  1. Tell me about it! I saw someone endo on one of those.
  2. These can get confusing quickly. Here's three tables that I put together to make some sense of what I was seeing. I make no claims on accuracy or the data being error free but it helped me. Hope it helps you as well :) p.s. Just a heads up. Shipping from Mcmaster is really expensive. Keep that in mind - your total cost will be higher. Just do what I did and find someone who orders regularly and use them unscrupulously.
  3. I wouldn't grind them. These are die springs and are available via most hw suppliers (McMaster, Grainger, eBay, and sometimes Amazon) The shop used to have the spring rate. I would go off of that and not the color as that does not seem to match the industry standard (probably repainted to match the TD's color scheme) You can get a stiffer spring or a shorter spring (or both).
  4. Just to throw another board in the mix (and slightly tilt the conv) how would a prior WCRM compare to a Proteus? At comparable lengths the two seem very similar (single sidecut, very little taper, etc...) I'm interested if anyone has ridden both and can tell the difference (I bet there is)

    Yo Lci!!

Damn dude, leave you alone for one weekend.... Hope the meeting with the surgeon goes well and the recovery is quick! This season is not starting out well collision-wise.
  6. I'm not sold on the leash idea. Not really sure what it's supposed to do and if it actually does the supposed function. That being said I did get a leash and will try to use it. If it's not too onerous then it's probably not hurting anything.

^^^ I promise to make it up there to take the level down a notch
  8. I honestly don't know. Have never seen a weight spec for it. That being said it is a stiff board and will easily accommodate the "weightier" rider.
  9. Bump. Price reduced. Hit me up!

    Yo Lci!!

Super bummed as well but if the season is going to as well as it started for me I will not complain. . . . ok, I will complain but it’ll be awesome :D
  11. Exactly. I'm probably at the point where it's my technique more than anything. The good news is that I am making progress.
  12. Nope. The flat front binding solved that problem. Rail? I don't rail :D But I can easily move from edge to edge. Very possible. I have a tendency to lean on the back foot and sometimes overcompensate. I'll keep an eye out for that. The interesting part is that I was doing really well without the hip rotation. I'll go to Mario Sunday School (MSS?) and see what we come up with :D
  13. Tried that. Patrollers didn't like it :D All kidding aside, I tried to rotate my hips forward during a heelside and washed out the back foot instantaneously. Just raising my head and looking where I'm going (aka across the hill) helps tremendously. I also see the benefits of "reaching for the knee" but the moment I tried to rotate my hips I washed out. Any ideas?
  14. How do you connect it to your boot/binding?
  15. We're on! FWIW I found that the thing that was throwing me off was the lift up front. I need a flat front binding. No lean/cant/squish made a difference as big as leveling the front binding. I guess you DO drive with the bottom of your feet. I'll leave the stabbing of the heels to a certain odd person. I hate the sight of blood.
  16. Another great way is to wash with alcohol, wait to dry and then put in the oven for a couple of minutes. Paint on the hot metal tends to stick better.
  17. It would be interesting to see how that holds up! In my experience spray on finishes do not last when you have things knocking into them. For a really durable finish I would sand-blast and then do a baked on finish like Cerakote. But honestly, I'm more in for the grunge look.

    Yo Lci!!

:( Girls swim meet. Next Saturday? Clarification: My girls have a swim meet this Saturday. Have to go see them swim. Can't go snowboarding.
  19. So this thread has devolved from news and legitimate concern to attacks, anger, and stupid videos. Can we please lock it out and get back to snowboarding? #tierdofseeingthisthread
  20. ^^ I try being a jerk to people in person. I'm old school that way.
  21. I had a very short day on Sunday. New boots were killing me. I have, though, managed to do something I haven't been able to do before. All this summer I concentrated on getting into better shape (Mario's voice saying "bend your knees!"). This Sunday through the foot pain I managed to get far lower. It was just the tip mind you but I definitely felt some different response. I'm stoked to tying that out again and improving this season. Feel like I'm almost there!
  22. Did you buy the 2018 boots? The ad said you can preorder and they'll ship early November. I ordered the previous model Track 700s on July and got them so I know the system works. I hope there's a way for Jim and Angie (or whoever) to give us some solid information. That would go a long way towards helping confidence.
