some catching up on the thread: Congratulations Dan!!! I'll miss you on the thread. Will you still carry my boards if I go to Aussie??? Speaking of school girl outfits and snowboarding in them: (Not exactly)
  6. Morrie taught at my school.
  7. I know this isn't a longboard but has anybody tried it??? It looks really scary but I know that I felt way more comfortable and lasted longer on this one than I have on any other regular skateboard. http://www.freebord.com/ check out the videos on the website too
  8. I want Barry to do it.

  10. I had a chiropractor after I got rearended on the freeway. It was amazing how much he loosened up my neck but I found myself in pain afterwards. What I found that helped the most, would be to go to the chiropractor and then go swimming afterwards- it just helped everything relax and stretch out. Many ski resorts (at least the ones where I've asked) offer massive discounts on chiropractors or massage therapists (sp?) or even offer the services free.
  11. The Burton 5.0, 4.9, and 7.0 are PJ's aren't they??? I ride a Burton PJ 5.3 and it looks just like the 5.0 one. "It's cool to be old....school"
  12. Andy I am pretty easy: lasagna, burritos, pasta, griess brei, pancakes and thats pretty much it Other favorite categories include: thai, mexican, indian Oh!!! I had this fabulous salad in southern France once: spinach, honey bread, and goat cheese!! Can we start a cookbook on Bomber with the best recipies or snacks or whatever??? Ex: fried banana and peanut butter sandwhich
  13. I like guys who cook and I will clean the kitchen afterwards or during too!!! I think its a good trade off.
  14. I would actually chance a guess that the silence is good.. it means the women are busy and don't have anything to complain about in terms of male-female relations (or they don't have time to do so which is also good).
  15. I was at kirkwood last week. It took us eight and a half hours to get there due to chain control and avalanche control. We didn't even make it that night and ended up staying at another place.
  16. Kirkwood in Nor Cal. It's not as high tech as the other cali resorts and it is in the middle of nowhere. Normally it takes us 4.5 hours to get there from the coast, it took us eight and we didn't even make it because of a closed road due to avalanche control. Snow: excellent, some of the best on the west. Grooming: excellent. Terrain: some of the best in the west. Crowds: None
  17. Wow. Can you honestly get out enough to justify all of that? Where is the room for her stuff?
  18. There's a guy in Tahoe selling a board that might work for you (I'm not an expert though but I saw the add right after reading your thread and knew that you were going to be in Tahoe soon). Here is the link (you might need a password) http://www.tahoecarvers.com/riders/forum/read_TC.php?f=2&i=1181&t=1181
  19. Dan, I'd have to say that most of my relationships (family, friend, boyfriend) have been along those lines. It has always been wonderful and my trunk has definitely had bodies in it.
  20. Hey kiddo, If you haven't already, check out the www.tahoecarvers.com forums. There are two threads open for Kirkwood next week. While at Squaw also check out the 5/12 radio channel because thats what the tahoe guys use in the area so maybe you'll be able to hook up with some other people. If you can make it down to Kirkwood (its a bit far from Squaw) that week it would be awesome- it looks like we might have eight people or so next Wednesday and Thursday. HAVE FUN AT YOUR LESSON AND DON'T GET HURT!!!!
  21. Hey Boardrigger? I will be there almost the entire week. I am driving up on Easter Sunday and I will be snowboarding Monday-Thursday(maybe halfday on Thursday). The tahoecarver guys will be there on Wednesday and Thursday (http://www.tahoecarvers.com/riders/forum/list_TC.php?f=1) see forum Kirkwood 19/20 Session? and forum Kirkwood 4/17-4/20ish . I'd totally be down for riding with you. You can email me at skipuppy@brandeis.edu or you can try the FRS 5-12 on the radio at Kirkwood but I don't know if I will be carrying it with me on all days.
  22. Re: abusive relationships From personal and second hand experience within both sexes, I've found that abusive relationships actually tend to offer something that many other relationships don't offer. If she is georgious and smart, she probably could get anyone she wants .. but that would be boring. It is the whole chasing aspect: for many people a lot of the fun comes in the chase, in seeking approval (please note that these generalizations are not in any way supposed to be applied universally). It is a challenge to be with someone who withholds that affection from you. I am not saying that this is healthy or good in any way, but this is how many of those relationships are allowed to get started. She DOES need to figure it out herself though. If she doesn't she will continue to stay in the same circle. I am also not saying that this is the case with the girl Gleb knows, but I am saying that the whole challenge aspect has been prevalent in my friends' abusive relationships as well as mine. You just have to realize that while it is a challenge, it isn't the healthy kind and there are other kinds of challenges that do come up in healthy relationships that aren't abusive. It is a lot more difficult than it seems. Again, those aren't meant to be population generalizations and applied universally, they are just what my friends and I have experienced and how we have analyzed the situation in psychological contexts (with and without shrinks).
