  1. Note: This posting has been Jim Callen approved. SOLD- NOS Rad Air Tanker 172 (2001/2002)- $300+ shipping Get it while it's hot. Still in wrapper. I don't even see any shop wear. Made at the Volkl factory in Germany, this is a cap construction model. Reportedly one of the burlier cores Rad Air produced. NOS Rad Air RS4 Bindings M/L - $100+ shipping Also NOS with tags still on them. Metal ratchets and aluminum heel cups. Made in Germany. Will sell as a package for $375+ shipping.
  2. Okay, you asked for it. And just for giggles, I'll throw in a pic of the 02/03 I just grabbed off Ebay--with NOS Rad Air bindings to boot!
  3. Awesome binding for pow riding and freeride boards!
  4. Hey Everybody, Lot's of activity hear all of a sudden! Looks like a few lines may have gotten crossed, communications-wise (and maybe a missed message in there too). Benefit of the doubt--and first dibs--goes to SMilin'Dave. GaryBergmann is second. Just a head's up--if there's interest, I also have a NOS 01/02 Tanker 172, still in plastic. I'll have to check with the moderators if it would be okay to sell it here. It would be a bit more $ than the one above though. (But I'm happy to satisfy everyone's Tanker Jones, if I can!)
  5. I tried an old Madd BX board that felt the same way--just not fun or responsive unless you were riding extremely fast. Wider waist widths plus shallow sidecuts and stiff flex (not sure if longitudinal or torsional is worse) can be a bear for softboots. I'm still amazed at how agile and carveable my growing Tanker fleet feels in comparison to most of the BX boards that I've tried.
  6. Thought I'd put this board in an updated post, and list some bindings too: SOLD-172 Rad Air Tanker "Vampire Wing" model--$200 + shipping cost to US--Believe this is an '04-'05. Overall very good shape. Some tiny top sheet edge chips sealed up with epoxy. Base has a thick coat of wax now, but only minor scratching underneath. Edges very good. I don't think the board has ever been ground. 25 waist, 9.25 scr. Fun board! Light, maneuverable--just that great long board Tanker feel. SOLD-Nidecker Act One Carbon Bindings (M/L)--$100 + shipping cost to US--Great all-around shape. No damage and only minimal cosmetic wear. Nice and stiff for softie carving. These will probably fit up to a size 9 mens boot.
  7. I have a custom Team 8 board in a 163. It was one of his last boards before the shop (in Maine) went out of business. Pretty narrow at 24cm, but it was indeed made for softies. Turns tight. Tough as nails. Nice nose for soft snow and medium flex. I modeled the design/shape after the old SG Cult, but made with a flex for softboots.
  8. Hey, what size are they? I think I have a "for parts" pair of the L/XL from the year they came out in the black and yellow color combo.
  9. Hey Jon~ no problem. Just let me know when you know ;)
  10. I've owned and ridden all of the above boards except for the Dual. Tough call. I actually think you'd like the sidecut on the Steepwaters if you plan to ride plates. The A-Frames are spectacular rides, but they may be overly responsive for true carving in hardboots except in the longest lengths. Don't believe the "straightline bomber" review of the Arbor Steepwaters. Remember, they're coming primarily from people who've been freeriding on sub-9m sidecut freestyle boards. Yes, the Steepwaters do like a little bit of speed to perform as designed, but the turn radius felt superb for carving. The weird quirk I did find with both the Steepwater boards was the slow, extruded base material. On low angle slopes it seemed to work against the speed and momentum you needed for optimal carving. Then again, these boards were really designed for the steep and deep, so I guess you can't call it a design flaw.
  11. End of season bump. Tanker still available!
  12. Just waiting for the check to clear on the Arbor and Hot...but I'd consider them SOLD at this point.
  13. Sale pending on the Arbor and Hot.
  14. Hey Boris! Never rode the El D, and only once rod the ATV--but it was quite some time ago. Compared to the ATV, I'd say the hot feels quicker edge to edge, tortionally stiffer and more precise. It's a turny board that still feels very solid and planted. Tough as nails too. If interested, I may be willing to do an installment plan on the Arbor. It's just sitting around anyway at the moment :)
  15. Okay, quiver expanded a bit too much this season. Spring sell-off is on! 162 Arbor Steepwater--SOLD $250+ shipping--Fantastic looking board. Near mint. Some base burn along the edges, but that's it. Only used twice. Great stiffness and sidecut for use with hard boots. 25.2 waist, 10.3 scr 163 Hot Wish--SOLD $50 + shipping--Built as a hard boot freeride board. Base and edges are near perfect and have never been ground. Top sheet in very good shape for a board of this age. Fun board with good camber and tons of life left, or add to vintage collection. 24 waist, 9'ish scr
  16. I guess it depends on whether folks mind the occasional soft boot carving topic coming up in the regular forums. If not, then probably fine to keep everything as is. I can say though, speaking as someone who has switched over primarily to Tankers and BX boards with softies, I still relate more to the community here than anywhere else on the interweb. The language, culture and likely the demographics, seem largely similar.
  17. What might you be looking for in trade?
  18. Maybe BlueB can remark on how the sidecut feels on the ElDiablo, but I've found that anything below a 10 scr will likely feel pretty turny and potentially tiring--especially in hard boots. (Don't get me wrong, I love turny boards, but they can be limiting.) I imagine many in this forum would even say don't do below 11 or 12. Just something to think about when ordering custom. I'm sure Bruce and Sean will get the flex right, but sidecut choice seems to be a mix of your predominant riding conditions and personal preference.
  19. Sale pending on the Nideckers. Sorry for the delay, folks.
  20. Hey Bryan, I do have some in Large too, though they are in rougher shape cosmetically. If interested, let me know and I'll go assess their condition more thoroughly.
