Plastic stock insoles should be kept or removed?
charliechocolate replied to Hug Masso's topic in Carving Central
That's a bootboard. It's supposed to provide a flat surface for your liner to sit on. You may feel the ribbing through the liner and insole if they are low-volume and lack much padding. It might be uncomfortable or you might not care. Try it out. -
Who's stealing? All materials seem to be still be credited to the original authors.

Carving Snowboard manufacturers & websites - March 2024
charliechocolate replied to SunSurfer's topic in Carving Central
Amplid makes softie carvers. -
UPZ MP 26, F2 Carve RS bindings. Happens occasionally with the rear boot only and the rear binding has a shim on the heel block for lift. It's never an issue with Race Ti bindings. I've played around with how tight or loose the toe ledge sits against the bail but I don't know if any of it helped. I have no clue what causes release but suggestions are welcome.

B leaves for Europe and we get the good stuff, probably not a coincidence. -
Ya'll rag on the straightliners but no one talks about them extreme carving types. They're absolute hazards too. To be fair, those EC turns are cleaner than anything I can ever do.

Is anyone able to identify this board?
charliechocolate replied to Hambishham's topic in Carving Central
Rabanser race SL, circa 2017. You can give them the serial number and they may be able to pull up specs for your board. -
What used to be their domain is no longer registered and there hasn't been a new post on any of their social media in years. Hope Mig is alright.

Less likely to have happened on softies, just saying -
At no point in the video was the skier downhill from you, but I guess you can't be surprised that straighliners don't know the code. Good to know you're mostly fine.

Recommendations for soft boots & bindings
charliechocolate replied to lamby's topic in Carving Central
I spent a day in a pair of Burton Driver X's with some stiff Intuition liners and I'm satisfied so far. I think the liners are stiffer than the boots, at least at the cuffs. That said, you can probably get away with most any pair of boots as long as you can get a liner (likely a ski-oriented one) in there that has a suitable flex. I like that I can apply forward pressure on the shins now without the the boots just folding. -

If it's too good to be true, it probably is. 90% off most items and not even $70 for all models of boots? This site has only been around for 21 days and whois data returns nothing. There's timers on everything from the sale itself to holding your items in the cart almost coercing you to hand over your CC info without a thought. Thanks, but this is a hard pass.

I've been itching to go. It's not right to end the season with a rain-out. -

It happened when I popped out of my binding the other day on our last run. I'll take you up on that buckle, thank you. -

Surprise pow day! 15 cm on trumpeter, deeper higher up. I was stuck on the Lions chair for a good 12 minutes 200 meters from the top. It started moving and stopping every few inches until it slowly and steadily crawled up to the top. They closed it down for two hours and with Midway not running, I guess the racer kids had most of the morning off. It had snowed a bunch and Lions was closed long enough for me to get a couple of pow runs mid day. Should make for pretty good soft pack tomorrow. -
Not Zermatt but Davos. This place https://www.skiverleih-davos.ch/english/index.php has rentals and if you go to the rental booking link here https://easyresv3.wintersteiger.at/index_easyrent.php?shop_id=100293, there's an option specifically for alpine gear

Yup. The bindings are set up for use with my Dalbellos. I think we have the same BSL so take it for a spin next time if you feel like riding regular. -
Have Cody load up on dairy queen ice cream cakes and find out.
