    Prepping

Canning is certainly a good step in prepping. Even if you're not growing your own foods, you can still can store bought. Although it may not be as economical, you can find vegetables and fruits on sale, or canning them during in season for out of season use.

    Prepping

The groceries run a "just in time" stocking program. There is nothing "nutty" about putting away food to sustain yourself and family. It doesn't always have to be a natural disaster, or the actual nut job terrorist. You can lose a job, or be disabled by a random car crash. If you can live on rice and beans, you can easily put away and store enough for yourself and or family. Some O2 absorbers, good food grade Mylar bags, and clean 5 gallon buckets, etc. Nothing wrong with a little overkill, as long as it's not having a negative impact on your life. Two is one, and one is none. There is a lot of good info to be had out there, and a lot of BS too. Shoot me an email Greg, I can send a few links to help.
  3. I see those people as two types. One who does it to genuinely help people, and the other to have a power trip. Sadly I've met more of the later than the former.
  4. 32 Forecast and Flows. Tried some strappy bindings once. Took too long and too damn bothersome to deal with. With my Flows, I step off the lift, give it a kick and slide my back foot in while reaching down to flip up the highback. No getting my ass cold strapping in.
  5. Rain-X is really nothing but wax.
  6. I've given up on being polite in situations like that. Not going to go out of my way to be a prick, but if you are acting ignorant, I'll let you know about it. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
  7. New team I'm working for. We'll be running two of the new Camaro in the Grand-Am GT class. The guys worked for almost 40 hours straight getting ready for our tire test in Daytona tomorrow. <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F8BQhzmbRqE&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F8BQhzmbRqE&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
  8. Hell if alpine and carving become too popular I'm going to have to get a monoboard. I like being the black sheep, and enjoy it being a niche sport.
  9. For that much money I'd buy a Tanker and never look back. Waaay over priced.
  10. I received the same canned response.
  11. The Go Pro cameras are getting pretty good. Outside with good lighting, you'd be hard pressed to find fault with one. The weather proofing on them is a big plus. Takes a cheap SD card and AA batteries you can find anywhere, even at the bottom of the hill in the lodge.
  12. Damn it! I'm jonesing for some snow! Freaking Ohio.
  13. I once tried the Thermoflex from Deeluxe in my Malamutes. They were too soft for me, lost all lean stiffness.
  14. We were there for a week, stayed in SLC. It's decent drive to Pow Mtn. but worth it.
  15. I wouldn't hesitate to hit Powder Mountain. Alta is skier only. Snowbird is a more park oriented mountain. Never been to Snowbird, but Powder Mountain was fantastic. Was empty when I was there.
  16. Heck, as salvage it's still worth enough for a good house, maybe two.
  17. I also use the Snowpros on my Tanker 192. Adjustment for cant and lift is slow, so don't think you'll get a lot of adjusting done on the hill.
  18. Need some 23 sized liners for my Track 325's. Looking for some Thermoflex liners.
  19. Damn, now if that lottery payment would come in I'd be set.
  20. Saw this over at TGR, thought I'd throw it up here. http://www.tetongravity.com/forums/showthread.php?t=174194
  21. Russian, not sure. Eastern Europe, at least. Had a chance to see one of the boards last winter, nice bit of kit. Enthusiastic guys, stoked about building their own boards. I didn't ride it as I rung my bell severely that night on some nice Ohio boiler plate.
  22. It's on the current trail map. Shaded green areas at the edge of either side.
  23. Who's to say it won't happen to YOUR resort/hill? When does it stop? What happens when it IS the most popular run or runs? I will never go to Wisconsin to ride or ski, but matters to me. All it does is reinforce the divide that exists between the two groups.
