  1. Any joint surgery sucks. I would rather go through another colon resection than shoulder surgery. I blew mine to smitherenes on a stupid long board going way way to fast on pavement. The recovery was brutal and 6-7 years later it still reminds me that it still isnt or will be 100%. I have learned to live with it through work and riding style adjustmets. If you have to do it, do it. But be prepared to a painful recovery and learn to keep that hand off the snow. Good luck. Think Snow!
  2. West Wall it is. Its waiting for you Mario, I want to be there to watch. Back side Zuma bowl has some steep groomed faces that I think you will be interested in also. Break free of the LCI bonds and come to the dark side, well, at least the other side of Loveland Pass. Think Snow!
  3. No, nah, sorry. West Coast=suckage. Skillless hack. Think Snow
  4. Yes, we west of the Mississippi should bow down to the almighty skill and talent of our east coast bretheren. Skillless hacks we are, no talent, mere students of alpine snowboarding is all we could ever hope to achieve. All the true alpine masters heil from the mighty icy east coast. We out west all should just stop riding alpine, sell all of our gear and buy snowblades. Just pokin fun, don't get mad. East Coast Rules:biggthump Think Snow!
  5. Yes, last seaons 1st gen boards. Lots of changes made this spring. Things have evolved and only gotten much better. Think Snow!
  6. Well, there is a certain level of BS that surfaces here on BOL that MUST not go unanswered. The Bordy of freecarvers eh, not long ago, someone refered to me as the Hardboot Taliban. Love it, keep em coming. Going to play with big chainsaws and dead trees now, have a nice day.:) Think Snow! The Hardboot Taliban
  7. Jackass, well that seems a bit personal. Yes, I have ridden out east, and no, I don't care to do so again. Why would I when I have Colorado at my disposal. Ohhhh, I smell a east coast/west coast pissing match coming on. Jack and I have a bit of an understanding if you haven't noticed, keep it light, tounge in cheek. Its only snowboarding and for the record Jack and I have been trading jabs for many years. Thought you east coast guys had thick skin, guess not. East Coast Rules:biggthump GeoffV, you might want to refer to your autographed copy of the thesis for instructions on a proper response. Sorry about the thead derailment Todd. Think Snow!
  8. I forgot, its all about the specs and data, not the actual ridiing there of. I haven't actually taken the time the read the Jack Michaud Hardboot Snowboarding Thesis. Silly me.:D Less anaylazation, more riding. Think Snow!
  9. Its not really any stiffer, just larger variability on the sidecut offering up more vairability in turn size. Good to have options in my book. Don't let that larger spread scare you off. Its more than doable even on your narrow east coast trails. Pull up your skirt and get it on! Think Snow!
  10. It would definately be a pain in the arse to wear while sufing! Think Snow!
  11. She is definately a very "active" board. I think that the new non metal FC is going to have some heavy appeal to riders missing the "pop" of burly glass decks of days gone bye. It is a great performing combo of new shape versatilaty and old school energy. Race course capable, probably not. The dampness just isn't what it would need to be to get through a course, it is more of a high energy super fun rip stick for those who like a more active and energetic ride. This board started out as an experiment to see how new shapes would perform sans metal. We all loved it soo much its now a standard offering from Donek! Looking forward to spending some time on one of these throwback glass decks with a plate! Think Snow!

    Yo Lci!!

Done, see you misfits on the 11th. Think Snow!
  13. Yeah, you got the one I was hoping to pilfer after this springs testing. Glass construction, new school shape and NO metal. That board rips, enjoy her! Lots and lots of juice, this one will toss ya from one turn to the next, great board. Post up a pic of the base so that I can remember her. Think Snow!
  14. Lots of goodness in this new offering from Donek. Worked hard this spring getting some more "juice" into this GS offering. Whats the SCR, 14-20 or 14-24, hoping you went with the big boy version. I am a big fan of large variable side cuts for it gives you that much more turn versatility. If we get some early season snow here in Colorado, come out and test out your new toy. Nice deck, I know you are going to enjoy it. Think Snow!
  15. Garrett used to be a Summit County rider. He moved to LA some years ago. Always rode with a trademark white flowing lab coat when riding at Abasin. Not only super smart, a profecient rider to boot. Think Snow!

    Yo Lci!!

Yes, would love for you to be here Lee, its been a couple of years too long. Come on come all, it's an open invite to all. Bigs emial your phone #. Think Snow!
  17. How much on snow time did this SGP get, most of the new offerings are bacically the same in operation but what did you guys learn/change thought the testing process? Only if you care to share of course. And the one with the big monster nose, are you going to use that as a force multiplier to manulipulate and pressure the nose of the board? Think Snow?
  18. Nobody called the kid a sally, and the Kluger well, built for someone much heavier than I hence its unrideability for me. And Burners will always be a sought after classic, overblown or not. Afterburners pale in comparison. Other than having a similar shape its a completely different ride. There have been other manufactures that have produced splits (both nose and tail) other than Tinkler and Alpinepunk. Bamboo, Ill just give it time you will undoubtdly formulate an opposing opinion to mine purely for the sake of argument. What I think we might be suggesting to our young racer friend is listen too and learn from the old farts that have far more mileage than he. But hey, what the hell do I know? I am pretty confident that this gentle ribbing was done very tounge in cheek with no malice intended. Think Snow!
  19. Ive heard about your mad skills Bob but have never actually witnessed them. Yeah, I know, Coilers are great and Burners blow! There, does that make it all better for ya? Oh, and the new Bamboo Donek I'm getting is gonna be a pile too. Just thought I would throw that out there and beat you to the punch. After all these years of back and forth between you and I, I am still positive that you still couldn't hold my jock. Come on out, I'll lend you a Burner and you can show me how its done! Damn, was that my outloud voice? Think Snow!

    Gear Hate

No, not necessarily proud, but sometimes someone has to perform the difficult task of reiterating the obvious when the keen grasp of the obvious isn't in play. And hostile might be a bit too stong of a word. Just remember, these day your getting the kinder gentler Snowman! Exactly. If your going to softboot it up on this site, be prepared for the repercussions. Mabey Fin can develop some skin thickening potion for our thin skined brothers. Think Snow!

    Yo Lci!!

Once Bigs finishes his Bigs finishes his honey doo list for the summer. Lets spend a day riding the chain an bombing WP. Then, beer and food at the Fraser digs. Bigs its all up to you to call the date. Ive got room if anyone wants to overnight. Think Snow!
  22. Excellent, more room and one less obstacle to avoid. Don't be harshin my line! On a serious note, you have to come out for at least one day so that your apline snowboarding guideance counselors can make shure that your newly acquired skills havent wained. Gotta make certain that all that instruction and ridicule didn't go to waste. Think Snow!
  23. Aspen. It is unchallenged worldwide as being the best of the best. Just ask Joerg and Remo from Pureboarding where they love to go, and who has the best groom. If I could be a full timer in Aspen I would, but for now, 1 fun filled week with all my friends will have to do. Come to Aspen, you will NOT be dissapointed. Think Snow!
  24. SES 2011??? Think Snow!
