  1. Hi All, Need to do some off-loading. Hot Wish 162 - $50 + shipping in US and CA This was originally a freeride shape designed for hard boots, but I've ridden it with softies. Fun board! Damp but snappy. 24cm waist. Guessing about 9m'ish sidecut. Fantastic condtion for its age. Base and edges near perfect and never been tuned. Nidecker Act One Carbon Bindings S/M - $75 + shipping in US and CA Solid, stiff, light bindings in very good condition. Nice, racey look to them, like a fine sports car! ;) Once scuff in the foam on one highback, but that's about it for damage. Guessing these are good up to about a size 9 boot. PS- If any is looking for mid-fat skis. I have some Stockli Rotor 84's (169) and Scott Ventures (168, 94 waist) in near new condition, both with brand new Rossi bindings, that I'm selling. Prices negotiable and very reasonable.
  2. Still interested in these too, if still available.
  3. Time to prep your powder boards 1 to 3 ft of mid-week freshies in the forecast
  4. I think he has a Bomber classifieds alarm app set up. BTW, does anyone have info on how those Eldo's ride in comparison to Tankers or other long freeride boards?
  5. The Steeps should be narrower than the Plows, correct? Let me know if you have any in pretty good shape. Thanks!
  6. What's the sidecut on this? Thanks!
  7. I've seen one or two people using a backpack with skis--still not sure how they navigated the lifts. Unless it's the bunny hill, doing it with a snowboard just seems like a really bad idea on multiple levels. Just thinking about having that added weight on heelsides, the impact on your balance alone would make me worry. I've waited until 2yo--almost 3 for my son. Just got him a good board this year. I plan on bringing that, some strap on, Nordic-style skis and a sled to the local hill, as well as no preconceived notions or expectations about how it will all go! BTW-"Hawk" makes some really nice snowboard boots in toddler sizes (which are rare), available on Ebay for cheap.
  8. Too sad. I sent a few pieces of gear Shannon's way over the years. He was always so enthusiastic and a complete gentleman to deal with. RIP. My deepest condolences to his friends and family.
  9. The 177 I saw had the most problems--have someone look it over before shipping it out. (PS- The 172's that year were cap construction, but seem to be pretty solid. The 177's are the wide, heli-touring models.)
  10. Picked up one of them. Their in-store staff was okay to deal with. I do know that a few of their Tankers have some serious shop wear though--so buyer beware.
  11. Was at Pico last season. It was fun and definitely less crowded than Killington. Another mtn that might fit the bill would be Bromley--still in southern VT, but much less known to the masses. Magic Mountain is also a great hill and lesser known (and really bare bones in terms of amenities), but it's natural snow dependent and more focused on pow and tree riding/skiing. Berkshire East is a great mountain with some challenging trails and a local vibe. I've never seen it truly busy, at least by New England standards. It attracts a number of carvers and is the only place on the east coast that rents hardboot gear. You might be relegated to staying at a nice B&B though. Not many lodging options in the immediate area as it's not the type of destination resort that you find in VT. (Greenfield has some great restaurants, but be selective in choosing hotels. Some are more residential in nature. North Adams is an option too, but it's farther away and a tougher drive if the weather is bad. MassMOCA is worth a visit.)
  12. Hi Bob, Just FYI--for my favorite Donek Razors, I've had Sean add in the dampening from his Saber models. It's a real nice combo for the east coast.
  13. Drive right up 91--hit Berkshire East in MA (and ride with Dingbat and crew), maybe check out Mt. Snow mid-week, then make the trek to Sugarbush.
  14. I bought a older Tanker from him last winter. If we can find a way to communicate privately, I can get you his email address.
  15. Donek has better softboot boards than the Axxess--Razor, Saber, Hazelwood, Nomad. I'd shy away from all mountain boards designed for hardboots. Stiffness isn't your friend, unless you're a bigger guy. But then, many of the AM boards will likely be narrow for running softboots without crazy high angles. The few exceptions I can think of are some of the older, pointy-nosed SG's, which seemed to readily cross over the hard/soft divide. BX will be fun for the east coast, but they're biased towards groom and can be pretty stiff as well, especially in longer lengths. Best boards I've ridden in your chosen category: Tankers and Donek Razors, with Steepwaters and the Arbor A Frame receiving honorable mentions. F2 also has some good stuff that could work: Diablo, Eliminator.
  16. Yeah, check with your insurance. It's pretty easy to bring a lawsuit, and many defendants end up settling simply because it's so expensive to defend yourself. Actually finding you at fault is another matter. I imaging they would have to prove some sort of negligence on your part: 1. the ramp wasn't built to an accepted standard, 2. you didn't follow local ordinances/regs, 3. the ramp wasn't maintained properly, 4. there wasn't appropriate adult supervision that could have prevented an accident or lessened the damage, etc. Still, other than the insurance coverage, I'm not sure how having a ramp is much different than having a pool where all the local kids come over to swim. Though in our culture, a ramp may be more of a target.
  17. All of the above, and add Killington too. Just be prepared for the white ribbon of death at any of them.
  18. In the same boat; they all look good. For better or for worse, I'm somewhat limited as I probably should get OTG's. The light on snow does funky things with my eyes if I'm not wearing my glasses.
  19. Nice! Whaddya get from B? Always interested to hear news and reviews about different carvy softboot boards. I grabbed one of the 172 Tankers. Just arrived yesterday, minty fresh and still in the wrapper. They had an interesting APO Apocalypse a few weeks back too that had a +10 sidecut. The graphics were a little Lord of the Rings/80's Heavy Metal, but at under $200 someone snatched it up.
  20. Hey Tex, My apologies--I pulled out those bindings this weekend and they were in worse shape than I remembered. Probably best to keep them in the parts bin. An FYI on boards, I just saw Salty Peaks in Utah finally put their NOS Tankers on sale for a more reasonable price ($299). They're the 01/02 full cambered models in 172 and 177 (wide), made at the Volkl factory in Germany. After all these years I'd confirm the amount of shop wear they have, but could be worth it. The 172's are cap contruction, but supposedly that was a burly, damp year for Tankers.
  21. Hey Tex, No, I think Bomber's email system is having problems. I'll email you back sometime soon this weekend.
