  1. @pokkis What kind of plates under the Oxess bindings? Reinforces an asymmetric Gecko plate setup.
  2. That alone gives me courage to tell my wife “No, I’m not buying a new board at 58 yrs old, I’m buying two boards! “
  3. From “The Carvers Almanac”: The progress of a carver on a quest for the perfect heel side can be predicted by a universal prophecy: Before you reach the advanced level of carving, you will have four breakthroughs. But one of those breakthroughs will be a false epiphany. By the time you reach the third breakthrough, you will have revised every one of your long-held beliefs on technique. Just when you think you have grasped a unified, canonical truth of carving, you will realize it doesn't exist. Only then can you achieve true mastery.
  4. No. I’m line for a board this September and need to know where it is!
  5. I have a 164 VSRAM with the 9/12 sidecut...great nimble board. Had a Nirvana Balance 10./12.7/12 that was too stiff and I did not like the hook at the tail. Looking for feedback from anyone with a 10/12, 10/14 VCAM or Energy who may be riding on similiar narrower runs. I typically bail out of rhythmic turns after three or four turns and start searching out terrain to make spiral/curl turns depending on the features. I am looking for feedback on the liminations that a progressive sidecut presents in terms of completing a turn. From reading board reviews it seems like the higher progressive sidecuts 16m+ tend to straighten out the tail and provide acceleration coming out of a turn but challenge the rider to finish a full half circle turn. Just getting my ducks in a row before discussing my next board with Bruce.
  6. I think the base 12/14 isn't suited for narrow runs. Since I don't have the luxury of riding wide runs on a regular basis so I'm looking for feedback from anyone riding an Energy or VCam with a 10/14 side cut before I pull the trigger on a new board.
  7. Endless supply of wavefronts. Ride the waves wherever they go and Uber back!
  8. Are boards too long for the wavefronts? It looks like they are lifting up from too much air surface but the faces look extremely steep.

    Auctions?

So the near mint Burton Prime Speed I bought off the forum for $150 because I wanted to try an old glass board doesn’t belong on the “For Sale” forum because its not a state of the art carbon rubber metal, blah, blah, blah board? I thought the forum was supposed to be a place to converse with like minded addicts who experience glassy eyed looks when talking to non-believers, a place to exchange ideas, stoke and equipment for a very expensive niche sport.
  10. Nothing more exhilarating than a broad reach with following seas provided that's the direction you want to go...because nothing is worse than beating back in heavy winds!
  11. Anyone know what sidecut he’s running on the forearm boards?
  12. Bump for a great deal on an excellent board! Don't fight each other to be first in line! ?
  13. Bindings, 3 & 4 hole cants and center disc in "For Sale"
  14. Assume that means Deeluxe boot components as well. What about Paula Liners?
  15. Great Layer. Extremely light in weight. Wear it in warmer temps under a Northface Gortex Shell. Found a table of them at Sam’s Club for $39.
  16. Used one of these boards off Hermosa Beach last Fall. If you like to body surf theses boards are the way to go!
  17. I bought the heat moldable Sidas footbed for $100 and they made a significant difference in comfort and fit. I’m going to get theses when the Sidas wear out. From the description they appear to be made of the same material as my daughter’s moldable shim guards for soccer. The only problem was if the shin guards were overheated by the sun they softened up and returned to they original shape.
