Some very small chance I'll make it to MES this year... new kid, company I've worked for for the last 14 years is on the rocks. But if anyone from Madison is going, I could send it up with them. trent Posted January 20, 2009 Author Report Share Posted January 20, 2009 hey all, just a few items: everyone will be buying your lift ticket when you drive in to afton. get your gear on, and come find the rest of us. we'll start on the runs around chair 2. if you're carpooling / caravaning - shoot me an email. you might be able to get a discount. let's eat lunch around 12:30 in the alps chalet (the main one), upstairs level. if you bought a shirt, you'll get it a lunch. there's a (very) small drawing for some swag. that will also be at lunch time. one more reason to meet for lunch? we'll do a group photo afterwards. you really don't want bobble or me to photoshop you in. see you wed! -trent Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Huge Thanks! trent, thanks for organizing this event. outstanding job! also thanks for taking the carve porn videos/shots. it was worth taking a day off from work. i liked afton over previous venues. Special Thanks dave. love the artwork for the t-shirt! might hang one of my shirts in my cube at work. i like the detail of the goggles. btw, who's the rider? andy & clay. thanks for setting up the course. greg. thanks for standing there and taking pictures. Highlights didn't get hurt! hope no one else did. riding inga's run and trudy's. the last time i rode that one i was scared sh!tless cuz of the ice. de's dive. snow was great. hope the photos turn out. light was flat but it just felt right. on the way home i made the connection to trent's post about dee snyder. belinda's bowl. lunch special; rigatoni, salad, garlic cheese bread, brownie, soda for $6. i was super hungry. it went down good! Lowlights video camera bit me a couple times. everytime i'd get close to trent i'd blow an edge. then finally on my last run i made it without blowing it which i guess is a highlight. wasn't too thrilled with the highlands run. i had problems... i was dehydrated and tired. powell1.8 Posted January 22, 2009 Report Share Posted January 22, 2009 Definately a good time. I did get blasted from behind by a skier towards the end. I didn't get hurt, but I might be a little sore in the morning. I felt kind of bad for the lady. She seemed shell shocked, but that's what happens when you ski into steel. It's kind of like skiing into a T-800 terminator. Not a smart choice. Here is a link to the pics I took. The camera is still new to me so I was playing around with settings quite a bit. There are some good pics and some not so good pics, but I"m pretty happy considering the light conditions. I don't think my auto focus could keep up at times, but it's more likely IO error.
