    Yo Lci!!

Welcome Back Dammit, Janet, aka Concussed. it's been a few years too long, nice to have you back in the lineup! The front of my shirt was soaked from all of my drooling by the time I pulled into the lot today. It. was. that. good. Only bummer was the lack of a fresh mow on firecut. A quick inspection from reload brought me to an immediate "yeahno". Lumpy, day old, narrow groom, coupled with my 195 virus (Damn, I love that stick) left me searching smoother, cleaner groom. Found it on the practice field, Roulette, Richards, Mambo, and homerun. Ice and I dropped spillway, eliciting ohs and aahs from the lineup at the top( im sure it was mostly Kevins riding). Solid, and marbly, I was one and done there. Richards was a lot more even this week, though I did find a spot at the bottom that did launch me into a near earth(very near earth, at least 3'' of daylight under my board. Nice suprise visit from Slopestar, who slayed it despite an early morning back tweak, and his sweety Katie, we were also joined by Sandy, DT, Miss Shelly, and Coach Inky. One of the mo' betta carving days of the season so far, and the inaugural opening of the infamous Cahr Bahr. As much as I like the Rat, with as busy as it was today, I felt much more comfortable imbibing in the parking lot, and, the beer selection is much better. One more Sunday until Montucky, Mario
  3. 3038858480 try to get there by 7:30 before the lot starts filling up. You will be riding with the older, grayer crew, which will be a good warmup before you hook up with Yasu and The Odd One. See you next sunday! Mario
  4. If'n Your up for it, you can come slum at the luv on sunday,. I hear that there is a good crew there that can get you a buddy pass... unless it's on the 30th, then most of us will be on our way to Montucky
  5. Some sticks like to be barebacked Mario

    Yo Lci!!

Ive been watching the forecast all week, and now i'm drooling so bad that I need a bib. A week of no new snow, low temps, and multiple groomer passes with a light refresh today and tonight, things are shaping up to be astoundingly carvilicious, looking like time to break out the Big V... Fun one last Sunday, a little soft in places, but still a good time. Ink and I were joined by Miss Shelly, and one of Inks DJ buds, Casey. Cannot wait for Sunday! Mario
  7. A snowboard instructor at lovey years ago had barfoot bindings that he could turn like that. pretty cool in action
  8. Only in Jersey would a ski area name runs after major highways. I last skied there back in 85, spending most of my time at Great Gorge I miss the grittiness and pork roll, though Kneel is supposed to hook me up next time he makes it out west Nice" move along, nothing to see here" shot at New York btw Mario

I know inky and ice are out for sunday, anyone else in? mario
  10. I noticed that, Ive tried to make a few turns with you in the past, but... It took a few, but it finally got through my thick skull..., and i started riding with you, in spirit, from the lift. a few years ago I gained enough of Cliffs trust that he let me ride with him and his Jersey Buddy(Curly??) I was honored that they let me join them, though I'm sure that Cliff got a little weary of the lift banter from the Jersey expats We ride with a solid crew at Lovey, we have a base of 4 to 6, with occasional mini sessions of 10 or more breaking out multiple times a season. I love it when that happens, the energy just builds, and feeds, and it is pure joy to watch all of the different styles just rippin' up the hill. I've calmed down a bit in my advancing maturity, and just relish every turn with my fellow alpine geek brothers and sisters, be it 1, or 20 other riders mario

    Yo Lci!!

Today we now say goodbye the holiday season, and the associated tourons. Cold and sunny today, breezy, but not enough to shut down the lifts. it was nice to be able to see for the first time in a few weeks, on the plus side all of the new snow from the last few weeks has opened up a bunch of new terrain. Firecut had a fresh mow on it as did drifter, and dueces wild. Groom was pretty good, though a little soft in places, as I found out on a couple of heelies on Roulette, and Firecut. Somehow I managed to overpower the board, dont know how that happened Small crew out today, Ice, 007, the kid, and myself. Ethan has grown a couple of inches since last season, and so has his riding, he's looking pretty solid on the lower angle stuff. He even followed me into bad juju,(formally known as Drifter) and came out unscathed. Called it early after pulling an evasive move and tweaking my back knee on spillway after someone dropped the bumpy side on the left, then decided to pop on the groom in my periphery. Next week awaits. Mario
  12. I broke my rear boot cant adjusters a few years ago hitting one of my own at speed, and parallel in the infamous flat belly spin video Carvin Marvin took of me a few years ago. I think Gary's faceplant/headcarve pic from a few years ago was a direct result in of hitting one of mine during first tracks In copper bowl

    Yo Lci!!

Today was a Blast A little more terrain, incredible snow, no 85mph gusts of wind, ergo no wind holds, and a sizable crew made for one of the more epic days of the season. Regulars, 007T, Ice, Ink, D.T., Shelly, SVR, Mr.E and myself were joined by Slopestar, Katie, and Wayne. We had a jolly old time (bad santa reference) trenching up just about all of our normal runs. Unlike the sugar over granite video of Loon sent to Ink and I by MR. JOHN DEERE, we had firm, consistent, squeeky, awesome groom at the Luv today. 11 of us, when we actually managed to all ride together at the same time. The practice field was open today, at about 1/2 its normal width, but it still took a lot of pressure off of 1 and associated runs. So far, it seems numbers have been much lower than the last few years, which makes me smile. Everyone brought their AAAA game, so cool to see. Many awesome turns were laid down today, unfortunately any evidence will be obliterated by the Etch-A-Sketch of the groomers doing their thing tonight. Went vintage today, and hopped on my archaic, ancient 182Hot Blast. You wouldnt think a 20+ year old clapped out race board with a badly p texed core shot and edges thinner than a dime would ride as well as some of these newfangled dohickeys that are in my quiver, but I was pleasntly suprised. Might have to compare it to a few of my other newer sticks to see what needs to leave to make some room... Mario
  18. That is a rocking heelside. Ain't no way in hell I'm getting my butt below my knees at 58, and getting back up In fact, I don't think I ever could Mario

Yea, I got a little sassy there for a bit, then I hit that grooming ridge, at speed, at the apex of a toeside, with that fully loaded tail... I was not expecting to be launched like I was towards the woods at 30+mph, luckily I got the board down and into the snow before mass carnage, and chunka chunked to a stop. Gave me a whole new level of respect for that board. looking forward to that 8... Checking my shorts when I got home revealed that i had not sharted, thankfully

8RW heading this way in a bit
  22. That was awesome, watched it on the big screen. It hit on lots of the reasons I mainly ride at Loveland and have had a pass there for close to 20 seasons now, I think it's still family owned, and has the "little area that could" vibe to it. I am always amused the nfl chooses to do promotions featuring parker the snow dog and our lil' podunk resort (compared to the monsters further west) on Broncos game day

    Yo Lci!!

We have 2 more visitors for sunday, FNJ Guy Kneel will be up with his son in tow, looks like we could have a good sized crew, we'll have to get a few people to do buddy passes. Things should be riding nice by sunday, maybe a bit on the soft side mario
  24. The riders there have more soul and style and are not driven by image, marketing and advertising hype but that’s just my cynical, jaded opinion mario
