1. FYI Lots of kids and rutted runs at Buck this weekend.
2. More from Nationals: Donek And bomber are doing board/boot/binding demos, andthe kids are eating it up!!!! Emma, Anna, Jack B, Danny, Morgan, & Greg rentedboards and we all did a "top to bottom" carving run togetheryesterday - very fun! Best yet - gives the ridersan expanded palette of board experience and options. Convinced 5 of our freestyle coaches to try alpine today. Hope there are enough boots left in the tent for Kristen,Emily, Brady, Derek, & Brandon.. Setting SL course again today and coaching 12 of theguys. (expecting some good results today as well.) :) ~Karl
3. Trained GS with G-Team Friday at Copper, Joseph and I water skied on Bryant Lake in EP yesterday. Conditions at Copper holding up well on the higher runs. Semi-soft groom on top of firm base. Scuff just shot me the following results from Sunday's racing: Hey Joe! I can't seem to post to bomber via mobile. Gteam took 6 medals today for alpine. Jack 1st SL, Zach 1st SL (with Jacob and Jimmy making finals.) Grant 1st GS Will 2nd Gs Alex 3rd GS Walker 3rd GS Sunscreen is a good thing. Feeling crispy out here.
4. New carver at Buck today. Gretchen D. There were eight training courses set on Crossroads at 7:30am so we stayed on magic carpet. Good day for learning. Softish groom. Stayed until 11:00. She liked it.
5. This Weekend, March 3 and 4, USSA races at Buck. Both older and younger age groups. I estimate 400+ racers.
6. Three carvers today: Joe D., Joseph D., Bob D. (on skis). No crowds until 11:00am. Conditions remain excellent for carving.
7. Friday night: 2 carvers: Joe D. and Joseph D. Conditions: firm and fast Should be good this AM Thanks for your assistance Speedzilla
8. USSA race at Afton Saturday 2/18 also.
9. Spirit Mtn was good this weekend. FIS Ski race had the north end clogged but runs on each side of four pipe were very carveable. Four pipe itself was deep corn snow on top of ice.
10. I'll be there Sunday but unlike Saturday, men's ski race starts at 9:00am. I'll be judging gates untill 10:30am and again at noon. Hope to have about 90 minutes of carving in between.
11. FYI: Friday, Saturday and Sunday 2/3-2/5 Bear Claw and Gandy Dancer will be clogged with 250+ FIS ski racers for the Atmore Memorial race. I'll be up to carve some turns between gate judging the men's races. Red jacket. Short board. First chair on the quad Saturday.
12. Season is over. Two days of pow visiting engineering schools last week in Utah with my son Joseph.
13. Younger racers at Afton this weekend but the older kids at Chill Leg. Not as many racers at Chill due to FIS race in Thunder Bay same days. I estimate 150 racers.
