Official Start of the Season

good start to the season. last year buck didn't open till 12/5/09.

snow was really good for the start of the season. contemplating breaking out the alpine board. the ski racers were carving nicely. jealous bobble.

olympic dreams had skiers, crossroads had some boxes, milkrun had a jump and a kids sitting on the run. spent time on crossroads going close to the tower. definitely crowded and kids shooting back and forth from crossroads and milkrun. had to put on the brakes.

felt really good to be out.

Citizen Kane

Evening

snow was decent. soft and quiet.

when driving home it was snowing. when i got out to buck it had warmed up to about 32F and started to drizzle slightly. had to wipe my goggles numerous times.

teachers pet was open so it wasn't as crowded. they still have the boxes out on crossroads.

Low T?

Time to start bugging Bruce for my board I guess......

I hope that improves my enthusiasm (or lack there of) for winter.:o

what if i were to tell you they have a hot lifty-chick?

Morning

brought out the alpine board. was on the run just before 9 am.

snow was unbelievable for this early in the season.

at the top of crossroads.

spent most of my time on crossroads. they still have the boxes. it wasn't as crowded as i expected for a holiday but i was looking uphill on nearly every turn.

did 2 runs on milkrun - there was a snowgun going near the fence after the nastar chute that someone told me it was icy.

i did one run on olympic. at that point i was extremely tired and took myself out on the run - slammed hard on my chest. the snow was excellent over there. just didn't have the stamina during a turn. should've attacked that run from the beginning. tomorrow's project.

met jimmy (?) from g-team. ran into rick.

Morning

snow was decent on crossroads. snow guns were going on milkrun but then were shut off. olympic had some large mounds out near the snowguns. the boxes are still on crossroads.

spent most of my time either on crossroads or in the chalet (dialing in the gear). my early morning runs on crossroads were good. went down milkrun and it was choppy. i did the backside run - the chute at the top was not so good. rest was was icy. didn't bother with olympic.

the place got crowded with skiers doing drills. on my very last run i waited and waited and waited. bob d had already gone down the hill and back up the chair. when i left i got maybe 2-3 carves then sketched to the bottom.

Morning

awesome day! started out at 30F and warmed up to about 38F. i thought it was going to be one of those crappy flat light days. despite the warm weather, the snow was good. at one point it turned hero. (bobd -- should've brought your board.)

crossroads was great. the boxes were off the run. i saw ski racers craning necks on the chair. later around 10:30 or 11 AM they brought back a couple boxes. the ski patrollers cordoned off half the run. despite this it was still good to ride.

milkrun was great. especially at noon. snow had softened and was just fun. it felt like things were coming together. i'm sure there will be hell to pay tomorrow morning.

olympic had large rollers on skiers left. i went down it but didn't feel too comfortable with it. joe d. was cutting through it but he was on a shorter board.

warners scuff, jessie, myself did warners. just once. snow was good. could've done a couple more... just didn't go back.

all in all, a great day.

All Glory

jessie had a close run in with a skier. she related the details. it sounded scary. if i missed something, jessie will fill in the rest.

i was going down crossroads and this skier came up to me. he was within arms reach. i yelled "Hey!!!". he didn't stop so i bombed down the hill to catch up to him. i got to him in the lift line and turned to meet him. i said "you know, you were way too close". the skier took off his helmet and goggles to face me and...

<object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dfs1UaJdoQU?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dfs1UaJdoQU?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>

... and the skier was very courteous and apologized [in monotone]. all glory to the hypnotoad

Morning

yeah, like he said

I think today was the definition of variable conditions. Powder, Ice, cord, soft groom and whatever else you could come up with. I should of brought the soft board but took the Coiler instead. Warners was good but that was about it. If they do a good job of grooming tonight Sunday should be great.

didn't even THINK about hardboots.

when i pulled into the parking lot at 8:45 am, there was a lot of people already there. i went directly to the ski school and got my ticket. when i walked pass the main office, there was a long line. i smirked and thought about telling people about the ski school but then how does that help me?

glad today was sunny. if this day was gray, i dunno if i would've stayed much more. i just don't get thrilled in softies.

crossroads skiers right has icy rollers. skiers left near the towers was really soft. the middle lane was slightly more firm than the left.

milkrun the winrows (sp?) were noticeable. okay for softboots.

that one run down the backside actually had powder. it wasn't groomed down. it was fun going down it but when you got close to the bottom near teachers pet lift, there were mounds of ice. it was nasty.

warners the only run where carving was possible. erik was getting his carve-on. people started showing up. it was the one run where everyone wanted to go. the lift line was definitely shorter.

Looks like we got ourselves a movement

I like this perspective. Normally in these shots, I look like a little dweeb. Even Jesse looks as tall as Karl.

Anyway, I was reminded of...

,just walk in say "Shrink, You can get

anything you want, at Alice's restaurant.". And walk out. You know, if

one person, just one person does it they may think he's really sick and

they won't take him. And if two people, two people do it, in harmony,

they may think they're both faggots and they won't take either of them.

And three people do it, three, can you imagine, three people walking in

singin a bar of Alice's Restaurant and walking out. They may think it's an

organization. And can you, can you imagine fifty people a day,I said

fifty people a day walking in singin a bar of Alice's Restaurant and

walking out. And friends they may thinks it's a movement.
