    Yo Lci!!

I was wondering if you were planning on making the trek this year
  2. Start with bodyweight, get through the entire cycle, then consider adding weight
  3. Ease into them. Seriously, for as simple as they are, they're deceptively brutal and will wreck you for a bit if you go in full bore. Start with 2 sets of the minis, doubling your workload each time you do them until you get up to the prescribed 10 sets. Once you get to there, go ahead and follow the programming to the end. mario
  4. https://www.backcountry.com/explore/train-eccentric-leg-strength-for-alpine-skiing?branch_used=true Interesting article from many years ago about eccentric and concentric training for the legs, and the development of the leg blaster. No need for any gym equipment. I've posted this before and have incorporated this into my early season training as well. They hurt.
  5. A gentle reminder that it is, in fact, summertime. I'm sure you'll hear back from him as the days get shorter and cooler... Look a little closer at your Google results, that is the address for the previous owners Mario

Man, lots of memories there, watched 3 of them, and remembered each of those days. It was really cool seeing those 2 Olympians as grommets. Thanks for digging those up Andre, and thanks to Dustin for putting those together! Mario
  8. Second iteration of my new Thirst, first one came out a little to flexy for me. On the second try, I decided to up the waist to 20cm, with a .324 flex index. Not quite flannel weather yet, it has finally dropped out of the upper 90's for the first time in nearly 2 weeks. 10 weeks til' snowmaking at the Luv...
  9. Not right now, but going to the Levitt pavilion for a Free Calexico concert tomorrow night, with the last minute bonus addition of Devotchka. My honi did spring for the VIP tixs... Mario

    Yo Lci!!

Well, at least I don't have to cover that now.... almost seemed like his first day bumping chairs, or he was just sick of his job. Wasn't too happy about having to let you go at the time, kinda made me a little sick, I hope nothing else pops up other than that sore heel. On a more cheerful note, our first and only day of slush surfing was a blast, as long as you didn't try to push too hard, which both you and I found out pretty quickly, thankfully without any real consequences Really warm in the lot to start, with temps pushing 40 before 8am. We started out as usual, heading to reload to start the day, but, alas, it was not running. After a quick reassess, we headed over to 4 and scrub for the first time of the season for some of us. It was already looser than a slurpee once we started down, so where one and done there, and headed back to 1 to start over. After hearing the annoying ARRRNGG of my old pass once again, and the lifty letting me go, we were off and running once again and on to reload. Snow was an interesting combo of boilerplate that rattled your teeth to dreamy surfy slush. We hit Bennets for a few, roulette for one choppy run, and then spent the remainder of the day just goofing around on the practice field making nice, easy fun turns until our legs gave out. good size crew out for closing day, with 007, DT, Slopestar, and Katie, and finally SVR playing on softies. Dennis, Ice, Ink, and myself stayed hardboots. We all witnessed a rare occurrence, Mr Positively Awesome blowing up and going down. There where a few of my trenches in the vicinity, that may or may not have played a part... All in all a good season, starting on Halloween, and ending on mothers day. It was fun to have MR. JFD join us for Thanksgiving, Carvin Marvin showing up a few times, with Kneel making a couple of appearances, and the finally, the man responsible for making this madness happen, The Sheriff. We picked up another rider along the way, J48, aka FNG. Crowds were not as horrible as last year, and the groom was outstanding all winter. A real powder day or 2 would have been nice, but you take what you can get. Big news from yesterday, Lance and Katie are back in the lineup for next season!! Thanks to all that I have had the pleasure of sharing chairs, runs, and beers with, we truly have something special going on at our lil' shit hole area, all you'se guys make it happen! Until next fall, Mario

    Yo Lci!!

Dense (like me) dust on crust. about 4'' of new grippable, somewhat firm, supportive snow. Spent the morning on the sf, giggling my fat A$$ off. there were carve trains, tailgunning, tightening of turns when a certain fng got a little close. I was nearly in a collision right of the bat as an ape hanger park monkey speaking jibberish thought it would be a good idea to pass me between the edge of the trees at the apex of my healside on mambo on the way to reload. Boards got within a foot of each other as I was making nice, flowwy consistent turns. Dumasso went down, I stayed up, yay for me! Good crew out, Ice Hil, and Shelly stuck around for a few, then took off in search of the oh so elusive gnar, we didnt see them for the rest of the day. Fng and sweetie, Ink, the incredibly odd one, myself, and Mr. E lapped reload and 6, I hung in until a bit after11, and headed down the hill. hit some severiously squally patches between bakerville and Idaho springs, made it feel a wee bit like mid winter. Sandy, I hope you didnt break yourself too bad, and you will back in the lineup next Sunday. 2 to go Mario

    Yo Lci!!

Ahh them olden days... Today was a reminder of that, cold, windy with snow blowing sideways, low visibility certainly, don't miss them, but you take what you can get. Our intrepid little posse today consisted of the usual suspects, 007, FNG, Ice, Ink, SVR and myself. Kneel and son #2 were supposed to be joining us, but oversleeping, and an accident on eastbound I-70 kept them at copper today. Despite the rigourous conditions and a bit of whining by myself, a fun day was had by all. With with 4''of fresh over funky, chunky frozen, we all left our racer monkey tendencies in our cars, or in the lodge, and just went laid back and surfy. I rode the little sf, thinking it would be nice to lower the displacement, cut through the chop, and not get bucked around like i was on a brahma bull. That worked out well, and I was surprised at how well it floated when it was called on to do so. Not overly crowded today, being Easter, with most people focused on finding easter eggs, leaving us with mostly kook free riding. the chop, wind, snow and cold eventually wore us down, and we reatreated to the relative warmth and breezeless Rat for our post ride analgesic recovery drinks. Kevins tracker app followed him in there, and recorded a speed of 0.0mph as we recharged for next week. 3 Sundays left, parts of my body cannot wait, while I know I am going to be sad. 'til next Sunday, Mario
