New Board porn 2014/2015

Legendary "Pure Carve" 175cm

F2 Carbon with NOS "Conshox"

Sims Burner 197cm "The big daddy of old school DH boards"

I have only had one other Ogasaka, it was way to soft for me. This one is

pretty beefy, I might get away with riding it.  Their construction quality is superior for a production board.

I am VERY impressed.  Base structure is incredible.  Japanese quality is very impressive.

My new toys for season. Virus Intercepror wide 173cm  and Coiler Angry 160 cm. I hope these boards help me with toe side turn initiation. I have been stuggling for last two winters after my foot surgery, any of boards does not work for me anymore. If nothing they have right width 19cm to allow run smaller angle on front foot.

My first Coiler as well and my first custom snowboard arrived today!

178 Nirvana Balance 23 wide 12-14 (Flex and taper left to Bruce)
Cryptic runes on the sidewall say: T178 NFCB 015DW - 6.5 + 5
Base- flat, Edges -10, No Detune

Bruce Said, "I tested it on Fri pre top install. Bit stiff for me at 170 lbs (-:
Was a fun ride as conditions were sugary snow over ice after the warm spell. I liked to 23 wide as narrow boards that day got bogged down. Grip felt great. On heel turns I really had to push as would be expected. Was a lot more rideable for my weight than I thought it would be.
Methinks you will like it"

Yup, it's the year of the "woodie".  It matches my favorite surfboard.  :biggthump

Too bad no snow at Paoli Peaks yet!

I don't know that.I recall the red/black version being referred to as the "Hasbro"? If ogasako made them it would be a plus

Pretty sure that was "Hasco". The only thing I see with that name is this company: http://www.hasco.co.jp, and it doesn't look to me like they're a manufacturer, so I bet they contracted with a factory to produce them...could have been Ogasaka, or maybe some other contract builder.

Jeez I take a couple of years off after getting hurt and the sport goes all Terminator and ****. Some beautiful hardware in this thread.

Imagine how I feel. I drifted out of all this about a decade ago for a variety of reasons (lack of people to ride with, inconvenience, cost, shifting interests, several crappy winters in a row, plus it had just gotten a bit stale for me). I got really into motorcycles in the meantime, and last year started thinking that I really should get back into snowboarding to keep myself from losing my mind in the winter. Bought a Bash Badge to Smuggler's Notch and have gotten out several times this winter, and am enjoying myself again. Of course, all my gear is well over a decade old. Favorite board is still my Prior 180 custom GS, narrow and stiff with a LOT of camber; yesterday I also broke out my old Mistral Sonic 167 (rides like a smaller version of the Prior, except that it's badly in need of a tune!) and my old '97 Burton Factory Prime 5.7-180 (still a very fun board).

My point in mentioning those is that you see what I'm working with. When I got out of the game, titanal was just beginning to make its way into boards. It's fascinating to see the considerable evolution of alpine board shapes and construction. Some of the stuff posted in this thread definitely looks pretty Terminator-esque!

I used to think my 6.7/180s Factory Prime was the best board ever... last year I bought my custom Jasey Jay SB, now I tried my factory prime back and I will sell it, it's crazy how the JJSB is much more fun to ride, even with the interface...

Oh, don't get me wrong -- my Prior is a much more fun board.

And I've ridden the Burton 6.7 and several other Factory Primes; the 5.7-180 was something special. Burton got a lot of things right with that board, and it ended up a more fun board to ride than any of the other FPs I tried.
