  1. Rode AM. Finally some good conditions for carved turns. Firm, flat, held an edge well. Left at noon when started getting tired and snow was softening.
  2. Went out this afternoon skiing with my kid. Cold 21⁰F and windy, and think there were more snowboards than skis. I too forgot my leaf rake. Snow was fast and form - Gotta ride some Alpine gear soon.
  3. Rode Wednesday morning on my freestyle board. Flat light, but found the runs firm, carvey and relatively flat. I did get thrown with some unexpected rolls at the bottom left of Olympic. Racers were def not slipping after. *Shrug* Now that I know what to expect, will break out of the carving board. Lift rides...Everyone was so pleasant.. must be the morning retired crowd? Got kid some skiboots, but not likely going to brave the temps this weekend.
  4. Cloudy morning at Buck.Good snow, low wind, and smooth conditions. 1st day for the season and I am easing-in by chosing skis. Met 2 visiting carvers from Lacrosse, swell chaps, I think in town for a race. The improvements to (topography, terragen, landscaping) to the landing zone at the bottom, and the top make a huge difference!
  5. Participated in the Buck Hill rattlesnake banked slalom event on my freestyle board. Was good for all ages and despite some underlying ice, the slip between courses kept in it more granular. Saw some old friends and possibly made some new ones. My boot sole peeled 1/2 off, so now I need some shoe glue. My 30.01 first run was the fastest, however made some mistakes on run 2, and landed in 2nd place for Men's Master class. (Some solid competition!!) Got a swag bag with hats socks, shirt and hoodie. Also a huge printed award card. Was a very well organized event!
  6. Travel, work, and persistent cough has kept me away, but was good to get out today. *high-five* Skis were a good choice for me with the low contrast light - Milk Run was pretty flat, but the race course residue made a dark pattern that gave illusion to rolls.
  7. Snow was great today! Consistent, firm, and dry like mountain cord, so carves held well. No clouds and lots of smiles from me. Kiddo did well with ski lesson too! Hi @flatcokeNice to meet you! Yes - looking forward to riding. Sunday AM is often my best time, but hoping I can also get out more T/Th over lunch once the semester begins. @bobbleOn my way out, met another guy who just acquired his first alpine board! We might get our numbers back up again for the Sunday morning carve-carve-fest.
  8. 11-26-22 Sunny. Few crowds. Soft but still carvy snow. On the freestyle board.
  9. Thanks for the journal Bobble. I need to get out sometime soon.
  10. My first day of the season was a good day.
  11. Made one complete circuit on the backyard pump track.
  12. Began construction of my backyard pump-track.
