I thought you would be doing the maniacal cross country drive one again, since your flying, dont worry about the rolls. If you need a pow stick, you can borrow one of my tankers if you'd like to. I have multiple pizza places, 2 of the proprietors are from Ocean county, one from Point Pleasant, and another from Beachwood, I can get a decent white pie about a mile from here at a third, I have 4th in the hood here that has an exceptional beer selection. Let me know about the tanker. Mario

4'' does not a powder day make, just an early chopped up bumpy mess. That and the thought of a bunch of yahoos a yahooin' over dust on crust helped keep me in bed this am. My jersey cynicism rears it's ugly head yet once again. even though I am 31 years and a month removed... When are you in? You might have to smuggle in some hard rolls!

short and goofy For the first time in the history of our little crazy carving cadre, there was not a single board over 180 in the lineup. Ice, feeling the most inadequate, was sporting the longest at a whopping 172 cm (minds out of the gutter please, thankyouverrrymuch). What was even more awesomer was the fact that all 5 riders in the lineup ride the most proper, and preferred way, goofy. Sunday's crew consisted of the aforementioned Ice, Ink, Mr.E, Miss Shelly, and of course, the excessively verbose Moi. No chasing the sun today, since we were socked in by snow, wind, clouds, blah blah blah.... Being creatures of habit, we started on the practice field, hit firecut for one, the edge of groom was a wee bit ill defined, leading to yet another slow speed pratfall for myself. I was quite adept at providing the comic relief, with 3 slow speed topples, one caused by vertigo, the other 2 by sheer rider ineptitude. Turning was increased by at least 87%, due to the preponderance of turny lil' boards on the hill. Snow was supergrippycarvalicous, so much so that I came damn close to stall speed on several runs with all the turns I was making. It was fun. At one point, inky was tail gunning me, and I decided to tighten things up a tad more just to make him work a little harder. Sadly, only 5 more sunday sessions left, next seasons passes are on sale tomorrow, and people are starting to dump 4 packs in the parking lot. see next Sunday mario
  7. Just so you know, there is no Starbucks at the top of the escalator, actually, there is no escalator, if you get there early enough, you might have to walk 50 yards to the lift, most of the lifts are fixed grip, it is an old school no frills ski area with few amenities (we like it that way) We ride hard out of the gate, and are usually smoked by noon and drinking beer. It is windy, and cold. Base is at 10800 feet, as one of the founders of the Lci, snow boarder pete, would say, "its rigorous" We welcome all on any given Sunday Mario

The melt, and the freeze Is once again upon us. Lot's o firm at the start of the day, leading to a slower, more leisurely start to our morning, in fact, Carvin Marvin remarked (paraphrasing here) Y'alls used to be frothing at the mouth to be on the lift as soon as they drop the rope, whats goin on here? I replied along the lines of" we're tired, its getting late in the season, and some of us are fat and old, and besides, it's really phuckin' phirm right now" We started out on the practice field, which was full of miniature Oreo and chips ahoy death cookies on top of a frozen snow cone. Some of the smarter members of the crew headed over to Bennets after one, while some of the more determined dumba$$'s were all " I can do this, I just need to remember how to stack". By the next run we where all on heavenly buttah cream that was Bennett's bowl. After several there, we moved on to the now slightly softer Roulette for many's. I got frustrated by the ever increasing glacier building up on the underside of my boots, and on the top of my bindings, it made for a very tight and secure feeling, when I actually could get into my binding. The less frustrated hit 1 for another 1-4. No cahr barh today, instead we finished our day at the Parson's family sprinter, where the lovely Miss Racheal treated us to a wonderful spread for Carvin Marvin's 33rd birthday, Thanks so much for that, it was the perfect ending to a really damn fine day. Another Big A$$ mini session yet once again, with 007, bond henchman Odd Job showing up out of the blue , Inky, Dustin, Miss Shelly, FNG Justin, Kyle, Dennis, Ice, The Birthday Boy, and his lovely wife, and finally, lil' ol' me. Til next Sunday, (which is shaping up nicely, by the way) mario

Home, sweet, home! Another fine day on the slopes of the Luv, despite the rolling uncertainty and chaos wrought by the hordes of spring breakers. It is so good to be back. Sunny, warmish, a bit breezy at times, with a softish, grippy forgiving groom which was quickly decimated by our rampaging posse of 9. As per normal, we followed the sun, starting on the practice field, working to the south with a few in Bennets, onto Roulette, E tow, with some of us finishing up on Richards and Mambo. The Big virus kicked my A$$, so I was done earlyish after toppling just outside the lift chicane, while a few of the lighter, younger, more athletic riders kept it goin with 1,2,4, and more runs. Coach Ink spent a bunch of time with the FNG, who was killing it on my old gold lame' topsheet FCII, complete with '08 Social Distortion tour sticker. Lots of smiles, tail gunning, and overall phenomenal riding taking place, topped off with some serious goggle tans. No Cahr Bahr, we adjourned to the Rat for our usual rounds of post ride analgesic recovery drinks, and our weekly " you are so awesome" love fest. On the Hill Today: 007 (getting more comfortable with her inner freecarver), Mr. Positive, The FNG, Kyle, Coach Ink, Mr. E, SVR, myself, and joining us later, after a 2 year absence, prior to covid, Issaac the Burner See youse on sunday Mario P.S- MR. John Deere, Inky had an early goggle strap violation, just thought I'let you know, though he did end up with a plus 50cps due to the amount of positve mentoring he was doing today, worth an easy +100 cp

Non ride update Lots of rum, fresh Ahi, Mahi Mahi, and Grouper. Kayaking with 'gators in the glades tomorrow. Did some sailing in the gulf early in the week, worked the winch as needed, but mostly lollin' about not doin' Jack $hit, recharging my beat up body and mind. Checked the luv webcams this am, groom looked carvalicious in the bright early morning sun, I hope it was as good as it looked. 8rw on hold, flex index did not make Mark happy, not sure where that's going. Cannot wait to be back on snow next weekend, and ride with you boneheads again Mario

  20. I've been cut off from liking anything else for today, ill hit you up with a like tomorrow. Laughing my ass off right now
  21. Another take One of the most awesome, fluid, cleanest, and amazing riders that i am so honored to share a chair with every sunday, Ice, aka Mr Positive, aka Kevin E, prefers to ride low angle slopes, though he can abso****inglutely kill it on anything he rides. Bob, stop beating yourself up, ride for yourself. I am about to step out of my "ride with gorilla balls" aggro persona for a bit here, and say the following: What we do is poetry, we do it for ourselves, not for the adulation of those watching from above on chairlifts, or our crew that watches us as we pass. Enjoy the beauty of a perfect turn, Irregardless of pitch, relish the feeling of an awesome heely or toeside, if the snow comes up to meet you, whoop with joy, enjoy the moment, embrace it, remember it, and try to duplicate it. The more you pursue it, the more elusive it will become. Get out of your head, let it happen, ride for yourself, and enjoy every turn, bad or good, feed your soul, because, ultimately, that is why we are all here, though we may not admit it. Or you can be like me, ride soso until you see a camera, and turn it up to 11... Mario
