  1. I ride a FLC 173. Would say it's moderately soft. A very versatile board, to be sure.
  2. But Fin, hard plates are so old-school!
  3. My .02 as well, especially towards those responsible for putting the event together! Looking forward to the next gathering of the tribe. Carvestock, '14, here we come!

Rode for an hour, or so, couldn't buy a turn yesterday. Back out today, and the bottom was appallingly bad. Top, however, was freakin' brilliant!! You should have a really good day on Friday.

Yesterday was EPIC! Rode w, Steph, Shaggy, and Lisa. Gonna ride this AM, too. Shaggy said he'll be out, as well.
  6. Boot-out is rarely ever an issue. Other than that, what Steph said.
  7. A classy, inspirational lady. RIP, lovely rose. Heaven's newest angel came with wings already attached-to her feet.
  8. to all my fellow carvers, where're ye be. :)
  9. She: "What is THAT?" Me: "A racegun for the winter." She: Look of confusion. So, diplomacy ain't my forte, already.
  10. "To air is human. To carve, divine." "Bomber-subtly annoying skiers since: " "I trench, therefore I am."
  11. Copy that. Set up the oul' Nidecker GS 170. I'm gonna lap low for a few to get myself sorted, and then head up top.
  12. Alex, are you guys gonna be on one plank, or two? I'll be out, but not sure if I'll ski, or ride.
  13. A husband bought his wife a cemetery plot as a Christmas gift. The next year, he didn't give her anything. She asked: "Why didn't you give me anything this year?" "You didn't use what I got you last year."
  14. have a set of OS1, short plate. Mint.
  15. 'course we can. We can drink, and fib, at the same time.
  16. Glad to know you're OK. Peeps, if any are wondering, there are ways to donate to the relief effort. For one, the Salvation Army, which has had a presence in Japan for over 100 years. To help: text JAPAN to 80888. It's only a Tenner, but there's strength in numbers.
  17. Some sites/links where donations can be made are showing up. Need to be careful to find one that is legit, however. Scooby, were any effects felt in Vancouver?
  18. Only ever had one complaint about ruts-from a horribly bad skier. Mostly, it's questions and props from envious 2-plankers. "If I were gonna snowboard..."
  19. So I took the advice of yiz all, and widened my stance to just over 18''. Feels much more balanced and stable. Thanks for the input. Regards, Murph.
  20. Haha, nope-5'7'',30' inseam. Thinkin I should stretch it out a bit.
  21. Just looking for opinions/advice on where to set my bindings(TD3 Sidewinder) on my new Prior FLC 173. On my other, single-radius boards, I run the bindings in the innermost inserts, around 18" or so. I'd like the nose to come around more quickly while maintaining tail pressure, ie, a sharper turn. I've ridden the board 2 days, and it's very subtle and forgiving. Current stance is 17.25"-should I move the front binding forwards? Many thanks, Murph.
  22. It'll be a longterm keeper, trust me. Shakedown cruise today at Stratton-4" new, clumpy, over groom. The FLC is a rail, and will make any size turn you want. I got tossed a couple of times while figuring out the VSR-just need a bit more time in the saddle. Overall: damp, forgiving, and comfortable. BTW, Sidewinders are awesome!:D
  23. Just got the FLC 173. Beautiful board, a bit of shovel rocker, and just under 1" of camber at the mid point. Hopefully, I'll get on it tomorrow. Unless it snows a bunch tonight-then I'll be on the 4x4.:D
