  1. Wait a minute, someone else has my tattoo? And with regard to the 10% of the oversized population, Id say our snowboards are usually a reflection of ourselves:rolleyes:

    1st longboard

my girlfriend wants a double kingpin (s9 sidewinders). I'm pretty jealous, because they seem like really great carving trucks when ive tried them out in the store. Anybody else try them? she wants the longest board (38) they make with these trucks (the sandwedge). I might have to steal it from her over the summer if she does get one:eplus2:
  3. ^why I'm glad to see more freestyle skiiers... skiiers demanding softer boots with more flex = ski boots more like alpine hardboots:biggthump
  4. The sidecut is kinda small, the board's got about an inch or two of camber, the waist is really narrow, and I got the slightly softer flex... recipe for a very turny board:D which is good since some of the slopes around here are very narrow. If I really lay it out, I can bleed off speed quickly. My next board will be bigger, now that I've gotten used to alpine riding I want something I can really rail on (for more than a split second before changing edges again:eplus2:) curiously enough, the longboard has the same sidecut as the overdose...

    Custom Boards

Very cool, Gleb! I like the "nametag" at the bottom, but I don't remeber the queen of hearts having that waistline in the movie:confused: Here's mine from Pogo, done in chalk.
  6. My very small quiver picture... Quality over quantity:biggthump ^what I have to tell myself so I dont feel so bad about being too poor to own any more:o Pogo Longboard 175, Pogo Overdose 162, and Arbor BLunt 45"
  7. Deeluxe for Steve:biggthump im surprised, not too many people on UPZ
  8. its my glove bucket, attatched to my boot bag or lately my bindings as i walk to the mountain dressed up and ready to go. dont waste no time with bags of crap:nono:
  9. A boarder saw a couple of alpine riders one day and wanted to learn how to do that. He signed up for a lesson at Jiminy Peak and wound up with one of the alpine riders as his instructor, Mr Espi. Dave here proceeds to turn him from full on skidder to softboot carver in one run, taught on his mini! You could almost see the lucky boarder's boots get harder and his tail square off when Espi was through with him.
  10. you know as well as i do that chicks dig goggle tans, espi:cool: rock on:biggthump
  11. while we're (slightly) on the subject of poles, i think its not fair that skiiers get poles and snowboarders have nothing. we need something that can push us through the snow... like... a paddle! and that grips the ice... like spikes... we need paddles with spikes! Maybe if we introduce these to the snowboarding market the mountains will have their hands too full to deal wit their carving bans:eplus2:
  12. Gahh i missed out big time... and its really embarassing... Genious steve here slammed his hand in his car door last night, and nearly lost a fingertip too! i had a nice bandage signed by everone who witnessed it, but unfortunately i didnt want to risk laying my hand on the snow today. Looks like a good time:biggthump too bad i wasnt there... that skiier wouldnt have made it down to complain about the in control rider in front of his freight train self:boxing_sm:eplus2:
  13. I still get chatter every once in a while if im tired and not paying attention. What causes it for me is pushing the board down the hill, thinking im pushing it to accelerate through the carve. The remedy is pulling the board back up the hill, because thats really where I want it to go.
  14. awesome video, looks like a great time:cool:
  15. I suspect he doesnt really run his company anymore, probably just rides and lets the suits handle all the marketing/advertising/budgeting crap. Thats what id probably do. I wonder if Burton will ever start making carve specific gear again? Probably never like what they had before, but maybe something BX ish or AM carver ish?
  16. the only burton clothes i can complain about are the gloves... they dont have a good ultradurrable hardbooter model
  17. thats so sad, whats going to happen to the fashion- i mean snowboard industry if burton shuts down for a while? seriously, i dig their outerwear (it looks the best) but i dont think ill be riding their boards again anytime soon:sleep:
  18. The style required to ride symetrical alpine boards looks way better than asym boards (and softboot carving style)
  19. ohh and to avoid getting caught... if someone's chasing you just carve back up and theyll never catch you:biggthump
  20. at what confidence interval? was a placebo group involved? i need more data in order to determine whether i should accept or reject H null:smashfrea
  21. Ill be there! where and when are we meeting? are we just going to look for the bright shiny pants and go that way? looking forward to riding with Queequeg for the first time, and Cail n Espi again. not paragon, he makes too many mom jokes. and it hurts my feelings:( see you guys sunday!
  22. pretty sweet! but at the same time it made me feel a little sad, because i always dreamed about opening up a mini ski place on this beautiful little ridge across the mohawk between amsterdam and scota... now i know it didnt work:( http://www.nelsap.org/ny/eagle.html
  23. $$ is out of my range, unfortunately:( besides that, im on pretty narrow terrain most of the time so the Overdose is a fine board for where i ride anyway.
  24. were you the one on the Blitz at ECES this year? How much would that go for?
