  1. I seem to remember a problem with some model year Rad Air Tankers cracking. Are there known, less desirable model years for Tankers? Also, did they switch from cap to sandwich at some point? Thanks all! PS- I'm looking at this one.
  2. Good chance I'll be there too, from mid-morning to early afternoon. I'll be on my softy Donek.
  3. I'll let you guys enjoy my sloppy seconds from yesterday Seriously though, have fun. Kid duty for me today. I'll catch up with everyone on the hill soon enough.
  4. Going to be farking cold. My hands froze after 5 minutes loading gear into my car--but it was great. After a good grooming tonight, it could be epic. Enjoy guys!
  5. Suburban Bike & Ski in CT? Long shot, but I think one of the owners is on Bomber.
  6. Tempted by the Volkl. Wish it was narrower.
  7. Looks like snoyboard to me ;)
  8. Hmm. 10-14" of light, fluffy stuff? Bring something that floats!
  9. Hi Bam, I'm still interested too--and still local in western Mass ;)
  10. Hey everybody. Sorry, but this board has sold. (Hope the new owner is enjoying it!)
  11. Okemo this past Tuesday. Totally worth it. Two full top to bottom trails. Most of the time, I saw no other skiers or riders on the trip down. The season has begun!
  12. Have tomorrow off. Was considering Okemo, but worried about the re-freeze too.
  13. It's funny, most of the time I never notice the turbine is even there. (It's either not turning because of wind, the top of the mountain is in a cloud, or I'm on the other side of the hill.)
  14. Good stuff. Thanks everyone. I wasn't sure if it was more of a retail show or a trade show. Anyway, I'm mostly interested in scoring some lift ticket deals for VT and NH--which I can probably just do on eBay and save myself the tank of gas.
  15. Anyone ever go? Not really in the market for gear, but wondering if the lift ticket deals may be worth it...
  16. Uvex Wing Pro Race Helmet, $70 shipped in US--NEW--Medium, 57-58--fluorescent orange (posting approved by Fin) Was psyched to get this recently, but the shape isn't right for my noggin so it's going up for sale. Looks great though! Seems to run on the smaller side. New condition, never worn outside, in original box and tags still attached.
  17. Thanks everybody! Decided to go back to the local shop and try on the Uvex again after doing more research. Definitely too big. (I really hate that shop, btw. Typical, "Well we have one that we're trying to sell, so I'm sure it will work for you!" type of establishment. So I don't mind buying online over local in this case.) Ordered the medium--in fluorescent orange :p
  18. Hi All, Looking forward to the new season! I was thinking of getting a race-type helmet with full coverage to go along with my shortie this winter. Just curious, if you're not actually racing, does a race helmet still need that super-snug race fit to work correctly? I only measure 56cm, but tried on a surprisingly comfy Uvex Wing in a Large that fit very much like my normal recreational helmets--no real wiggle front to back--even thought it's supposed to be 59-60. Didn't have a medium for me to try, but I could grab either online. Tnx!
  19. I agree that Donek's Sabre and Razor boards are fantastic for what you're looking for. As for mass produced boards, think you're on the right track with Never Summer. I'd also consider Unity and Venture, both also out of Colorado. If you're an Ebayer, you can usually get good deals on some of the higher end Nidecker boards--which I have ridden (Legend, Platinum, etc.) and really liked. They tend to turn quickly, but have good stiffness and build quality. Good luck!
  20. Kind of semi-related--I just had a guy win a pair of skis from me on Ebay. Turns out he's from Russia and his bid was routed through a freight forwarding service in Massachusetts. It struck me as an odd arrangement, but I guess it's pretty common for overseas buyers to use such services. Still, there have been some problems with this company as several packages have "supposedly" turned up empty in Russia and, thanks to Ebay's policies (not Paypal's) the seller is often on the hook. It seems the other scam entails a buyer claiming that the item is not as described, getting a refund from Paypal, and returning a box stuffed with junk or rocks to you. Good luck to all of us!
  21. Fourth in line, for what it's worth. W MA local
