  1. If I'm not allowed to post this, my apologies ahaead of time. I work @ Bootworks at Mt. Snow. I can fit ID and other liners, as well as make footbeds. I am a carver, so I know what types of fit problems you might tend to encounter. Please feel free to contact us @ 802-464-4052. And, again, if this the wrong place for this response, moderator, please move/remove as appropriate.
  2. Hi Aisling, Try youtube and type in Hindu pushup. Lots of variations, and they work well for me. Hindu squats too.
  3. These roses should have been in Vancouver!
  4. I've lived all my adult life in a number of ski resort towns, both East and West. I am wealthy beyond measure in the quality and quantity of my experiences. I don't regret for a moment not following the 'normal' path. Does that help?
  5. I'll add 'play an instrument' as well. 'course, I do that year-round.
  6. If I recall, a bottoming tap is sometimes used in gunsmithing. By way of a possible scource.
  7. I stand corrected. http://azchords.com/l/lindisfarne-tabs-5300/fogonthetyne-tabs-109655.html Great stuff, though.
  8. Looks like a great day! "Fog on the Tyne is all mine, all mine".
  9. Most hardbooters seem to be pretty civil. Is it because, in general, we're older and have learnt civility? Maybe we were born with it. We ARE a superior speces after all.
  10. I'd dearly love another RC1 180 with the new materials. It'll have to wait, though. Need to upgrade the PA system a wee bit first.
  11. Hoping for 2-3 more days this coming week, then it's on to the wheels.
  12. Try this: On a clean chain, use a good amount of wet lube-Pedro's or the like. Work it inreally well, then wipe off all the excess. The chain should look clean and shiny at this point. Then add a layer of dry lube and let it sit for a while. Even in the rather severe conditions up here, I've had good results with this method.
  13. A nice thing? Hmm. Last year, at a gig, a couple from Manchester, UK was celebrating their 40th anniversary. I played The Hollies' "Bus Stop", which was one of their wedding songs. As for WD40- a good cleaner, but it lacks the film strength to properly lube a chain. In general, stay away from harsh solvents when cleaning the drivetrain. Purpose-specific lubricants are best.
  14. I've been having good results with some of the Hindu body-weight exercises. There are some demonstrations on youtube.
  15. The Prior ATV is designed to work with either hard, or soft boots. Basically a wider 4x4.
  16. Still worthy of discussion, though. The issue affects us all, and strong opinions are hardly surprising. But I'd rather be riding.;)
  17. I played bass for years before going solo on 12-string. There used to be a book by Carol Kaye that had all kinds of walking bass-type exercises. Some great DVDs, too. Try Musician's Friend, or Homespun for them.
  18. Go native, or "When in Rome", and all that. Much more fun.
  19. So I've become a hoodlum after all. Me poor oul mum!
  20. Funny stuff, missus. Why feel badly? It'sthe Healthcare bill itself that's causing a firestorm.
  21. I have been in some Irish bands. These days, I just play solo. My regular set is a lot of Byrds and 60s and 80s Merseybeat. A few REM and some other odds and ends. All jangly stuff on an electric 12-string. Had an awesome time playing in Ireland, though. "Play de blues, boy".
  22. Steve Earle, actually. Recorded in Dublin. Last time I was in Dingle, I was in a grand little pub called Dick Mack's, passing the guitar around with a couple of locals. I sang "The Galway Girl" and a woman says: "An' did ye write that one, boy?" I said "Oh yeah, you bet". She said "Sure, and I'm Queen Elizabeth, so I am." Try this: She knew full well I was full of it.;)
  23. A step in the right direction, but I'm not convinced it will fix what's broken.
  24. "Boys, I ain't never seen nothin' like a Galway girl..." I play that one at every gig. Even did it for the Queen once. At least she SAID she was.;) Great craic in Galway.
