  1. Larry does something different for work during the summer and may not be up and running yet for this season. Or he is slammed with fittings after all of the big sales we have here. I will get a hold of him and post more info later. Yes, it is best to set up an appointment. Ink
  2. Loveland and A-basin open, mid to late october, with what is often called the "white ribbon of death", one run of man made snow. They both continue with snow making to get more runs open and hope that mother nature will share some of her goods. Like Blue Bird said the rest of the resorts try to open just before Thanksgiving depending on snow amounts. Most places aren't that great until later December or January depending on storms. It is still fun if you can stand the crowds and small number of trails in the early season. Heck, it's carving when a bunch of the country is still warm. Let us know if you come out and maybe we can get a group together somewhere. Ink
  3. Gecko, Sorry to hear about the injury but glad that it wasn't worse. Keep us informed on how the surgery goes and I hope the healing and PT go well and quickly. Good luck, Ink
  4. Carvediem, I trained with Ross after the '98 Olympics at Mt. Hood and he was using various colored and styled prototype 24/7 boards. The orange hammerheaded board is one of those prototypes. This board was also used at the Grand Prix/WC event at Mt. Bachelor 98/99 season. Ink
  5. Contact Larry at http://larrybootfitting.com/ He has a bunch of contacts in the boot industry and I know he has fitted some large feet in the past. I fully believe that Larry will be able to help you out. Ink

Hey Mo, I may try to make it over there for the Nighthawk races. I think they are in february under the lights. I will need to find out more info when the time comes closer. Coloradoking is on Eldo's team so he will be there for sure. You will likely run into Jonathan B. Smith, possibly Dave Lewis (former US team), Matt Drinker (Eldo coach, ex world cupper), Bola(the salesman). Lisa Kosglow and Jeff Greenwood(both former US team) live in Boulder but I don't know where they ride and probably some other random older fellows who dig plates in that area. Kimo maybe? Get a 4pak for loveland and join us some if you can. :) Ink
  7. Derf, I had a friend who absolutely loved his Jamis Coda. As and older ex-racer and touring rider he raved about the steel frame taking the sting out of the ride, and slightly more upright riding position. He also loved that it was fast when needed. My local lbs carries the Coda and has good sales with it. I say go for it, especially if you can find it for a better than msrp. Ink
  8. As an ex podiatrist Larry KNOWS feet. He got sick of the clinical setting and likes more interaction with fun people so he works in this industry instead. He is the only person allowed to touch my boots besides me. As stated by CFJ he is well known around the world having worked with many world cup teams during summers at Mt. Hood. I have met a few big names through Larry who were having him work on their boots in his shop. The quality of his work is second to none and he will work with you to get things right. Many of the current crop of bootfitters on the front range learned from Larry, it is best to use the best if you can and he is just a short drive away. Bootfit by Larry is the best! Ink P.S. go in with a smile on your face
  9. I don't know about anyone else but I don't know what squirtboating is. Now I am curious and will need to go search for it. Good luck with your search. Ink
  10. AC, I will call you tomorrow to let you know my address so that you can join us. Ink
  11. DT That SUCKS!! So, does this mean that I get to demo your bikeS while you are away?!? :) Ink
  12. Lets do an early sunday AM ride to attempt to beat the heat. Mario, talk sean and farmer into it. Let me know what time you all want to meet and it doesn't have to be three sisters if folks want to go somewhere else. Ink
  13. AC, Earlier or late works best with the high temps we have been having lately. It doesn't look like my friends are riding so it may be very small but informative. Let me know when you are available. Big Mario, what are you up to this weekend? Ink
  14. Dave, Good to hear you are on the road to recovery. Keep us up to date on your return. Hope to see you healthy and on the hill again this winter. Ink
  15. It looks like all you cone carvers have another oldschool threat to deal with. It seems that Kevin is now playing in cones and getting fast quickly. Quotes from Kevin Delaney "It all started in May with a little nudge from friends from Boulder, that I should enter the National Championships in Slalom Skateboarding in San Luis Obispo, CA July 11-13. http://2008slalomnationals.com/index.html I rode through some cones for about 45mins in June and borrowed a board and decided I would give it a go. Fun, fear, competition jitters etc. With minimal time in the cones, I was pretty nervous about going 40mph on day 1." "I ended up 5th in GS, 5th in Hybrid, and 4th in Tight Slalom to win 1st Overall in Open Division in my first event." Gorge Games: "I made up 3 seconds on my 2nd run and finished .09 back in 2nd." "I finished 2nd in GS, 3rd in Hybrid, and 2nd in Tight Slalom for another Overall Victory and my second Overall in a row. I improved dramatically over the previous weekend and beat everyone in my division who was at the SLO event. I made a big mistake in the TS, failing to cross the finish line timing strip after winning the first run by more than .8, and shadowing my competitor to the line. I had the win but I couldn’t get back up the hill to the freaking timing strip and DQ’d for 2nd. Two close misses at winning this weekend." "Thanks to the skate crew that took me under their wing and showed me how to get around those cones without sliding out or going slow. Big thanks to the event staff that set it all up and kept it running both weekends." Ink
  16. I will have a couple folks up in my area (aldefer three sisters) for a ride. I don't know when yet but I will keep you posted. ATS is much easier than Apex while still being fun. Even if you don't ride with us you should check it out sometime. Hydrate or die By the way, how did that Abstract Algebra final go? Ink
  17. DT, you working on building up a bike quiver to rival your snowboard quiver? I guess fixie and bmx are just around the corner. :) Ink
  18. For those of you who don't know Chuck Bolden by name he posted here for a long time as DragonFlyJones. BSP, thanks for posting this and I will make it out to the event. It is great to see that others miss and still think about Chuck. I miss my brother and still think of him on a daily basis. Chuck did a lot of photography of the Twin Peaks team and many others in the CO area. He used his knowledge and experience from snowboard racing of fall zones and race line to get up close for good shots. Many would tell him after an event that he would get hit being where he was and he always laughed and said that he knew what he was doing and where he could be. A couple of his shots even got posted with credits on Velonews.com. Chuck was very proud of that and quickly called me when he saw them. Thanks again BSP, Derek
  19. Good for CSF. Congrats to Christian Hrab on his appointment. Chistian was always fun to race with. Ink
  20. No ride for me this weekend, we have a wedding to attend in Estes Park. Camping with the family. See you next weekend. Ink
  21. Way to go Kimo! Getting to finish out the season on a good note makes things feel more normal. Have fun and keep it safe with all the goons that will be out this Sunday. Ink
  22. I have to work on sunday and saturday is National Trails Day so I will be working on the Colorado Trail most of the day. Now I'm bummed. :( If the Mario gig doesn't pan out you could always take Kai to the skatepark to have him show you how it's done. Or you could park at our house, visit with the family then ride out the backyard. Ink
  23. Technical, tough, fun ride! Mario's swan dive to chest was impressive from a few feet behind and I was just ahead of Bluebirds 6' above the deck hover but I hear it was very impressive. Great job completing the ride AC, bring water next time though. TVR and Iceman, good to see you again. Next ride: maybe my backyard? Not as technical, more up/down/up/down instead of up/down. Just a suggestion. Ink Missed ya D.T. - We will ride again in the near future!
  24. I would love to join you but I have to go work on a rental property in the AM. We will need to get all of us with Big Mario and DT together for a ride or two this summer. Ink
  25. TVR, I would love to join you and others for one more day of the season but it looks like I have a work commitment to attend. :( Have a great day everyone and I will see you next season. Ink
