  1. It's like a day care that resorts use to entertain young kids by dragging them around on small Burton boards in a confined space Makes parents think their kid will grow up to be the next Shawn White. Also a promotion seen at ski and snowboard shows. Not likely a feature you would see @ Holiday mountain as the kids would freeze to death before parents returned. More like an ice cap !
  2. Yeah stupid business move. Quit selling to 70 year old's and focuse on selling to 4 year old's. Sorry Jack it's the Covid 19 !!! I still shudder when i walk by the Riblet daycare centres but if it gets kids outside you can't complain. Hopefully the coming years will have more people doing family inclusive activities and maybe resorts will have to make more of an effort to make it affordable.
  3. Well how did your 2008 ideas work for you and are you ready for a repeat ?
  4. I'm guessing well have to scream it to each other from distant chairs on the lift. Riders were every other 30 chairs @ MCC as it was further distancing would mean we would have to be at Schwitzer and Whitefish '
  5. Thoughts on how to plan for next season. Is it possible for ski resorts to open and practice social distancing . I usually put my boots on and head to the runs from the trunk of my car. I avoid going into the chalet on my 300 foot bump because they have carpet on the floor and the air quality is terrible. There is an unofficial ski in ski out urinal off one run but my bladder has not failed me yet and I have not needed to use it. Just wondering if it's possible to act responsible and still enjoy this great sport ?
  6. Say your prayers hope for the best ." Do not Covid your neighbours Life "
  7. Should this be the litmus test for antivaxers . If you continue to shake the very foundation I stand on I have no hope of surviving this pandemic. Lurch I'm disappointed you let me get away with spreading such falsehood and made light of my ignorance !
  8. All I know is Sunsurfer's toilet spins opposite of mine.
  9. I'm throwing this out there without giving D Redman a heads up How about MCC free to a kid with adult. Just not sure about how much to serve kids at the Brew Pub for social event ?
  10. Looking forward to the day when we can be tested to see if we have been exposed .
  11. Safe trip ! Wishing her the best.
  12. Today was really different. For 40 years we have moved sheep to a different barn for shearing and lambing. This morning we did it again but after moving the sheep and setting up lights and gates we left the barn and the shearer arrived did their work packed up the fleece and left. We stayed in the house the whole time returning to the barn afterward to disinfect the work area and vaccinate the sheep. Very strange feeling entering the barn afterward under such different circumstances. These are certainly strange times. The bad was we missed the experience that transforms the sheep from their wooly winter coats . The good is they are now clean and lighter ready to lamb in a few weeks . Tomorrows adventures await !
  13. I never expect perfect groom and I was quite satisfied with grooming from day one. No one can control mother nature but it was noticeable how the grooming improved over the 4 days. Starting earlier would be a bonus ! Half point unloading was nice to get familiar with Turner without the intimidation one feels when peering over the cliff at the top you call Turner Mt. Nice to do a half run to warm up and cool down. Sundance was good groom on top but approaching Main it got pretty choppy . I attribute that mainly to ground speed too fast for tiller ability. Understandable when coming off such a steep run and trying to make better time on the less steep trail. Grooming crew did excellent job given the pitch of the slopes and the acres covered each night ! Gates would be fun but feel bad foe someone having to set up and take down when the rest are freeriding over perfect groom and never having to look over ones shoulder. MCC was a great event I encourage everyone to put it on you bucket list.
  14. Top to bottom run @MCC without stopping. (On skis) Couldn't manage to do it on the Skwal had to give in to leg burn and stop.
  15. I was wondering about the reliability of data and how the initial covid 19 numbers compare to season flue deaths. Those susceptible to death from flue are virtually the same or similar to those who die from covid 19 ( massive generalization on this point ) It will be many months before verified analysis will be able to make heads or tales of the stats being collected. And then the obvious spin that will be used to argue afterward. Verifying cause of death for each case is important to have confidence in data and analysis moving forward.
  16. Thread doesn't necessarily have to fallow a poop theme
  17. Instead of a drinking challenge and an alternative to Fox and CNN lets try this. What was the worst thing that happened today then what was the best. The bad Manure spreader broke. The best it was almost empty !
  18. To get away from the day drinking (was thinking of starting a cocktail hour and my wife agreed ) perhaps volunteering for that trip to Mars wouldn't be as isolating as previously thought .
  19. Jack yes you are correct USA not the worst in the world just my world, North America . In Canada we are seeing recalls on masks and volunteers are sewing new elastics on old stock masks. Things you don't expect in North America. Luckily we have resources to deal with hiccups like this. Work is underway to make 30,000 respirators and if were lucky enough not to need them they will be available for those that do. Stretching out exposure is the best of a bad plan . Making sure the medical community has the best equipment should be everyone's priority. building capacity in the system is the main drive now by the Government. Workplace inspections are on the increase to protect workers concerned with health and safety. Farm workers still in short supply with an early spring in Ontario. Doctors are telling people not to do risky sports because orthopedics have limited access to operating rooms and beds. Ontario Premier is calling for more testing, testing, needs to be the priority 13,000 a day has to be the goal. Presently doing 1300 to 1500 per day. Anyone out there hiking for turns would be nice to see. Found some snow in the manure pile today would have been nice to play in but was a little too yellow ! Jack I wonder if Sweden's numbers are a factor of an older healthier demographics, Nursing home deaths are the main ones here at least for now. I wonder how the numbers would look if we subtracted average seasonal flue deaths.
  20. Bill Gates main point ( along with more testing ) was that if all the states don't do a total lock down were in for a longer fight. I would like to suggest that if all countries aren't playing with the same rule book were looking at a very very long time frame and perhaps country by country travel ban for an even longer time with many countries being give a no go status for years to come. Pass Ports will be irrelevant a negative covid 19 test will decide where you go and who you meet with. At a time when good government is critical it's unfortunate that in time voting in person will be much more difficult and the chance for fraud and or interference will be more prevalent.
  21. John hyperbaric chamber is not the kind of device that's going to help more than 10 people in the USA given the limited number that exist are you suggesting we all go live in a submarine ? If you want to sit at the bottom of the harbor I have a half dozen scuba tanks you are welcome to ! Nice that you are using your life experiences to rationalize what's going on. You have a knack for writing interesting tales and I would buy your book if you ever decide to write one but I would consider it entertainment you certainly have had some colourful experiences not so much science and fact.
  22. ( https:/www.covid-19 updates: Canada ) Shows world ranking congratulations USA still #1
  23. Every one should be concerned this directly affects MCC 2021 !!!!! Greta should be happy the air is much cleaner.
  24. And then you have the lifeguard peeing from his pedestal.
