  1. A lady in the gondola line at Stratton said: "Yours is so much bigger!"
  2. Just pulled the trigger on FLC173. I'll let y'all know how it rides after a bit(will have Sidewinders on it).:D
  3. That's why I rest the tail of my Coiler 180 on my boot toe in the Gondola line.
  4. I'm in the same boat. Pretty much settled on the FLC 173. Was thinking 177, but wanted more versatility. Now, if I can raise the scratch.....
  5. Sounds like Fri AM will be a bit of freshie. Alas, I shall be at the boot bench all day, back in my Mersey Paradise in the evening- "River cool's where I belong....";)
  6. That was very likely yours sincerely-round about 11:00, or so, on the lower mountain. Rode the upper mt w/ Steph and Shaggy earlier in the day. The vis was still pretty good, and Tamarack was great. Steph was testing her GS race deck-made it look easy, as usual.:D
  7. Hero carving today-when ya could see. Hopefully, I'll ride tomorrow, too. Hafta see how the oul back's a-feelin-bollixed myself yesterday. Gettin' old sucks, but it beats the alternative.
  8. Rode Stratton today. 6-10 new, a bit of freezing rain/mix, but winds have subsided. Got tossed around a few times, but overall, very good. Will be there tomorow, and Thurs as well.
  9. Epic day yesterday-20" in places. Steph, Upper Downeaster was amazing on Tuesday.
  10. Nope, it ain't easy. "Out here on the perimiter, there are no stars".....
  11. Shaggy was on his '58 today at Stratton-absolutely slayed it. No way my 180 Coiler RC could arc like that-not under my skinny arse, anyway.
  12. Great snow @ Stratton today. I spoke w/ Steph as well. She should be out first thing as well. I'm in blue and grey, riding a Coiler.
  13. Should be there Thursday, if the legs hold up after today and tomorrow!
  14. Please remember that a footbed meant for use in a ski, or snowboard boot is intended to help support, and stabilise the foot. It is not intended to be corrective for posture. Excessively rigid beds may well cause more problems than they solve. A competent bootfitter can evaluate your individual needs, and make an appropriate footbed.
  15. Lifts should start turning at 8AM; best bet is to get some early runs before things get crowded. We may get a decent snowfall on Monday, 27Dec, so conditions will be excellent. Again, if time allows, please stop into the Bootworks and say hello. Kind regards, and happy holidays.
  16. I rode Stratton Tuesday,,and Wednesday, Mt Snow Thursday. Excellent conditions at both. If yer at Mt Snow, stop in at the Bootworks and say hello. Happy Holidays, TW
  17. Rode Stratton yesterday and today. ****e visibility, but great snow. Got tossed a couple of times, thinking I was Jasey Jay. A Scottish lift partner said it was like the Highlands, the fog was just that thick in places-"Doon bae tha greenwood side-e-oh" and all. Hoping to get in some runs tomorrow, then it's work til after the holidays. Had a nice, brief chat w/ Steph, too.:D Happy holidays to all!

Well, ladies in hardboots do rather stand out.:D
  19. I've been looking at the stats for both. What is the advantage to a compound sidecut, as found on the FLC? Quicker turn entry with smoother exit, perhaps? I'm leaning toward a 173, as I also have a Coiler 180 RC.
  20. First and foremost: many thanks to Michelle for helping w/ my TD3 SW order. For some reason, I had trouble placing it on the site-most likely due to operator malfunction. As to the question-I plan on getting a new board after the holiday period, and am thinkng of either a Prior WC Metal, or FLCM. My home hill is Stratton, Vt.(mainly packed groomers-have a 4WD 169 for soft days), and I'd rate myself as an advanced intermediate rider. So, which board, and which length-173, 0r 177? Btw, I'm just south of 160#, and am well north of 30 years. Any suggestions/comments welcome. Tx, Murphy12.
  21. FWIW, I am a bootfitter, and a hardbooter. The place to start is a good custom footbed. Moldable liners function far better if a proper foundation is present. One does not build a house on a pile of sand and expect it to last. Please bear in mind that not all footbeds are created equal.
  22. Hi Scrapster. I am a bootfitter in So Vt. I also ride a 24mp Raichle, and have flat feet. If I can help, please email me: tdubh51@yahoo.com. Regards, Murphy12.
  23. Just got my copy yesterday. Great article, and the photos are excellent!
