  1. $75 dollar membership for a rope tow 45 years ago looks like a bargin today. I appreciate what you say about helping others but you can only do so much, Enjoy what you do while helping others we're not judging.
  2. Caledon really smooth ! they finished grooming in the morning so butter smooth for a race a few weeks ago. Race at MSL Moonstone this SAt. should be good.Brimacomb had washboard ripples a few weeks ago but finally got it smoothed out. Mansfield good Beaver Valley as well watch for upcomming races at private resorts volunteer on hill with OAS and check out the runs.
  3. You will never have to worry about going fast or slow only stopping!! learn that well and the mountain is yours.Thunder thighs help:lol:
  4. I have seen one apex plate in use and up close but did not have access to xray or hacksaw to check out internal workings. Remember that it is quite light so bulk doesn't necessarily mean anything more than structural integrity Not to say there isn't a loonie imbeded in it somewhere maybe in the tip as dampener like jack has hinted.
  5. Who wants a plate and how much will you pay ?? Got an old board laying around with good inserts ? I'll quote you a price !
  6. I think the results prove the next level in boarding will come with a well matched plate and board system. Agree or Disagree ??? The fact that not ever winner in every race rides one but the fact you can charge harder and not suffer the pounding that can throw you around will eventually convince most to embrace them. Challenge to all tinkerers "create an open source link to design and build the next generation plate for the masses".
  7. Had it once at Lake Louise droping from a flat to steep. Upon return the. next day skiing the same run we almost dropped into the same steep save for the avalanche sign. "Ski by braile" I like that one.
  8. Hell no! when the cameras switched from up hill to down hill not knowing who was comming out of the fog to win ! A bluebird day would have been nice. But You take what you get on a race day. Ready to start the debate on which plate will win the next World Cup race ???
  9. Last post i claimed womans hockey was played at a different level. Well maybe it was but the party after is of the same low quality all jocks enjoy. Cigars and beer rink side with Canadian olympic uniforms on oops! isn't this what used to get the ski patrol in trouble in the old days???
  10. Olympic boss tells women's hockey they have to get more competitive or else! Or else what ? kick them out like ski jumping ? I think female competition is always played at a higher level than mens. It's just that as a man i don't understand it. Enjoy your hockey girls it may not last much longer! Canada leads 2-0:biggthump:biggthump
  11. US 1 medal per 11 million people, KOREA 1 per 11 million GER 1 per 3.4 mill ,CAN 1 per 2.2 mill, AUS 1 per .82 mill ,FRANCE 1 per.62 mill, Norway 1 per.25 mill. Sort of changes ones perspective as to who the real winners are !
  12. I agree with prokopiw stop the waste promote the sports!
  13. A real push by the press last week may drag politicians into this debate soon. The point was made that helmets for the most part don't prevent concussion. I wear a helmet because i think it could lessen injury. If they are mandated by law will it advance the standards to include more protection from concussion ? For Sale Glass coiler: and 7 foam and plastic helmets.:AR15firin:AR15firin
  14. I've got some my kids hate and refused to wear after they discovered they were no longer cool. Old geezers get that way too! "Buy one that's really comfy in the colour you like. Female friends tend to buy the helmet that matches the jacket that match the boots that match the skis and then pay too much for gogles because only the really expensive ones match all four. Good luck!:AR15firin
  15. If you plan on any racing solid ear protection may be a requirement check it out first.
  16. Check out "Head trauma" thread some really good input from riders here. Your only safe till someone hits you not "if" when.
  17. If it can't be tinkered with it wasn't worth making in the first place ! Could a plate be attached to make heal and toe work in unison ??
  18. Any pics of your projects so far ?
  19. Putting a plate (i mean one raised off the board) on any board will improve riding chop it will improve any board but really improve a good board! I dare you to try !
  20. Bring everything you own. Sell it all and buy a :1luvu:new coiler.
  21. Untill you can ride a board like bruce can you might as well pick up a used glass board and enjoy the ride! No am't of metal whether aluminum or brass is going to make you that much better. On the other hand $800 worth of gold in Bruces hand will buy you bragging rites to a board that can whip your ass if your up to the ride.:lol:
  22. Anyone using this to go up mts ?? Nice quiet ride up for a free ride down. New olympic sport the greenest of all.
  23. If the weather doesn't turn around and the and hay bales start poking out John Deere or McCormick might have to come up with some new device ! Thousands of spectators turned away from boarding events due to instability of viewing area bummer for those traveling a distance to view friends in event.
  24. Still waiting for anyone to commit tinkler vs apex less than two weeks to decide.
