  1. May have seen him in passing today. Grey beard, wearing a Killington jacket, orange Head boots I think.
  2. Not sure how those are built. These had a nice thick area up front, probably a .25" or more. It was not compressible in the slightest. What it did was push my heel back into the boot. Made a huge, positive, difference in the way they fit for me.
  3. Where would one look to purchase these? Used some this weekend that were nice and thick up front, and it made a huge difference in how my boot fit. Want some for future moldings. Google is not being my friend.
  4. I wouldn't call it weak. Wanna get hit by one?
  5. I see both sides of the argument, no doubt. But I wouldn't go to a football forum if I didn't want to know the score of the Super Bowl. There's always gonna be that guy.
  6. I know it's pretty close to ECES, so I don't expect to see many, if any. Plus it's K-Mart. Work interferes with everything this year so this is my only trip. Making a trip to the Starting Gate on my way, for a super duper boot fitting. So I may get a half-day in at Stratton on Sunday.
  7. I find it incredible there is no catch fencing or padding in those areas. Hell even going 20 or 30 mph you'd hurt yourself hitting an unmovable steel beam. At 80 or whatever, he had no chance. Negligent at best. RIP, and condolences.
  8. So far interesting, other than being what seems a Samsung commercial at times.
  9. Just a tick over 25 and I'm in a 23 here. 24 was just too sloppy for me. Finger test for me results in just a hair over one finger. Track 325.
  10. Here is the team car. Pretty much the same. This effort is keeping me off the snow this year so far. Hope to get some days in during February.
  11. Well, here it is in paint and decals. Ready for the 24 Hours of Daytona.
  12. I don't feel insulted. Just another idiot with a mic. Should prove to be amusing during the Olympics.
  13. I swear, you alone must keep that man in business. Or at least in beer money.
  14. Yeah, ok. That sounds like a better idea.
  15. And I suppose there is no reason you couldn't mix it up also, with yellows under toe, and blues under heal or vice-versa. . Wonder if that would work out to be in between to two.. Hmm.
  16. Well as for the step-in receiver, perhaps making it out of aluminum as before, but machine the area that wears the most for a hardened steel insert. Wouldn't need to have the entire hole that the Fintec pin rides in to be all steel. Make it fairly thick at the bottom to register into the aluminum, then drill it and tap it. Come at it from the outside with a countersunk screw to hold it in. Sounds complicated, but nothing that Bomber Industries can't handle. Maybe I'm just crazy.
  17. I miss Targhee, you guys are killing me!
  18. Well as usual it all boils to, it depends. For our little bump here in Ohio, I'm more concerned with too many people, than with not enough degrees. I'll happily go when it's -10F out, as long as I can move up the lift and down the hill. Standing in line then sitting on the slow lift at that temperature will certainly dampen my enthusiasm. If I'm out west on a vacation with limited time to ride, I'll suck it up and go out.
  19. In regard to the Flows. I did find, obviously, that my Flow boots fit in them perfectly. The problem was they were crap. Too soft for decent forward lean. I was crushing them. The 32 Forecast I ride now fit damn near perfect in them. I was lucky, although it took a day of getting the strap height just right. I think the boot is the biggest difference, hardware-wise. Honestly though, you ask 30 people their opinions, I suspect you'll get 30 different answers.
  20. The US way of shoe sizing is random at best. As you noticed, Mondo is an actual measured number. I measure a 25 on one foot, and a 24.5 on the other. Make sure you check both feet. Now, I tried a 25 at first and it was way too big. Next year I went to a 24, which was slightly better. This year I finally went to a 23, and it feels great. These were all Deeluxe boots. I found it a lot easier to fit into a smaller shell, than it was to make a larger shell work. Get yourself to a good bootfitter. Like jp1 says, it's worth a drive.
  21. It's amazingly simple looking too. Surprised it took this long for it to be realized.
  22. Maybe I'm missing something, but I see no reason why these couldn't be used as a step-in. Obviously there would be a little redesign on the sole blocks.
