1. Carving the Black!! Very impressive riding Johnasmo! You obviously had a large breakfast with lots of HAM, cause you are riding like a "Hard Ass Mofo!" It looks like you are one with the Coiler Nirvana. That was not exactly perfectly smooth snow. You make the Pixelated suit wearing tribe very PROUD!! I assume that Jeff W. did the camera work...Excellent job! It is a rare day that they have those runs groomed... So very nice. Your video made my days here feel a bit longer...But thanks for the Stoke! Ride Hard my Friends!
2. I am currently a bit over 7000 miles from my motorcycle, however I have been very fortunate to get ahold of this fine bike.
3. West, Thank you for the great updates! You really do a great job capturing how the day was. Since I am unable to be there this winter your updates are feeding my vibe. Thank you! I really miss riding up there this season with the WTF folks. Keep up the great reports and have a great winter! Thanks West! Cheers, David
4. Blue 2005 Yamaha FJR1300 is mine Red 2000 Honda VFR800 (I think?) is Johnasmo's Yaak Falls, MT
5. "Wobbly Goblin" was actually in reference to a different aircraft... the F-117, which has been retired. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lockheed_F-117_Nighthawk The real question is... how does it ride? Is it everything you hoped for?
6. Tell us more... what makes this one so special... other than the looks? Some specifics please...
7. Funny you should say... Knit 1-Z... I have got to find me one of these...
8. The photo was taken by Scott Spiker at Big Mtn. (Whitefish) during the winter of 1990-91(or 92??). On the cover (& 1-2 inside) is a younger dredman.
9. Guess who is on the cover and what resort the picture is from?
10. Red coat, yellow Coiler, that was me. Nice to meet you Nick. I rode Basin Saturday, Wildflower was in great form till noonish, then the skidders had it pretty slicked off. Thank goodness the holiday traffic is going home today! Hopefully soon I will actually cross paths with another carver. Not sure when I will be back up, my son has a pass there so I am fairly certain it will be soon. Cheers, David
11. Anyone around this weekend? Should be there at 9ish. I was at the basin on Super Bowl Sunday and the women's dh was so fine!
12. Brilliant work! Thanks again for the greatest thread of the year! Cheers!!
13. John posted this yesterday but it did not refresh the WTF thread... Ahh sweet summer solstice...
14. Sorry G-Carve, no vids from last night. We finished up just after 9pm, but this part of Montucky is so far north, it stays light till nearly 10pm. Makes for a long day of playing! Glacier National Park in the background of the first picture, Top of Ptarmagin Bowl, Climbing at Stone Hill, just south of Eureka, MT. Not too shabby of a weekend!
15. Hiked and rode the Big tonight with my son. Only had to walk on dirt for less than 100 yards. Temps in the upper 60's on top. Pretty fine riding for June!!
16. We have 18"+ on top of the Big in the last 2 days so going to stay here for some pow. Enjoy!
17. Beautiful shapes and wood design! Spectacular! Great work and beautiful art!!
18. What a super Silver Saturday!! 16 inches of super fun!! It was great to see Steve and Russ. A very grateful thank you to Steve for letting me borrow a binding after I broke a heel bale. Thank you very much Steve! Sounds like another Silver Saturday is headed our way next week! 12 or more inches and the Whitefish boys will gladly come back! Cheers, dredman
19. We are trying to find the happening spot.... Seems pretty quiet in the Silver Valley.
20. Looks like Johnasmo, Skwallguy and I will be headed over tonight. Snowing like crazy in Whitefish now! Satellite looks like it is snowing there now! See ya tomorrow! Cheers
21. We must not forget to include that we also got to ride with Cosmic Randy. A super nice fellow, riding the widest Donek Freecarve I have ever seen! But he was a big guy so it fit him well. Randy if you are out there in BOL land it was great riding with you! Till next season.
22. Sunday was an EXCELLENT day of carving!!! Sunshine and super groomers that lasted all day!!! ohhh-so fun!! Sounds like everyone made it back home safely last night. The Seely/Swan Valley was so heavily laden with deer and elk that is was a very slow trip home, but Johnasmo and I simply slalomed and carved turns through the meat gates.. What a perfect end to the season, Sunshine, Great Groomers, and Excellent Friends! Thanks to you all!! Till next season! I am sure there will be videos to follow from Johnasmo! Stay tuned..
23. Who would have thought we could have mid-winter carving conditions at the end of April?!!! Wowee!! Sunshine and nice groomers all day long! It was great having the Montucky crew all together again. We had such a great time that we are going to do it again tomorrow!
