  1. Thanks for the reply jrazz. Unfortunately the immoral and illegal actions of everyone is now on full display to the world . Too bad that every clown now has their own circus " ASB is an addiction most of us can't seem to quit" You are referring to Hardbooting i assume.
  2. Unfortunately something as simple a a battery operated disc grinder with a 1/16 inch cut off disc would do it pretty quickly. The fact the cable is under tension would make it simpler than cutting the same cable not in tension. No matter the reason for this destructive behavior the fact remains that no punishment would ever compensate for the losses. Were all going to pay because insurance never really covers the loss it just spreads it around and your local bump will be sharing the pain with you.
  3. Real valuable contribution. Thanks for that .
  4. 2nd time in less than two years cable cut $10 million to replace cable and repair cabins . What kind of sick puppy does this kind of thing ?
  5. However observation and evidence are now fake to some people. You can never have enough evidence to convince some of the obvious.
  6. No day pass interesting. What about lessons and rentals ???
  7. Many are also acting like it's March 2019. Recent numbers looking more like March 2020. The good thing is testing has increased dramatically. Our federal gov't recently allocated millions for an isolation facility in Toronto to help those who can't safely self isolate in their own home. Would they do this if this were going to be over in a few months ??? Local bump still hasn't put forth their opening plan but deadline for early bird discount has been extended. I wonder what that means.
  8. TVR you have a positive attitude. That's good ! In Canada infection rates had flattened out but now that school is back and bars have reopened numbers are climbing again. The leaders of our two largest provinces have just met and are warning people to act responsibly not asking. I would like to share your optimism that this will go away after the election but it is on that point that we differ. Human behavior is the driving force at play right now and my faith that enough people do the right thing is being put to the test daily.
  9. Interesting that the snow train doesn't cross the border.
  10. You clearly haven't factored in an excellent golf season.
  11. Hey John is the aluminum trailer the covid equivalent to the tin foil hat ?
  12. Every run at Turner is doable. But it's unlikely you will ride top to bottom without stopping. Was able to do it on 4th day. Not having to worry about being clipped from behind is the real bonus and not having to constantly looking over your shoulder takes some getting used to. Half way up unload is nice the first few runs so nerves don't play games with your head.
  13. Sunsurfer lifted the lid on this can of worms not me.
  14. Put it in an Amazon box should get there ok but insurance is always a safer bet..
  15. John G you have a plan hope it works for you. What do you think of the fact covid lasts longer on cold and frozen surfaces. Perhaps a clean inside social distance venue is safer than the tailgate or picnic table out in the freezing cold ! You may be right about affordable rentals since foreign owners will have no chance of occupying their vacation property. Border closed to Canada till mid Sept can't see that changing any month in the near future
  16. Grew up with the "say no to drugs" thing now that it's "legal" all the old dealers and pot heads are now the ones with apparent cash to burn and opening new businesses to cater to their old buddies. Clarity is certainly the preferred state you never know when you might need to react to a real life situation.
  17. Your wife wants to know male or female liftie ?
  18. Mix in some other leaves and your skills may improve.
  19. Hit on by a cougar Eh! And your wife was probably worried about covid.
  20. Ha Ha just remembered this jewel ! Took two kids on a spring ski trip to Tremblant one was 4 the other about 7 . Loaded up the Mercedes wagon with every conceivable gadget and toy i thought i might need as well as all our skis and boots, didn't forget a thing. It took two trips just to load up the stuffed animals. It rained all the way there 4 hr trip turned int 5 1/2 because of fog. Hotel called home to see if i was still coming. Wife was home with newborn and assured them i would be there. (Pre. cell phone days obviously) arrived late and stressed but after second trip back to car to get the rest of the stuffed animals we were all tucked in for the nite. Next day tickets purchased up the gondola then half way down the first run they were ready to go home. Yes it was still raining but that's not an excuse to stop is it ? Back in the car half way home from the back seat comes the question that haunts me to this day. Why did we only do one run ?
  21. It looks like Canada is doing better because we accepted advice early on but as time goes on people are getting antsy. Restaurants and bars have limits on numbers and must distance. We have had outbreaks where younger people have partied in large groups so it's safe to say stupid lives in every country. Masks are required in public buildings and on public transit , most comply but still some resist because they are smarter???? The reality is the virus is around and all it takes is to think you can outsmart it and it comes back to bite ! I know how to make a sandwich so i have the food thing covered but if i eat it i may need to use the loo. To my way of thinking that's the common issue all resorts will need to address. Perhaps some of those fancy self cleaning toilets in use in Europe will be the thing that make opening safer than the present set up'. I know of one British Columbia resort that had to close it's parking lot after Covid hit because people were tail gating and gathering in unsafe numbers Back country access that should have been a safe activity was no longer allowed because of a few who couldn't follow simple rules It's not going to take a large group of people to screw it up big time for the rest of us!!!
  22. TVR Good for you ! You have committed to your plan . At this point i can't be as confident that any decision i make at this time given current circumstances would be safe given my age and the level of risk vs fun. The money back idea is the least one would expect given how serious the pandemic is. The opening of the Canada US border at the end of August is the next action that awaits a reaction before the process of evaluating the next level of risk. Don't think it's going to be fully open but will have to wait and see. I would imagine the snow shows that usually tour the country will not happen this year . I always look forward to talking shop with the great people that staff the booths and quiz them on their knowledge or lack of pertaining to alpine boarding. It's the best preseason stoke i have found to date. Hope you and your kids have a great season .
  23. Is it the 5 br for 2.9 m or the 6 br for 3.7m ?
  24. Would you be willing to go so far as to say like me you are Alpine OCD ?
