  1. Watch out for the frost trap!
  2. Have you ever been in shoulder deep freshies. Help. I don't see the answer Deep Pow on a Skinny Board.
  3. Of or pertaining to anthropogenesis Hope that helps It's becoming a catch word for the "ark builders" the oceans will rise 20 feet in our lifetime because of "anthropogenic carbon" Al Gore has never been wrong so far
  4. and love risking life and limb in glaciated hanging valleys and dangerous cirques then name her KWM pronounced cwoom
  5. Please don't ever leave us again!
  6. Rerail duration: Two minutes. Just goes to show that if there is a perpetual motion machine It's a political one. And/or If you hand a mirror to someone It no longer reflects your image.
  7. Dogs live longer above 6000' too. Up here large dogs (80 lbs+) regularly live 13-14 years. In the last 25 years I've known more than a few to go 16! I'm told that's longer than normal? How do the Flatlander stats compare? Dogs live longer because they love it up here: They play harder and sleep better (no stress). No Money means No Money problems. Your golf ball goes farther, You get to rig a smaller kite and you get to carve faster with less wind resistance. O K I made the last one up. But going forty in the powder makes One greedy for life. :)
  8. When I found this site four years ago I had about 500-600 days on "race" boards. (Some WC stuff but mostly production boards not wider than 18 cms.) I knew I was BAAD and knew that a properly executed edge change happens at 45 degrees to the fall line. Then I read a post and saw a video that changed my world forever. Search for "carving uphill on the downhill edge" and be converted. It had never occurred to me to hold an edge through the fall line but that "weightless" feeling rocks when you change edges letting your hip Freefall into the fall line. Now I know that I suck and that a sweet line doesn't look like a dna helix but, instead like a perky breast; kinda tucked up underneath! (The downside is I get hit from behind now) I also know that being an all mountain Bull is missing the "Art" of piste. It was you and Shred that showed me how beautiful being a "gruum-jockey" can be. I was born in the trees but I'm working on the piste now. See you in Heaven...
  9. Bryan, You might need to take another trip thru the trees with Jim F. May I suggest April 20th?
  10. Fly in to Reno, if you can. It's only an hour and a half by airport shuttle (maybe 15-20 bucks now) The law says carry chains or rent a 4x4. Remember meeting me? See ya in Feb.
  11. When I left at noon today, I couldn't tell the 9:00 o'clock trenches from the 11:45 trenches
  12. After last week's 6 inch mini-dump was rolled in We added a couple more windblown inches each night keeping it cold and windy for a few days- Then freeze over night (low 20's) and bake gently Monday morning until slightly soft From sparkling rooster-tails to butter-cream groom shin-deep windblown pockets in the trees like White sugar in the nooks-and-crannies of a crunchy English muffin BAMMM! The best three hour stretch of Technical hero carve this year. Period. Heavenly kept the whole mountain open for me. I marvelled at the precision of all the tracks I saw each an exquisite expression of the Arc Incarnate perfect in their random imperfection. Then i realized :o they're all mine So thanks for staying home everybody and thanks for the groom Heavenly Finally A Sole Carver
  13. Last night was 19 F. They turned another 4-6 inches in. Tonight will be colder. Somebody say Hero Groom?
  14. You are soooooo uncool. I'm the only one that saw it and I have to have it. Super rare. Did you even notice that is SIGNED by Peter and Jean!!? $1000 is a steal- $200 less than that silly clown board with the brass inserts that shaggy just dumped.
  15. That has been my wallpaper for years. That IS the one.
  16. My son (3.5 yr old) watches his Speed Racer dvd with his Ricochet and goggles on it is so comfortable.
  17. Don't the sidewall colors (orange vs. green) indicate stiffness?
  18. Shred, All will be forgiven when you get to Heaven. Enrolled in a few clinics with Cuban- we missed you. I actually fell into one of his trenches trying to mimic his line! Deep and Dark in there. Four feet in the last 48 hours and looking like four more by Wed! Should be Undertaken (198) by Tuesday. Right said Tahoetrencher (not tahoecarver )
  19. So that's the Big Mountain daily rub-in Hmmmm...
  20. I've been on the South Shore for 25 years, I've never met Randy S. He's probably on the N Shore. Don't bother with Tahoecarvers: They're not from Tahoe, they're from Santa Cruz Addicted to surfing( :) ) they're only part-time carving addicts and They hate heavenly- they love the Wood (also :) ) Come ride with me and Cuban carving gooding on Monday. He is a graduate of the "Shred"-school-of-carving aka Gruum-jockey-extraordinaire. By comparison, I'm a bull in a china shop. After you experience Heaven's cord you will, of course, be sworn to secrecy.
  21. I wish I still had my GNU Raceroom with the pink and purple cow poop. It had a cool DEVO-looking scientist dude with a beaker on the nose and the flex pattern of a 2X10. PS I think both Barefoot and Avalanche were invented here in Tahoe. So was the half-pipe.
